| [2]לִי יִזְעָקוּ אֱלֹהַי יְדַעֲנוּךָ יִשְׂרָאֵל׃ |
[2]IsraelH3478 shall cryH2199[H8799] unto me, My GodH430, we knowH3045 theeH8804. |
| [3]זָנַח יִשְׂרָאֵל טֹוב אֹויֵב יִרְדְּפֹו׃ |
[3]IsraelH3478 hath cast offH2186[H8804] the thing that is goodH2896: the enemyH341[H8802] shall pursueH7291 himH8799. |
| [4]הֵם הִמְלִיכוּ וְלֹא מִמֶּנִּי הֵשִׂירוּ וְלֹא יָדָעְתִּי כַּסְפָּם וּזְהָבָם עָשׂוּ לָהֶם עֲצַבִּים לְמַעַן יִכָּרֵת׃ |
[4]They have set up kingsH4427[H8689], but not by me: they have made princesH7786[H8689], and I knewH3045[H8804] it not: of their silverH3701 and their goldH2091 have they madeH6213[H8804] them idolsH6091, that they may be cut offH3772.[H8735] |
| [5]זָנַח עֶגְלֵךְ שֹׁמְרֹון חָרָה אַפִּי בָּם עַד־מָתַי לֹא יוּכְלוּ נִקָּיֹן׃ |
[5]Thy calfH5695, O SamariaH8111, hath castH2186[H8804] thee off; mine angerH639 is kindledH2734[H8804] against them: how long will it be ereH3808 they attainH3201[H8799] to innocencyH5356? |
| [6]כִּי מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל וְהוּא חָרָשׁ עָשָׂהוּ וְלֹא אֱלֹהִים הוּא כִּי־שְׁבָבִים יִהְיֶה עֵגֶל שֹׁמְרֹון׃ |
[6]For from IsraelH3478 was it also: the workmanH2796 madeH6213[H8804] it; therefore it is not GodH430: but the calfH5695 of SamariaH8111 shall be broken in piecesH7616. |
| [7]כִּי רוּחַ יִזְרָעוּ וְסוּפָתָה יִקְצֹרוּ קָמָה אֵין־לֹו צֶמַח בְּלִי יַעֲשֶׂה־קֶּמַח אוּלַי יַעֲשֶׂה זָרִים יִבְלָעֻהוּ׃ |
[7]For they have sownH2232[H8799] the windH7307, and they shall reapH7114[H8799] the whirlwindH5492: it hath no stalkH7054: the budH6780 shall yieldH6213[H8799] no mealH7058: ifH194 so be it yieldH6213[H8799], the strangersH2114[H8801] shall swallow it upH1104.[H8799] |
| [8]נִבְלַע יִשְׂרָאֵל עַתָּה הָיוּ בַגֹּויִם כִּכְלִי אֵין־חֵפֶץ בֹּו׃ |
[8]IsraelH3478 is swallowed upH1104[H8738]: now shall they be among the GentilesH1471 as a vesselH3627 wherein is no pleasureH2656. |
| [9]כִּי־הֵמָּה עָלוּ אַשּׁוּר פֶּרֶא בֹּודֵד לֹו אֶפְרַיִם הִתְנוּ אֲהָבִים׃ |
[9]For they are gone upH5927[H8804] to AssyriaH804, a wild assH6501 aloneH909[H8802] by himself: EphraimH669 hath hiredH8566[H8689] loversH158. |
| [10]גַּם כִּי־יִתְנוּ בַגֹּויִם עַתָּה אֲקַבְּצֵם וַיָּחֵלּוּ מְּעָט מִמַּשָּׂא מֶלֶךְ שָׂרִים׃ |
[10]Yea, though they have hiredH8566[H8799] among the nationsH1471, now will I gatherH6908[H8762] them, and they shall sorrowH2490[H8686] a littleH4592 for the burdenH4853 of the kingH4428 of princesH8269. |
| [11]כִּי־הִרְבָּה אֶפְרַיִם מִזְבְּחֹת לַחֲטֹא הָיוּ־לֹו מִזְבְּחֹות לַחֲטֹא׃ |
[11]Because EphraimH669 hath made manyH7235[H8689] altarsH4196 to sinH2398[H8800], altarsH4196 shall be unto him to sinH2398.[H8800] |
| [12]אֶכתֹוב [Q: אֶכְתָּב]־לֹו רִבֹּו רֻבֵּי תֹּורָתִי כְּמֹו־זָר נֶחְשָׁבוּ׃ |
[12]I have writtenH3789[H8799] to him the great thingsH7230[H8675][H7239] of my lawH8451, but they were countedH2803[H8738] as a strange thingH2114.[H8801] |
| [13]זִבְחֵי הַבְהָבַי יִזְבְּחוּ בָשָׂר וַיֹּאכֵלוּ יְהוָה לֹא רָצָם עַתָּה יִזְכֹּר עֲוֹנָם וְיִפְקֹד חַטֹּאותָם הֵמָּה מִצְרַיִם יָשׁוּבוּ׃ |
[13]They sacrificeH2076[H8799] fleshH1320 for the sacrificesH2077 of mine offeringsH1890, and eatH398[H8799] it; but the LORDH3068 acceptethH7521[H8804] them not; now will he rememberH2142[H8799] their iniquityH5771, and visitH6485[H8799] their sinsH2403: they shall returnH7725[H8799] to EgyptH4714. |
| [14]וַיִּשְׁכַּח יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת־עֹשֵׂהוּ וַיִּבֶן הֵיכָלֹות וִיהוּדָה הִרְבָּה עָרִים בְּצֻרֹות וְשִׁלַּחְתִּי־אֵשׁ בְּעָרָיו וְאָכְלָה אַרְמְנֹתֶיהָ׃ |
[14]For IsraelH3478 hath forgottenH7911[H8799] his MakerH6213[H8802], and buildethH1129[H8799] templesH1964; and JudahH3063 hath multipliedH7235[H8689] fencedH1219[H8803] citiesH5892: but I will sendH7971[H8765] a fireH784 upon his citiesH5892, and it shall devourH398[H8804] the palaces thereofH759. |
