[1]Onus Ægypti. Ecce Dominus ascendet super nubem levem, et ingredietur Ægyptum, et commovebuntur simulacra Ægypti a facie ejus, et cor Ægypti tabescet in medio ejus, [1]The burdenH4853 of EgyptH4714. Behold, the LORDH3068 ridethH7392[H8802] upon a swiftH7031 cloudH5645, and shall comeH935[H8804] into EgyptH4714: and the idolsH457 of EgyptH4714 shall be movedH5128[H8804] at his presenceH6440, and the heartH3824 of EgyptH4714 shall meltH4549[H8735] in the midst of itH7130.
[2]et concurrere faciam Ægyptios adversus Ægyptios; et pugnabit vir contra fratrem suum, et vir contra amicum suum, civitas adversus civitatem, regnum adversus regnum. [2]And I will setH5526[H8773] the EgyptiansH4714 against the EgyptiansH4714: and they shall fightH3898[H8738] every oneH376 against his brotherH251, and every oneH376 against his neighbourH7453; cityH5892 against cityH5892, and kingdomH4467 against kingdomH4467.
[3]Et dirumpetur spiritus Ægypti in visceribus ejus, et consilium ejus præcipitabo; et interrogabunt simulacra sua, et divinos suos, et pythones, et ariolos. [3]And the spiritH7307 of EgyptH4714 shall failH1238[H8738] in the midstH7130 thereof; and I will destroyH1104[H8762] the counselH6098 thereof: and they shall seekH1875[H8804] to the idolsH457, and to the charmersH328, and to them that have familiar spiritsH178, and to the wizardsH3049.
[4]Et tradam Ægyptum in manu dominorum crudelium, et rex fortis dominabitur eorum, ait Dominus Deus exercituum. [4]AndH853 the EgyptiansH4714 will I give overH5534[H8765] into the handH3027 of a cruelH7186 lordH113; and a fierceH5794 kingH4428 shall ruleH4910[H8799] over them, saithH5002[H8803] the LordH113, the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635.
[5]Et arescet aqua de mari, et fluvius desolabitur atque siccabitur. [5]And the watersH4325 shall failH5405[H8738] from the seaH3220, and the riverH5104 shall be wastedH2717[H8799] and dried upH3001.[H8804]
[6]Et deficient flumina, attenuabuntur et siccabuntur rivi aggerum, calamus et juncus marcescet. [6]And they shall turnH2186 the riversH5104 far awayH2186[H8689]; and the brooksH2975 of defenceH4693 shall be emptiedH1809[H8804] and dried upH2717[H8804]: the reedsH7070 and flagsH5488 shall witherH7060.[H8804]
[7]Nudabitur alveus rivi a fonte suo, et omnis sementis irrigua siccabitur, arescet, et non erit. [7]The paper reedsH6169 by the brooksH2975, by the mouthH6310 of the brooksH2975, and every thing sownH4218 by the brooksH2975, shall witherH3001[H8799], be driven awayH5086, and be no moreH8738.
[8]Et mœrebunt piscatores, et lugebunt omnes mittentes in flumen hamum; et expandentes rete super faciem aquarum emarcescent. [8]The fishersH1771 also shall mournH578[H8804], and all they that castH7993[H8688] angleH2443 into the brooksH2975 shall lamentH56[H8804], and they that spreadH6566[H8802] netsH4365 uponH6440 the watersH4325 shall languishH535.[H8797]
[9]Confundentur qui operabantur linum, pectentes et texentes subtilia. [9]Moreover they that workH5647[H8802] in fineH8305 flaxH6593, and they that weaveH707[H8802] networksH2355, shall be confoundedH954.[H8804]
[10]Et erunt irrigua ejus flaccentia: omnes qui faciebant lacunas ad capiendos pisces. [10]And they shall be brokenH1792[H8794] in the purposesH8356 thereof, all that makeH6213[H8802] sluicesH7938 and pondsH99 for fishH5315.
[11]Stulti principes Taneos, sapientes consiliarii Pharaonis dederunt consilium insipiens. Quomodo dicetis Pharaoni: Filius sapientium ego, filius regum antiquorum? [11]Surely the princesH8269 of ZoanH6814 are foolsH191, the counselH6098 of the wiseH2450 counsellorsH3289[H8802] of PharaohH6547 is become brutishH1197[H8737]: how sayH559[H8799] ye unto PharaohH6547, I am the sonH1121 of the wiseH2450, the sonH1121 of ancientH6924 kingsH4428?
[12]Ubi nunc sunt sapientes tui? annuntient tibi, et indicent quid cogitaverit Dominus exercituum super Ægyptum. [12]WhereH335 are they? whereH645 are thy wiseH2450 men? and let them tellH5046[H8686] thee now, and let them knowH3045[H8799] what the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635 hath purposedH3289[H8804] upon EgyptH4714.
[13]Stulti facti sunt principes Taneos, emarcuerunt principes Mempheos; deceperunt Ægyptum, angulum populorum ejus. [13]The princesH8269 of ZoanH6814 are become foolsH2973[H8738], the princesH8269 of NophH5297 are deceivedH5377[H8738]; they have also seducedH8582[H8689] EgyptH4714, even they that are the stayH6438 of the tribes thereofH7626.
[14]Dominus miscuit in medio ejus spiritum vertiginis; et errare fecerunt Ægyptum in omni opere suo, sicut errat ebrius et vomens. [14]The LORDH3068 hath mingledH4537[H8804] a perverseH5773 spiritH7307 in the midstH7130 thereof: and they have caused EgyptH4714 to errH8582[H8689] in every workH4639 thereof, as a drunkenH7910 man staggerethH8582[H8736] in his vomitH6892.
[15]Et non erit Ægypto opus quod faciat caput et caudam, incurvantem et refrenantem. [15]Neither shall there be any workH4639 for EgyptH4714, which the headH7218 or tailH2180, branchH3712 or rushH100, may doH6213.[H8799]
[16]In die illa erit Ægyptus quasi mulieres; et stupebunt, et timebunt a facie commotionis manus Domini exercituum, quam ipse movebit super eam. [16]In that dayH3117 shall EgyptH4714 be like unto womenH802: and it shall be afraidH2729[H8804] and fearH6342[H8804] becauseH6440 of the shakingH8573 of the handH3027 of the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, which he shakethH5130 over itH8688.
[17]Et erit terra Juda Ægypto in pavorem; omnis qui illius fuerit recordatus pavebit a facie consilii Domini exercituum, quod ipse cogitavit super eam. [17]And the landH127 of JudahH3063 shall be a terrorH2283 unto EgyptH4714, every one that maketh mentionH2142[H8686] thereof shall be afraidH6342[H8799] in himself, becauseH6440 of the counselH6098 of the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, which he hath determinedH3289 against itH8802.
[18]In die illa erunt quinque civitates in terra Ægypti loquentes lingua Chanaan, et jurantes per Dominum exercituum: Civitas solis vocabitur una. [18]In that dayH3117 shall fiveH2568 citiesH5892 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714 speakH1696[H8764] the languageH8193 of CanaanH3667, and swearH7650[H8737] to the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635; oneH259 shall be calledH559[H8735], The cityH5892 of destructionH2041.
[19]In die illa erit altare Domini in medio terræ Ægypti, et titulus Domini juxta terminum ejus. [19]In that dayH3117 shall there be an altarH4196 to the LORDH3068 in the midstH8432 of the landH776 of EgyptH4714, and a pillarH4676 atH681 the borderH1366 thereof to the LORDH3068.
[20]Erit in signum et in testimonium Domino exercituum in terra Ægypti; clamabunt enim ad Dominum a facie tribulationis, et mittet eis salvatorem et propugnatorem qui liberet eos. [20]And it shall be for a signH226 and for a witnessH5707 unto the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714: for they shall cryH6817[H8799] unto the LORDH3068 becauseH6440 of the oppressorsH3905[H8801], and he shall sendH7971[H8799] them a saviourH3467[H8688], and a great oneH7227, and he shall deliverH5337 themH8689.
[21]Et cognoscetur Dominus ab Ægypto, et cognoscent Ægyptii Dominum in die illa; et colent eum in hostiis et in muneribus; et vota vovebunt Domino, et solvent. [21]And the LORDH3068 shall be knownH3045[H8738] to EgyptH4714, and the EgyptiansH4714 shall knowH3045[H8804] the LORDH3068 in that dayH3117, and shall doH5647[H8804] sacrificeH2077 and oblationH4503; yea, they shall vowH5087[H8804] a vowH5088 unto the LORDH3068, and performH7999 itH8765.
[22]Et percutiet Dominus Ægyptum plaga, et sanabit eam; et revertentur ad Dominum, et placabitur eis, et sanabit eos. [22]And the LORDH3068 shall smiteH5062[H8804] EgyptH4714: he shall smiteH5062[H8800] and healH7495[H8800] it: and they shall returnH7725[H8804] even to the LORDH3068, and he shall be intreatedH6279[H8738] of them, and shall healH7495 themH8804.
[23]In die illa erit via de Ægypto in Assyrios; et intrabit Assyrius Ægyptum, et Ægyptius in Assyrios, et servient Ægyptii Assur. [23]In that dayH3117 shall there be a highwayH4546 out of EgyptH4714 to AssyriaH804, and the AssyrianH804 shall comeH935[H8804] into EgyptH4714, and the EgyptianH4714 into AssyriaH804, and the EgyptiansH4714 shall serveH5647[H8804] with the AssyriansH804.
[24]In die illa erit Israël tertius Ægyptio et Assyrio; benedictio in medio terræ [24]In that dayH3117 shall IsraelH3478 be the thirdH7992 with EgyptH4714 and with AssyriaH804, even a blessingH1293 in the midstH7130 of the landH776:
[25]cui benedixit Dominus exercituum, dicens: Benedictus populus meus Ægypti, et opus manuum mearum Assyrio; hæreditas autem mea Israël. [25]Whom the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635 shall blessH1288[H8765], sayingH559[H8800], BlessedH1288[H8803] be EgyptH4714 my peopleH5971, and AssyriaH804 the workH4639 of my handsH3027, and IsraelH3478 mine inheritanceH5159.
