[1]And it came to pass in those days, when there was no king in Israel, that there was a certain Levite sojourning on the side of mount Ephraim, who took to him a concubine out of Bethlehemjudah. |

[2]And his concubine played the whore against him, and went away from him unto her father's house to Bethlehemjudah, and was there four whole months. |
| [3]καίC ἀναἵστημιVHI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM ἀνήρN3-NSM αὐτόςRD-GSF καίC πορεύομαιVCI-API3S ὀπίσωP αὐτόςRD-GSF ὁRA-GSN λαλέωVA-AAN ἐπίP καρδίαN1A-ASF αὐτόςRD-GSF ὁRA-GSN ἐπιστρέφωVA-AAN αὐτόςRD-ASF αὐτόςRD-DSM καίC νεανίαςN1T-NSM αὐτόςRD-GSM μετάP αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC ζεῦγοςN3E-ASN ὄνοςN2-GPM καίC ὅδεRD-NSF εἰςφέρωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-ASM εἰςP οἶκοςN2-ASM πατήρN3-GSM αὐτόςRD-GSF καίC ὁράωVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-ASM ὁRA-NSM πατήρN3-NSM ὁRA-GSF νεᾶνιςN3D-GSF καίC εὐφραίνωVCI-API3S εἰςP συνάντησιςN3I-ASF αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[3]And her husband arose, and went after her, to speak friendly unto her, and to bring her again, having his servant with him, and a couple of asses: and she brought him into her father's house: and when the father of the damsel saw him, he rejoiced to meet him. |
| [4]καίC καταἔχωVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-ASM ὁRA-NSM γαμβρόςN2-NSM αὐτόςRD-GSM ὁRA-NSM πατήρN3-NSM ὁRA-GSF νεᾶνιςN3D-GSF καίC καταἵζωVAI-AAI3S μετάP αὐτόςRD-GSM ἐπίP τρεῖςA3-APF ἡμέραN1A-APF καίC ἐσθίωVBI-AAI3P καίC πίνωVBI-AAI3P καίC αὐλίζωVCI-API3P ἐκεῖD |
[4]And his father in law, the damsel's father, retained him; and he abode with him three days: so they did eat and drink, and lodged there. |
| [5]καίC γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S ὁRA-DSF ἡμέραN1A-DSF ὁRA-DSF τέταρτοςA1-DSF καίC ὀρθρίζωVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-ASN πρωΐD καίC ἀναἵστημιVHI-AAI3S ὁRA-GSN πορεύομαιVC-APN καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM πατήρN3-NSM ὁRA-GSF νεᾶνιςN3D-GSF πρόςP ὁRA-ASM νυμφίοςN2-ASM αὐτόςRD-GSM στηρίζωVA-AAD2S σύRP-GS ὁRA-ASF καρδίαN1A-ASF ψωμόςN2-DSM ἄρτοςN2-GSM καίC μετάP οὗτοςRD-ASN πορεύομαιVF-FMI2P |
[5]And it came to pass on the fourth day, when they arose early in the morning, that he rose up to depart: and the damsel's father said unto his son in law, Comfort thine heart with a morsel of bread, and afterward go your way. |
| [6]καίC καταἵζωVAI-AAI3S καίC ἐσθίωVBI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM δύοM ἐπίP ὁRA-ASN αὐτόςRD-ASN καίC πίνωVBI-AAI3P καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM πατήρN3-NSM ὁRA-GSF νεᾶνιςN3D-GSF πρόςP ὁRA-ASM ἀνήρN3-ASM ἄγωV1-PAD2S δήX αὐλίζωVC-APD2S καίC ἀγαθύνωVC-FPI3S ὁRA-NSF καρδίαN1A-NSF σύRP-GS |
[6]And they sat down, and did eat and drink both of them together: for the damsel's father had said unto the man, Be content, I pray thee, and tarry all night, and let thine heart be merry. |
| [7]καίC ἀναἵστημιVHI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM ἀνήρN3-NSM ὁRA-GSN πορεύομαιV1-PMN καίC βιάζομαιVAI-AMI3S αὐτόςRD-ASM ὁRA-NSM γαμβρόςN2-NSM αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC καταἵζωVAI-AAI3S καίC αὐλίζωVCI-API3S ἐκεῖD |
[7]And when the man rose up to depart, his father in law urged him: therefore he lodged there again. |
| [8]καίC ὀρθρίζωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASN πρωΐD ὁRA-DSF ἡμέραN1A-DSF ὁRA-DSF πέμπτοςA1-DSF ὁRA-GSN πορεύομαιVC-APN καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM πατήρN3-NSM ὁRA-GSF νεᾶνιςN3D-GSF στηρίζωVA-AAD2S δήX ὁRA-ASF καρδίαN1A-ASF σύRP-GS καίC στρατεύωVA-AAD2S ἕωςP κλίνωVA-AAN ὁRA-ASF ἡμέραN1A-ASF καίC ἐσθίωVBI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM δύοM |
[8]And he arose early in the morning on the fifth day to depart; and the damsel's father said, Comfort thine heart, I pray thee. And they tarried until afternoon, and they did eat both of them. |

[9]And when the man rose up to depart, he, and his concubine, and his servant, his father in law, the damsel's father, said unto him, Behold, now the day draweth toward evening, I pray you tarry all night: behold, the day groweth to an end, lodge here, that thine heart may be merry; and to morrow get you early on your way, that thou mayest go home. |

[10]But the man would not tarry that night, but he rose up and departed, and came over against Jebus, which is Jerusalem; and there were with him two asses saddled, his concubine also was with him. |
| [11]καίC ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P ἕωςP *ιεβουςN--GSF καίC ὁRA-NSF ἡμέραN1A-NSF προβαίνωVX-XAI3S σφόδραD καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM νεανίαςN1T-NSM πρόςP ὁRA-ASM κύριοςN2-ASM αὐτόςRD-GSM δεῦροD δήX καίC ἐκκλίνωV1-PAS1P εἰςP πόλιςN3I-ASF ὁRA-GSM *ιεβουσιN--GSM οὗτοςRD-ASF καίC αὐλίζωVC-APS1P ἐνP αὐτόςRD-DSF |
[11]And when they were by Jebus, the day was far spent; and the servant said unto his master, Come, I pray thee, and let us turn in into this city of the Jebusites, and lodge in it. |
| [12]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S πρόςP αὐτόςRD-ASM ὁRA-NSM κύριοςN2-NSM αὐτόςRD-GSM οὐD ἐκκλίνωVF2-FAI1P εἰςP πόλιςN3I-ASF ἀλλότριοςA1A-ASF ἐνP ὅςRR-DSF οὐD εἰμίV9-PAI3S ἀπόP υἱόςN2-GPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM ὧδεD καίC παραἔρχομαιVF-FMI1P ἕωςP *γαβααN--GSF |
[12]And his master said unto him, We will not turn aside hither into the city of a stranger, that is not of the children of Israel; we will pass over to Gibeah. |
| [13]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-DSM νεανίαςN1T-DSM αὐτόςRD-GSM δεῦροD καίC ἐγγίζωVA-AAS1P εἷςA3-DSM ὁRA-GPM τόποςN2-GPM καίC αὐλίζωVC-FPI1P ἐνP *γαβααN--DSF ἤC ἐνP *ραμαN--DSF |
[13]And he said unto his servant, Come, and let us draw near to one of these places to lodge all night, in Gibeah, or in Ramah. |
| [14]καίC παραἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P καίC πορεύομαιVCI-API3P καίC δύωVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM ἥλιοςN2-NSM αὐτόςRD-DPM ἔχωV1-PMPAPN ὁRA-GSF *γαβααN--GSF ὅςRR-NSF εἰμίV9-PAI3S ὁRA-DSM *βενιαμίνN--DSM |
[14]And they passed on and went their way; and the sun went down upon them when they were by Gibeah, which belongeth to Benjamin. |
| [15]καίC ἐκκλίνωVAI-AAI3P ἐκεῖD ὁRA-GSN εἰςἔρχομαιVB-AAN αὐλίζωVC-APN ἐνP *γαβααN--DSF καίC εἰςἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P καίC καταἵζωVAI-AAI3P ἐνP ὁRA-DSF πλατύςA3U-DSF ὁRA-GSF πόλιςN3I-GSF καίC οὐD εἰμίV9-IAI3S ἀνήρN3-NSM συνἄγωV1-PAPNSM αὐτόςRD-APM εἰςP οἰκίαN1A-ASF αὐλίζωVC-APN |
[15]And they turned aside thither, to go in and to lodge in Gibeah: and when he went in, he sat him down in a street of the city: for there was no man that took them into his house to lodging. |
| [16]καίC ἰδούI ἀνήρN3-NSM πρεσβύτηςN1M-NSM ἄρχωV1I-IMI3S ἐκP ἔργονN2N-GPN αὐτόςRD-GSM ἐκP ἀγρόςN2-GSM ἐνP ἑσπέραN1A-DSF καίC ὁRA-NSM ἀνήρN3-NSM εἰμίV9-IAI3S ἐκP ὄροςN3E-GSN *ἐφράιμN--GSM καίC αὐτόςRD-NSM παραοἰκέωV2I-IAI3S ἐνP *γαβααN--DSF καίC ὁRA-NPM ἀνήρN3-NPM ὁRA-GSM τόποςN2-GSM υἱόςN2-NPM *βενιαμίνN--GSM |
[16]And, behold, there came an old man from his work out of the field at even, which was also of mount Ephraim; and he sojourned in Gibeah: but the men of the place were Benjamites. |
| [17]καίC αἴρωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-APM ὀφθαλμόςN2-APM αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC ὁράωVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASM ὁδοιπόροςA1B-ASM ἀνήρN3-ASM ἐνP ὁRA-DSF πλατύςA3U-DSF ὁRA-GSF πόλιςN3I-GSF καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM ἀνήρN3-NSM ὁRA-NSM πρεσβύτηςN1M-NSM ποῦD πορεύομαιV1-PMS2S καίC πόθενD ἔρχομαιV1-PMS2S |
[17]And when he had lifted up his eyes, he saw a wayfaring man in the street of the city: and the old man said, Whither goest thou? and whence comest thou? |
| [18]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S πρόςP αὐτόςRD-ASM παραπορεύομαιV1-PMI1S ἐγώRP-NP ἀπόP *βηθλεεμN--GS *ιουδαN--GSM ἕωςP μηρόςN2-GPM ὄροςN3E-GSN *ἐφράιμN--GSM ἐκεῖθενD ἐγώRP-NS εἰμίV9-PAI1S καίC πορεύομαιVCI-API1S ἕωςP *βηθλεεμN--GS *ιουδαN--GSM καίC εἰςP ὁRA-ASM οἶκοςN2-ASM ἐγώRP-GS ἐγώRP-NS πορεύομαιV1-PMI1S καίC οὐD εἰμίV9-PAI3S ἀνήρN3-NSM συνἄγωV1-PAPNSM ἐγώRP-AS εἰςP ὁRA-ASF οἰκίαN1A-ASF |
[18]And he said unto him, We are passing from Bethlehemjudah toward the side of mount Ephraim; from thence am I: and I went to Bethlehemjudah, but I am now going to the house of the LORD; and there is no man that receiveth me to house. |
| [19]καίC γέX ἄχυρονN2N-NPN καίC χόρτασμαN3M-NPN εἰμίV9-PAI3S ὁRA-DPM ὄνοςN2-DPM ἐγώRP-GP καίC ἄρτοςN2-NPM καίC οἶνοςN2-NSM εἰμίV9-PAI3S ἐγώRP-DS καίC ὁRA-DSF παιδίσκηN1-DSF καίC ὁRA-DSM νεανίσκοςN2-DSM μετάP ὁRA-GPN παιδίονN2N-GPN σύRP-GS οὐD εἰμίV9-PAI3S ὑστέρημαN3M-NSN πᾶςA3-GSN πρᾶγμαN3M-GSN |
[19]Yet there is both straw and provender for our asses; and there is bread and wine also for me, and for thy handmaid, and for the young man which is with thy servants: there is no want of any thing. |

[20]And the old man said, Peace be with thee; howsoever let all thy wants lie upon me; only lodge not in the street. |

[21]So he brought him into his house, and gave provender unto the asses: and they washed their feet, and did eat and drink. |

[22]Now as they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, certain sons of Belial, beset the house round about, and beat at the door, and spake to the master of the house, the old man, saying, Bring forth the man that came into thine house, that we may know him. |
| [23]καίC ἐκἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S πρόςP αὐτόςRD-APM ὁRA-NSM ἀνήρN3-NSM ὁRA-NSM κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-GSM οἶκοςN2-GSM καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S μήD ἀδελφόςN2-VPM μήD κακοποιέωVA-AAS2P δήX μετάP ὁRA-ASN εἰςἔρχομαιVB-AAN ὁRA-ASM ἀνήρN3-ASM οὗτοςRD-ASM εἰςP ὁRA-ASF οἰκίαN1A-ASF ἐγώRP-GS μήD ποιέωVA-AAS2P ὁRA-ASF ἀφροσύνηN1-ASF οὗτοςRD-ASF |
[23]And the man, the master of the house, went out unto them, and said unto them, Nay, my brethren, nay, I pray you, do not so wickedly; seeing that this man is come into mine house, do not this folly. |
| [24]ὁράωVB-AAD2S ὁRA-NSF θυγάτηρN3-NSF ἐγώRP-GS ὁRA-NSF παρθένοςN2-NSF καίC ὁRA-NSF παλλακήN1-NSF αὐτόςRD-GSM ἐκἄγωVF-FAI1S αὐτόςRD-APF καίC ταπεινόωVA-AAD2P αὐτόςRD-APF καίC ποιέωVA-AAD2P αὐτόςRD-DPF ὁRA-ASN ἀγαθόςA1-ASN ἐνP ὀφθαλμόςN2-DPM σύRP-GP καίC ὁRA-DSM ἀνήρN3-DSM οὗτοςRD-DSM οὐD ποιέωVF-FAI2P ὁRA-ASN ῥῆμαN3M-ASN ὁRA-GSF ἀφροσύνηN1-GSF οὗτοςRD-GSF |
[24]Behold, here is my daughter a maiden, and his concubine; them I will bring out now, and humble ye them, and do with them what seemeth good unto you: but unto this man do not so vile a thing. |
| [25]καίC οὐD εὐδοκέωVA-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM ἀνήρN3-NPM ὁRA-GSN εἰςἀκούωVA-AAN αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC ἐπιλαμβάνωVBI-AMI3S ὁRA-NSM ἀνήρN3-NSM ὁRA-GSF παλλακήN1-GSF αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC ἐκἄγωVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-ASF πρόςP αὐτόςRD-APM ἔξωD καίC γιγνώσκωVZI-AAI3P αὐτόςRD-ASF καίC ἐνπαίζωV1I-IAI3P ἐνP αὐτόςRD-DSF ὅλοςA1-ASF ὁRA-ASF νύξN3-ASF ἕωςP πρωΐD καίC ἐκ ἀποστέλλωVAI-AAI3P αὐτόςRD-ASF ὡςC ἀναβαίνωVZI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASN πρωΐD |
[25]But the men would not hearken to him: so the man took his concubine, and brought her forth unto them; and they knew her, and abused her all the night until the morning: and when the day began to spring, they let her go. |

[26]Then came the woman in the dawning of the day, and fell down at the door of the man's house where her lord was, till it was light. |

[27]And her lord rose up in the morning, and opened the doors of the house, and went out to go his way: and, behold, the woman his concubine was fallen down at the door of the house, and her hands were upon the threshold. |

[28]And he said unto her, Up, and let us be going. But none answered. Then the man took her up upon an ass, and the man rose up, and gat him unto his place. |

[29]And when he was come into his house, he took a knife, and laid hold on his concubine, and divided her, together with her bones, into twelve pieces, and sent her into all the coasts of Israel. |

[30]And it was so, that all that saw it said, There was no such deed done nor seen from the day that the children of Israel came up out of the land of Egypt unto this day: consider of it, take advice, and speak your minds. |
