[1]Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is that house that ye will build unto me? And where is that place of my rest? |
[1]Thus saith 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇: the heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool; where is the house that ye may build unto Me? And where is the place that may be My resting-place? |
[2]For all these things hath mine hand made, and all these things have been, saith the Lord: and to him will I look, even to him, that is poor, and of a contrite spirit and trembleth at my words. |
[2]For all these things hath My hand made, and so all these things came to be, saith 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇; but on this man will I look, even on him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at My word. |
[3]He that killeth a bullock, is as if he slew a man: he that sacrificeth a sheep, as if he cut off a dog's neck: he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine's blood: he that remembereth incense, as if he blessed an idol: yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations. |
[3]He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he broke a dog's neck; he that offereth a meal-offering, as if he offered swine's blood; he that maketh a memorial-offering of frankincense, as if he blessed an idol; according as they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations; |
[4]Therefore will I choose out their delusions, and I will bring their fear upon them, because I called, and none would answer: I spake and they would not hear: but they did evil in my sight, and chose the things which I would not. |
[4]Even so I will choose their mockings, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spoke, they did not hear, but they did that which was evil in Mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not. |
[5]Hear the word of the Lord, all ye that tremble at his word, Your brethren that hated you, and cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the Lord be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed. |
[5]Hear the word of 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇, ye that tremble at His word: your brethren that hate you, that cast you out for My name's sake, have said: 'Let 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇 be glorified, that we may gaze upon your joy', but they shall be ashamed. |
[6]A voice soundeth from the city, even a voice from the temple, the voice of the Lord, that recompenseth his enemies fully. |
[6]Hark! an uproar from the city, Hark! it cometh from the temple, Hark! 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇 rendereth recompense to His enemies. |
[7]Before she travailed, she brought forth: and before her pain came, she was delivered of a man-child. |
[7]Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man-child. |
[8]Who hath heard such a thing? Who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be brought forth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children. |
[8]Who hath heard such a thing? Who hath seen such things? Is a land born in one day? Is a nation brought forth at once? For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children. |
[9]Shall I cause to travail, and not bring forth? Shall I cause to bring forth, and shall be barren, saith thy God? |
[9]Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇; shall I that cause to bring forth shut the womb? saith thy God. |
[10]Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her, |
[10]Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her; rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her; |
[11]That ye may suck and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolation: that ye may milk out and be delighted with the brightness of her glory. |
[11]That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breast of her consolations; that ye may drink deeply with delight of the abundance of her glory. |
[12]For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will extend peace over her like a flood, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be born upon her sides, and be joyful upon her knees. |
[12]For thus saith 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇: Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the wealth of the nations like an overflowing stream, and ye shall suck thereof: ye shall be borne upon the side, and shall be dandled upon the knees. |
[13]As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you, and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem. |
[13]As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem. |
[14]And when ye see this, your hearts shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the Lord shall be known among his servants, and his indignation against his enemies. |
[14]And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like young grass; and the hand of 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇 shall be known toward His servants, and He will have indignation against His enemies. |
[15]For behold, the Lord will come with fire, and his chariots like a whirlwind, that he may recompense his anger with wrath, and his indignation with the flame of fire. |
[15]For, behold, 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇 will come in fire, and His chariots shall be like the whirlwind; to render His anger with fury, and His rebuke with flames of fire. |
[16]For the Lord will judge with fire, and with his sword all flesh, and the slain of the Lord shall be many. |
[16]For by fire will 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇 contend, and by His sword with all flesh; and the slain of 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇 shall be many. |
[17]They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst eating swine's flesh, and such abomination, even the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the Lord. |
[17]They that sanctify themselves and puri themselves to go unto the gardens, behind one in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the detestable thing, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇. |
[18]For I will visit their works, and their imaginations: for it shall come that I will gather all nations, and tongues, and they shall come, and see my glory. |
[18]For I know their works and the thoughts; the time cometh, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and shall see My glory. |
[19]And I will set a sign among them, and will send those that escape of them, unto the nations of Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, and to them that draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory, and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles. |
[19]And I will work a sign among them, and I will send such as escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard My fame, neither have seen My glory; and they shall declare My glory among the nations. |
[20]And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the Lord out of all nations, upon horses, and in chariots, and in horse litters, and upon mules, and swift beasts, to Jerusalem mine holy mountain, saith the Lord, as the children of Israel, offer in a clean vessel in the house of the Lord. |
[20]And they shall bring all your brethren out of all the nations for an offering unto 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇, upon horses, and in chariots, and in fitters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to My holy mountain Jerusalem, saith 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇, as the children of Israel bring their offering in a clean vessel into the house of 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇. |
[21]And I will take of them for priests, and for Levites, saith the Lord. |
[21]And of them also will I take for the priests and for the Levites, saith 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇. |
[22]For as the new heavens, and the new earth which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name continue. |
[22]For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before Me, saith 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇, so shall your seed and your name remain. |
[23]And from month to month, and from Sabbath to Sabbath shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord. |
[23]And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before Me, saith 𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇. |
[24]And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcasses of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched, and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh. |
[24]And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcasses of the men that have rebelled against Me; for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh. |
