| [1]וְֽ֠הָיָה מִסְפַּ֤ר בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ כְּחֹ֣ול הַיָּ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹֽא־יִמַּ֖ד וְלֹ֣א יִסָּפֵ֑ר וְֽ֠הָיָה בִּמְקֹ֞ום אֲשֶׁר־יֵאָמֵ֤ר לָהֶם֙ לֹֽא־עַמִּ֣י אַתֶּ֔ם יֵאָמֵ֥ר לָהֶ֖ם בְּנֵ֥י אֵֽל־חָֽי׃ |
[1]SayH559[H8798] ye unto your brethrenH251, AmmiH5971; and to your sistersH269, RuhamahH7355.[H8795] |
| [2]וְ֠נִקְבְּצוּ בְּנֵֽי־יְהוּדָ֤ה וּבְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ יַחְדָּ֔ו וְשָׂמ֥וּ לָהֶ֛ם רֹ֥אשׁ אֶחָ֖ד וְעָל֣וּ מִן־הָאָ֑רֶץ כִּ֥י גָדֹ֖ול יֹ֥ום יִזְרְעֶֽאל׃ |
[2]PleadH7378[H8798] with your motherH517, pleadH7378[H8798]: for she is not my wifeH802, neither am I her husbandH376: let her therefore put awayH5493[H8686] her whoredomsH2183 out of her sightH6440, and her adulteriesH5005 from between her breastsH7699; |
| [3]אִמְר֥וּ לַאֲחֵיכֶ֖ם עַמִּ֑י וְלַאֲחֹֽותֵיכֶ֖ם רֻחָֽמָה׃ |
[3]Lest I stripH6584[H8686] her nakedH6174, and setH3322[H8689] her as in the dayH3117 that she was bornH3205[H8736], and makeH7760[H8804] her as a wildernessH4057, and setH7896[H8804] her like a dryH6723 landH776, and slayH4191[H8689] her with thirstH6772. |
| [4]רִ֤יבוּ בְאִמְּכֶם֙ רִ֔יבוּ כִּֽי־הִיא֙ לֹ֣א אִשְׁתִּ֔י וְאָנֹכִ֖י לֹ֣א אִישָׁ֑הּ וְתָסֵ֤ר זְנוּנֶ֙יהָ֙ מִפָּנֶ֔יה וְנַאֲפוּפֶ֖יהָ מִבֵּ֥ין שָׁדֶֽיהָ׃ |
[4]And I will not have mercyH7355[H8762] upon her childrenH1121; for they be the childrenH1121 of whoredomsH2183. |
| [5]פֶּן־אַפְשִׁיטֶ֣נָּה עֲרֻמָּ֔ה וְהִ֨צַּגְתִּ֔יהָ כְּיֹ֖ום הִוָּֽלְדָ֑הּ וְשַׂמְתִּ֣יהָ כַמִּדְבָּ֗ר וְשַׁתִּ֙הָ֙ כְּאֶ֣רֶץ צִיָּ֔ה וַהֲמִתִּ֖יהָ בַּצָּמָֽא׃ |
[5]For their motherH517 hath played the harlotH2181[H8804]: she that conceivedH2029[H8802] them hath done shamefullyH3001[H8689]: for she saidH559[H8804], I will goH3212[H8799] afterH310 my loversH157[H8764], that giveH5414[H8802] me my breadH3899 and my waterH4325, my woolH6785 and my flaxH6593, mine oilH8081 and my drinkH8250. |
| [6]וְאֶת־בָּנֶ֖יהָ לֹ֣א אֲרַחֵ֑ם כִּֽי־בְנֵ֥י זְנוּנִ֖ים הֵֽמָּה׃ |
[6]Therefore, behold, I will hedgeH7753[H8801] up thy wayH1870 with thornsH5518, and makeH1443[H8804] a wallH1447, that she shall not findH4672[H8799] her pathsH5410. |
| [7]כִּ֤י זָֽנְתָה֙ אִמָּ֔ם הֹבִ֖ישָׁה הֹֽורָתָ֑ם כִּ֣י אָמְרָ֗ה אֵלְכָ֞ה אַחֲרֵ֤י מְאַהֲבַי֙ נֹתְנֵ֤י לַחְמִי֙ וּמֵימַ֔י צַמְרִ֣י וּפִשְׁתִּ֔י שַׁמְנִ֖י וְשִׁקּוּיָֽי׃ |
[7]And she shall followH7291[H8765] after her loversH157[H8764], but she shall not overtakeH5381[H8686] them; and she shall seekH1245[H8765] them, but shall not findH4672[H8799] them: then shall she sayH559[H8804], I will goH3212[H8799] and returnH7725[H8799] to my firstH7223 husbandH376; for then was it betterH2896 with me than nowH6258. |
| [8]לָכֵ֛ן הִנְנִי־שָׂ֥ךְ אֶת־דַּרְכֵּ֖ךְ בַּסִּירִ֑ים וְגָֽדַרְתִּי֙ אֶת־גְּדֵרָ֔הּ וּנְתִיבֹותֶ֖יהָ לֹ֥א תִמְצָֽא׃ |
[8]For she did not knowH3045[H8804] that I gaveH5414[H8804] her cornH1715, and wineH8492, and oilH3323, and multipliedH7235[H8689] her silverH3701 and goldH2091, which they preparedH6213[H8804] for BaalH1168. |
| [9]וְרִדְּפָ֤ה אֶת־מְאַהֲבֶ֙יהָ֙ וְלֹֽא־תַשִּׂ֣יג אֹתָ֔ם וּבִקְשָׁ֖תַם וְלֹ֣א תִמְצָ֑א וְאָמְרָ֗ה אֵלְכָ֤ה וְאָשׁ֙וּבָה֙ אֶל־אִישִׁ֣י הָֽרִאשֹׁ֔ון כִּ֣י טֹ֥וב לִ֛י אָ֖ז מֵעָֽתָּה׃ |
[9]Therefore will I returnH7725[H8799], and take awayH3947[H8804] my cornH1715 in the timeH6256 thereof, and my wineH8492 in the seasonH4150 thereof, and will recoverH5337[H8689] my woolH6785 and my flaxH6593 given to coverH3680[H8763] her nakednessH6172. |
| [10]וְהִיא֙ לֹ֣א יָֽדְעָ֔ה כִּ֤י אָֽנֹכִי֙ נָתַ֣תִּי לָ֔הּ הַדָּגָ֖ן וְהַתִּירֹ֣ושׁ וְהַיִּצְהָ֑ר וְכֶ֨סֶף הִרְבֵּ֥יתִי לָ֛הּ וְזָהָ֖ב עָשׂ֥וּ לַבָּֽעַל׃ |
[10]And now will I discoverH1540[H8762] her lewdnessH5040 in the sightH5869 of her loversH157[H8764], and noneH376 shall deliverH5337[H8686] her out of mine handH3027. |
| [11]לָכֵ֣ן אָשׁ֔וּב וְלָקַחְתִּ֤י דְגָנִי֙ בְּעִתֹּ֔ו וְתִירֹושִׁ֖י בְּמֹֽועֲדֹ֑ו וְהִצַּלְתִּי֙ צַמְרִ֣י וּפִשְׁתִּ֔י לְכַסֹּ֖ות אֶת־עֶרְוָתָֽהּ׃ |
[11]I will also cause all her mirthH4885 to ceaseH7673[H8689], her feast daysH2282, her new moonsH2320, and her sabbathsH7676, and all her solemn feastsH4150. |
| [12]וְעַתָּ֛ה אֲגַלֶּ֥ה אֶת־נַבְלֻתָ֖הּ לְעֵינֵ֣י מְאַהֲבֶ֑יהָ וְאִ֖ישׁ לֹֽא־יַצִּילֶ֥נָּה מִיָּדִֽי׃ |
[12]And I will destroyH8074[H8689] her vinesH1612 and her fig treesH8384, whereof she hath saidH559[H8804], These are my rewardsH866 that my loversH157[H8764] have givenH5414[H8804] me: and I will makeH7760[H8804] them a forestH3293, and the beastsH2416 of the fieldH7704 shall eatH398 themH8804. |
| [13]וְהִשְׁבַּתִּי֙ כָּל־מְשֹׂושָׂ֔הּ חַגָּ֖הּ חָדְשָׁ֣הּ וְשַׁבַּתָּ֑הּ וְכֹ֖ל מֹועֲדָֽהּ׃ |
[13]And I will visitH6485[H8804] upon her the daysH3117 of BaalimH1168, wherein she burned incenseH6999[H8686] to them, and she deckedH5710[H8799] herself with her earringsH5141 and her jewelsH2484, and she wentH3212[H8799] afterH310 her loversH157[H8764], and forgatH7911[H8804] me, saithH5002[H8803] the LORDH3068. |
| [14]וַהֲשִׁמֹּתִ֗י גַּפְנָהּ֙ וּתְאֵ֣נָתָ֔הּ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אָמְרָ֗ה אֶתְנָ֥ה הֵ֙מָּה֙ לִ֔י אֲשֶׁ֥ר נָֽתְנוּ־לִ֖י מְאַֽהֲבָ֑י וְשַׂמְתִּ֣ים לְיַ֔עַר וַאֲכָלָ֖תַם חַיַּ֥ת הַשָּׂדֶֽה׃ |
[14]Therefore, behold, I will allureH6601[H8764] her, and bringH3212[H8689] her into the wildernessH4057, and speakH1696[H8765] comfortably unto herH3820. |
| [15]וּפָקַדְתִּ֣י עָלֶ֗יהָ אֶת־יְמֵ֤י הַבְּעָלִים֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר תַּקְטִ֣יר לָהֶ֔ם וַתַּ֤עַד נִזְמָהּ֙ וְחֶלְיָתָ֔הּ וַתֵּ֖לֶךְ אַחֲרֵ֣י מְאַהֲבֶ֑יהָ וְאֹתִ֥י שָׁכְחָ֖ה נְאֻם־יְהוָֽה׃ |
[15]And I will giveH5414[H8804] her her vineyardsH3754 from thence, and the valleyH6010 of AchorH5911 for a doorH6607 of hopeH8615: and she shall singH6030[H8804] there, as in the daysH3117 of her youthH5271, and as in the dayH3117 when she came upH5927[H8800] out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714. |
| [16]לָכֵ֗ן הִנֵּ֤ה אָֽנֹכִי֙ מְפַתֶּ֔יהָ וְהֹֽלַכְתִּ֖יהָ הַמִּדְבָּ֑ר וְדִבַּרְתִּ֖י עַל־לִבָּֽהּ׃ |
[16]And it shall be at that dayH3117, saithH5002[H8803] the LORDH3068, that thou shalt callH7121[H8799] me IshiH376; and shalt callH7121[H8799] me no more BaaliH1180. |
| [17]וְנָתַ֨תִּי לָ֤הּ אֶת־כְּרָמֶ֙יהָ֙ מִשָּׁ֔ם וְאֶת־עֵ֥מֶק עָכֹ֖ור לְפֶ֣תַח תִּקְוָ֑ה וְעָ֤נְתָה שָּׁ֙מָּה֙ כִּימֵ֣י נְעוּרֶ֔יהָ וִּכְיֹ֖ום עֲלֹתָ֥הּ מֵאֶֽרֶץ־מִצְרָֽיִם׃ |
[17]For I will take awayH5493[H8689] the namesH8034 of BaalimH1168 out of her mouthH6310, and they shall no more be rememberedH2142[H8735] by their nameH8034. |
| [18]וְהָיָ֤ה בַיֹּום־הַהוּא֙ נְאֻם־יְהוָ֔ה תִּקְרְאִ֖י אִישִׁ֑י וְלֹֽא־תִקְרְאִי־לִ֥י עֹ֖וד בַּעְלִֽי׃ |
[18]And in that dayH3117 will I makeH3772[H8804] a covenantH1285 for them with the beastsH2416 of the fieldH7704, and with the fowlsH5775 of heavenH8064, and with the creeping thingsH7431 of the groundH127: and I will breakH7665[H8799] the bowH7198 and the swordH2719 and the battleH4421 out of the earthH776, and will make them to lie downH7901[H8689] safelyH983. |
| [19]וַהֲסִרֹתִ֛י אֶת־שְׁמֹ֥ות הַבְּעָלִ֖ים מִפִּ֑יהָ וְלֹֽא־יִזָּכְר֥וּ עֹ֖וד בִּשְׁמָֽם׃ |
[19]And I will betrothH781[H8765] thee unto me for everH5769; yea, I will betrothH781[H8765] thee unto me in righteousnessH6664, and in judgmentH4941, and in lovingkindnessH2617, and in merciesH7356. |
| [20]וְכָרַתִּ֨י לָהֶ֤ם בְּרִית֙ בַּיֹּ֣ום הַה֔וּא עִם־חַיַּ֤ת הַשָּׂדֶה֙ וְעִם־עֹ֣וף הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וְרֶ֖מֶשׂ הָֽאֲדָמָ֑ה וְקֶ֨שֶׁת וְחֶ֤רֶב וּמִלְחָמָה֙ אֶשְׁבֹּ֣ור מִן־הָאָ֔רֶץ וְהִשְׁכַּבְתִּ֖ים לָבֶֽטַח׃ |
[20]I will even betrothH781[H8765] thee unto me in faithfulnessH530: and thou shalt knowH3045[H8804] the LORDH3068. |
| [21]וְאֵרַשְׂתִּ֥יךְ לִ֖י לְעֹולָ֑ם וְאֵרַשְׂתִּ֥יךְ לִי֙ בְּצֶ֣דֶק וּבְמִשְׁפָּ֔ט וּבְחֶ֖סֶד וּֽבְרַחֲמִֽים׃ |
[21]And it shall come to pass in that dayH3117, I will hearH6030[H8799], saithH5002[H8803] the LORDH3068, I will hearH6030[H8799] the heavensH8064, and they shall hearH6030[H8799] the earthH776; |
| [22]וְאֵרַשְׂתִּ֥יךְ לִ֖י בֶּאֱמוּנָ֑ה וְיָדַ֖עַתְּ אֶת־יְהוָֽה׃ |
[22]And the earthH776 shall hearH6030[H8799] the cornH1715, and the wineH8492, and the oilH3323; and they shall hearH6030[H8799] JezreelH3157. |
| [23]וְהָיָ֣ה ׀ בַּיֹּ֣ום הַה֗וּא אֶֽעֱנֶה֙ נְאֻם־יְהוָ֔ה אֶעֱנֶ֖ה אֶת־הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם וְהֵ֖ם יַעֲנ֥וּ אֶת־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ |
[23]And I will sowH2232[H8804] her unto me in the earthH776; and I will have mercyH7355[H8765] upon her that had not obtained mercyH7355[H8795][H8677][H3818]; and I will sayH559[H8804] to them which were not my peopleH5971, Thou art my peopleH5971; and they shall sayH559[H8799], Thou art my GodH430. |
| [24]וְהָאָ֣רֶץ תַּעֲנֶ֔ה אֶת־הַדָּגָ֖ן וְאֶת־הַתִּירֹ֣ושׁ וְאֶת־הַיִּצְהָ֑ר וְהֵ֖ם יַעֲנ֥וּ אֶֽת־יִזְרְעֶֽאל׃ |

| [25]וּזְרַעְתִּ֤יהָ לִּי֙ בָּאָ֔רֶץ וְרִֽחַמְתִּ֖י אֶת־לֹ֣א רֻחָ֑מָה וְאָמַרְתִּ֤י לְלֹֽא־עַמִּי֙ עַמִּי־אַ֔תָּה וְה֖וּא יֹאמַ֥ר אֱלֹהָֽי׃ |
