[1]καίC ἐκἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P πᾶςA3-NPM ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM καίC ἐκἐκκλησιάζωVS-API3S ὁRA-NSF συναγωγήN1-NSF ὡςC ἀνήρN3-NSM εἷςA3-NSM ἀπόP *δανN--GSM καίC ἕωςP *βηρσαβεεN--GS καίC γῆN1-NSF ὁRA-GSM *γαλαάδN--GSM πρόςP κύριοςN2-ASM εἰςP *μασσηφαN--DSF [1]Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation was assembled as one man, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, with the land of Gilead, to the LORD in Mizpeh.
[2]καίC ἵστημιVCI-API3P κατάP πρόσωπονN2N-ASN κύριοςN2-GSM πᾶςA1S-NPF ὁRA-NPF φυλήN1-NPF ὁRA-GSM *ἰσραήλN--GSM ἐνP ἐκκλησίαN1A-DSF ὁRA-GSM λαόςN2-GSM ὁRA-GSM θεόςN2-GSM τετρακόσιοιA1A-NPF χιλιάςN3D-NPF ἀνήρN3-GPM πεζόςA1-GPM ἕλκωV1-PAPNPM ῥομφαίαN1A-ASF [2]And the chief of all the people, even of all the tribes of Israel, presented themselves in the assembly of the people of God, four hundred thousand footmen that drew sword.
[3]καίC ἀκούωVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *βενιαμίνN--GSM ὅτιC ἀναβαίνωVZI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM εἰςP *μασσηφαN--ASF καίC ἔρχομαιVB-AAPNPM εἶπονVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM λαλέωVA-AAD2P ποῦD γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S ὁRA-NSF πονηρίαN1A-NSF οὗτοςRD-NSF [3](Now the children of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel were gone up to Mizpeh.) Then said the children of Israel, Tell us, how was this wickedness?
[4]καίC ἀποκρίνωVCI-API3S ὁRA-NSM ἀνήρN3-NSM ὁRA-NSM *λευίτηςN1M-NSM ὁRA-NSM ἀνήρN3-NSM ὁRA-GSF γυνήN3K-GSF ὁRA-GSF φονεύωVC-APPNSF καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S εἰςP *γαβααN--ASF ὁRA-GSF *βενιαμίνN--GSM ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P ἐγώRP-NS καίC ὁRA-NSF παλλακήN1-NSF ἐγώRP-GS ὁRA-GSN αὐλίζωVC-APN [4]And the Levite, the husband of the woman that was slain, answered and said, I came into Gibeah that belongeth to Benjamin, I and my concubine, to lodge.
[5]καίC ἀναἵστημιVHI-AAI3P ἐπίP ἐγώRP-AS ὁRA-NPM ἀνήρN3-NPM ὁRA-GSF *γαβααN--GSF καίC κυκλόωVAI-AAI3P ἐπίP ἐγώRP-AS ἐπίP ὁRA-ASF οἰκίαN1A-ASF νύξN3-GSF ἐγώRP-AS θέλωVAI-AAI3P φονεύωVA-AAN καίC ὁRA-ASF παλλακήN1-ASF ἐγώRP-GS ταπεινόωVAI-AAI3P καίC ἀποθνήσκωVBI-AAI3S [5]And the men of Gibeah rose against me, and surrounded the house upon me by night, and thought to have slain me: and my concubine have they forced, that she is dead.
[6]καίC κρατέωVAI-AAI1S ὁRA-ASF παλλακήN1-ASF ἐγώRP-GS καίC μελίζωVAI-AAI1S αὐτόςRD-ASF καίC ἀποστέλλωVAI-AAI1S ἐνP πᾶςA3-DSN ὅριονN2N-DSN κληρονομίαN1A-GSF υἱόςN2-GPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM ὅτιC ποιέωVAI-AAI3P ζεμαN--ASN καίC ἀπόπτωμαN3M-ASN ἐνP *ἰσραήλN--DSM [6]And I took my concubine, and cut her in pieces, and sent her throughout all the country of the inheritance of Israel: for they have committed lewdness and folly in Israel.
[7]ἰδούI πᾶςA3-NPM σύRP-NP υἱόςN2-NPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM δίδωμιVO-AAD2P ἑαυτοῦRD-DPM λόγοςN2-ASM καίC βουλήN1-ASF ἐκεῖD [7]Behold, ye are all children of Israel; give here your advice and counsel.
[8]καίC ἀναἵστημιVHI-AAI3S πᾶςA3-NSM ὁRA-NSM λαόςN2-NSM ὡςC ἀνήρN3-NSM εἷςA3-NSM λέγωV1-PAPNPM οὐD ἀποἔρχομαιVF-FMI1P ἀνήρN3-NSM εἰςP σκήνωμαN3M-ASN αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC οὐD ἐπιστρέφωVF-FAI1P ἀνήρN3-NSM εἰςP οἶκοςN2-ASM αὐτόςRD-GSM [8]And all the people arose as one man, saying, We will not any of us go to his tent, neither will we any of us turn into his house:
[9]καίC νῦνD οὗτοςRD-NSN ὁRA-NSN ῥῆμαN3M-NSN ὅςRR-ASN ποιέωVC-FPI3S ὁRA-DSF *γαβααN--DSF ἀναβαίνωVF-FMI1P ἐπίP αὐτόςRD-ASF ἐνP κλῆροςN2-DSM [9]But now this shall be the thing which we will do to Gibeah: we will go up by lot against it;
[10]πλήνD λαμβάνωVF-FMI1P δέκαM ἀνήρN3-APM ὁRA-DPM ἑκατόνM εἰςP πᾶςA1S-APF φυλήN1-APF *ἰσραήλN--GSM καίC ἑκατόνM ὁRA-DPM χίλιοιA1A-DPM καίC χίλιοιA1A-APM ὁRA-DPM μύριοιA1A-DPM λαμβάνωVB-AAN ἐπισιτισμόςN2-ASM ὁRA-GSN ποιέωVA-AAN ἔρχομαιVB-AAN αὐτόςRD-APM εἰςP *γαβααN--ASF *βενιαμίνN--GSM ποιέωVA-AAN αὐτόςRD-DSF κατάP πᾶςA3-ASN ὁRA-ASN ἀπόπτωμαN3M-ASN ὅςRR-ASN ποιέωVAI-AAI3S ἐνP *ἰσραήλN--DSM [10]And we will take ten men of a hundred throughout all the tribes of Israel, and a hundred of a thousand, and a thousand out of ten thousand, to fetch provisions for the people, that they may do, when they come to Gibeah of Benjamin, according to all the folly that they have wrought in Israel.
[11]καίC συνἄγωVQI-API3S πᾶςA3-NSM ἀνήρN3-NSM *ἰσραήλN--GSM εἰςP ὁRA-ASF πόλιςN3I-ASF ὡςC ἀνήρN3-NSM εἷςA3-NSM [11]So all the men of Israel were gathered against the city, knit together as one man.
[12]καίC ἀποστέλλωVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPF φυλήN1-NPF *ἰσραήλN--GSM ἀνήρN3-APM ἐνP πᾶςA1S-DSF φυλήN1-DSF *βενιαμίνN--GSM λέγωV1-PAPNPM τίςRI-NSF ὁRA-NSF πονηρίαN1A-NSF οὗτοςRD-NSF ὁRA-NSF γίγνομαιVB-AMPNSF ἐνP σύRP-DP [12]And the tribes of Israel sent men through all the tribe of Benjamin, saying, What wickedness is this that is done among you?
[13]καίC νῦνD δίδωμιVO-AAD2P ὁRA-APM ἀνήρN3-APM υἱόςN2-APM παράνομοςA1B-GPM ὁRA-APM ἐνP *γαβααN--DSF καίC θανατόωVF-FAI1P αὐτόςRD-APM καίC ἐκκαθαρίζωVF2-FAI1P πονηρίαN1A-ASF ἀπόP *ἰσραήλN--GSM καίC οὐD εὐδοκέωVA-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *βενιαμίνN--GSM ἀκούωVA-AAN ὁRA-GSF φωνήN1-GSF ὁRA-GPM ἀδελφόςN2-GPM αὐτόςRD-GPM υἱόςN2-GPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM [13]Now therefore deliver us the men, the children of Belial, who are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and banish evil from Israel. But the children of Benjamin would not hearken to the voice of their brethren, the children of Israel:
[14]καίC συνἄγωVQI-API3P ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *βενιαμίνN--GSM ἀπόP ὁRA-GPF πόλιςN3I-GPF αὐτόςRD-GPM εἰςP *γαβααN--ASF ἐκἔρχομαιVB-AAN εἰςP παράταξιςN3I-ASF πρόςP υἱόςN2-APM *ἰσραήλN--GSM [14]But the children of Benjamin assembled out of the cities to Gibeah, to go out to battle against the children of Israel.
[15]καίC ἐπισκέπτομαιVDI-API3P ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *βενιαμίνN--GSM ἐνP ὁRA-DSF ἡμέραN1A-DSF ἐκεῖνοςRD-DSF ἀπόP ὁRA-GPM πόλιςN3I-GPF εἴκοσιM τρεῖςA3-NPM χιλιάςN3D-NPF ἀνήρN3-NSM ἕλκωV1-PAPNSM ῥομφαίαN1A-ASF ἐκτόςP ὁRA-GPM οἰκέωV2-PAPGPM ὁRA-ASF *γαβααN--ASF ὅςRR-NPM ἐπισκέπτομαιVDI-API3P ἑπτακόσιοιA1-NPM ἀνήρN3-NPM ἐκλεκτόςA1-NPM [15]And the children of Benjamin were numbered at that time out of the cities twenty and six thousand men that drew sword, besides the inhabitants of Gibeah, who were numbered seven hundred chosen men.
[16]ἐκP πᾶςA3-GSM λαόςN2-GSM ἀμφοτεροδέξιοςA1B-NPM πᾶςA3-NPM οὗτοςRD-NPM σφενδονήτηςN1M-NPM ἐνP λίθοςN2-DPM πρόςP θρίξN3-ASF καίC οὐD ἐκἁμαρτάνωV1-PAPNPM [16]Among all this people there were seven hundred chosen men left-handed; every one could sling stones to a hair-breadth, and not miss.
[17]καίC ἀνήρN3-NSM *ἰσραήλN--GSM ἐπισκέπτομαιVDI-API3P ἐκτόςP ὁRA-GSM *βενιαμίνN--GSM τετρακόσιοιA1A-NPF χιλιάςN3D-NPF ἀνήρN3-GPM ἕλκωV1-PAPGPM ῥομφαίαN1A-ASF πᾶςA3-NPM οὗτοςRD-NPM ἀνήρN3-NPM παράταξιςN3I-GSF [17]And the men of Israel, besides Benjamin, were numbered four hundred thousand men that drew sword: all these were men of war.
[18]καίC ἀναἵστημιVHI-AAI3P καίC ἀναβαίνωVZI-AAI3P εἰςP *βαιθηλN--ASF καίC ἐρωτάωVAI-AAI3P ἐνP ὁRA-DSM θεόςN2-DSM καίC εἶπονVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM τίςRI-NSM ἀναβαίνωVF-FMI3S ἐγώRP-DP ἐνP ἀρχήN1-DSF εἰςP παράταξιςN3I-ASF πρόςP υἱόςN2-APM *βενιαμίνN--GSM καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM *ἰούδαςN1T-NSM ἐνP ἀρχήN1-DSF ἀναβαίνωVF-FMI3S ἀποἡγέομαιV2-PMPNSM [18]And the children of Israel arose, and went up to the house of God, and asked counsel of God, and said, Which of us shall go up first to the battle against the children of Benjamin? And the LORD said, Judah shall go up first.
[19]καίC ἀναἵστημιVHI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM ὁRA-ASN πρωΐD καίC παρα ἐνβάλλωVBI-AAI3P ἐπίP *γαβααN--ASF [19]And the children of Israel rose in the morning, and encamped against Gibeah.
[20]καίC ἐκἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P πᾶςA3-NSM ἀνήρN3-NSM *ἰσραήλN--GSM εἰςP παράταξιςN3I-ASF πρόςP *βενιαμίνN--ASM καίC συνἅπτωVAI-AAI3P αὐτόςRD-DPM ἐπίP *γαβααN--ASF [20]And the men of Israel went out to battle against Benjamin; and the men of Israel put themselves in array to fight against them at Gibeah.
[21]καίC ἐκἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *βενιαμίνN--GSM ἀπόP ὁRA-GSF *γαβααN--GSF καίC διαφθείρωVAI-AAI3P ἐνP *ἰσραήλN--DSM ἐνP ὁRA-DSF ἡμέραN1A-DSF ἐκεῖνοςRD-DSF δύοM καίC εἴκοσιM χιλιάςN3D-APF ἀνήρN3-GPM ἐπίP ὁRA-ASF γῆN1-ASF [21]And the children of Benjamin came forth from Gibeah, and destroyed down to the ground of the Israelites that day twenty and two thousand men.
[22]καίC ἐνἰσχύωVA-AAI3P ἀνήρN3-NSM *ἰσραήλN--GSM καίC προςτίθημιVAI-AAI3P συνἅπτωVA-AAN παράταξιςN3I-ASF ἐνP ὁRA-DSM τόποςN2-DSM ὅπουD συνἅπτωVAI-AAI3P ἐνP ὁRA-DSF ἡμέραN1A-DSF ὁRA-DSF πρῶτοςA1-DSFS [22]And the people the men of Israel encouraged themselves, and set their battle again in array in the place where they put themselves in array the first day.
[23]καίC ἀναβαίνωVZI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM καίC κλαίωVAI-AAI3P ἐνώπιονP κύριοςN2-GSM ἕωςP ἑσπέραN1A-GSF καίC ἐρωτάωVAI-AAI3P ἐνP κύριοςN2-DSM λέγωV1-PAPNPM εἰX προςτίθημιVE-AAS1P ἐγγίζωVA-AAN εἰςP παράταξιςN3I-ASF πρόςP υἱόςN2-APM *βενιαμίνN--GSM ἀδελφόςN2-APM ἐγώRP-GP καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ἀναβαίνωVZ-AAD2P πρόςP αὐτόςRD-APM [23](And the children of Israel went up and wept before the LORD until evening, and asked counsel of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up again to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother? And the LORD said, Go up against him.)
[24]καίC προςἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM πρόςP υἱόςN2-APM *βενιαμίνN--GSM ἐνP ὁRA-DSF ἡμέραN1A-DSF ὁRA-DSF δεύτεροςA1A-DSF [24]And the children of Israel came near against the children of Benjamin the second day.
[25]καίC ἐκἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *βενιαμίνN--GSM εἰςP συνάντησιςN3I-ASF αὐτόςRD-DPM ἀπόP ὁRA-GSF *γαβααN--GSF ἐνP ὁRA-DSF ἡμέραN1A-DSF ὁRA-DSF δεύτεροςA1A-DSF καίC διαφθείρωVAI-AAI3P ἀπόP υἱόςN2-GPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM ἔτιD ὀκτωκαίδεκαM χιλιάςN3D-APF ἀνήρN3-GPM ἐπίP ὁRA-ASF γῆN1-ASF πᾶςA3-NPM οὗτοςRD-NPM ἕλκωV1-PAPNPM ῥομφαίαN1A-ASF [25]And Benjamin went forth against them out of Gibeah the second day, and destroyed down to the ground of the children of Israel again eighteen thousand men; all these drew the sword.
[26]καίC ἀναβαίνωVZI-AAI3P πᾶςA3-NPM ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM καίC πᾶςA3-NSM ὁRA-NSM λαόςN2-NSM καίC ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P εἰςP *βαιθηλN--ASF καίC κλαίωVAI-AAI3P καίC καταἵζωVAI-AAI3P ἐκεῖD ἐνώπιονP κύριοςN2-GSM καίC νηστεύωVAI-AAI3P ἐνP ὁRA-DSF ἡμέραN1A-DSF ἐκεῖνοςRD-DSF ἕωςP ἑσπέραN1A-GSF καίC ἀναφέρωVAI-AAI3P ὁλοκαύτωσιςN3I-NPF καίC τέλειοςA1A-GSF ἐνώπιονP κύριοςN2-GSM [26]Then all the children of Israel, and all the people, went up, and came to the house of God, and wept, and sat there before the LORD, and fasted that day until evening, and offered burnt-offerings and peace-offerings before the LORD.
[27]ὅτιC ἐκεῖD κιβωτόςN2-NSF διαθήκηN1-GSF κύριοςN2-GSM ὁRA-GSM θεόςN2-GSM [27]And the children of Israel inquired of the LORD, (for the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days,
[28]καίC *φινεεςN--NSM υἱόςN2-NSM *ελεαζαρN--GSM υἱόςN2-GSM *ἀαρώνN--GSM παραἵστημιVXI-XAPNSM ἐνώπιονP αὐτόςRD-GSF ἐνP ὁRA-DPF ἡμέραN1A-DPF ἐκεῖνοςRD-DPF καίC ἐπιἐρωτάωVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM ἐνP κύριοςN2-DSM λέγωV1-PAPNPM εἰX προςτίθημιVE-AAS1P ἔτιD ἐκἔρχομαιVB-AAN εἰςP παράταξιςN3I-ASF πρόςP υἱόςN2-APM *βενιαμίνN--GSM ἀδελφόςN2-APM ἐγώRP-GP ἤC ἐπιἔχωVB-AAS1P καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ἀναβαίνωVZ-AAD2P ὅτιC αὔριονD δίδωμιVF-FAI1S αὐτόςRD-APM εἰςP ὁRA-APF χείρN3-APF σύRP-GP [28]And Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days,) saying, Shall I yet again go out to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother, or shall I cease? And the LORD said, Go up; for to-morrow I will deliver them into thy hand.
[29]καίC τίθημιVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM ἔνεδρονN2N-APN ὁRA-DSF *γαβααN--DSF κύκλοςN2-DSM [29]And Israel set liers in wait around Gibeah.
[30]καίC ἀναβαίνωVZI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM πρόςP υἱόςN2-APM *βενιαμίνN--GSM ἐνP ὁRA-DSF ἡμέραN1A-DSF ὁRA-DSF τρίτοςA1-DSF καίC συνἅπτωVAI-AAI3P πρόςP ὁRA-ASF *γαβααN--ASF ὡςC ἅπαξD καίC ἅπαξD [30]And the children of Israel went up against the children of Benjamin on the third day, and put themselves in array against Gibeah, as at other times.
[31]καίC ἐκἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *βενιαμίνN--GSM εἰςP συνάντησιςN3I-ASF ὁRA-GSM λαόςN2-GSM καίC ἐκκενόωVCI-API3P ὁRA-GSF πόλιςN3I-GSF καίC ἄρχωVAI-AMI3P πατάσσωV1-PAN ἀπόP ὁRA-GSM λαόςN2-GSM τραυματίαςN1T-APM ὡςC ἅπαξD καίC ἅπαξD ἐνP ὁRA-DPF ὁδόςN2-DPF ὅςRR-NSF εἰμίV9-PAI3S εἷςA1A-APN ἀναβαίνωV1-PAPNSF εἰςP *βαιθηλN--ASF καίC εἷςA1A-APN εἰςP *γαβααN--ASF ἐνP ἀγρόςN2-DSM ὡςC τριάκονταM ἀνήρN3-APM ἐνP *ἰσραήλN--GSM [31]And the children of Benjamin went out against the people, and were drawn away from the city; and they began to smite of the people, and kill, as at other times, in the highways, of which one goeth up to the house of God, and the other to Gibeah in the field, about thirty men of Israel.
[32]καίC εἶπονVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *βενιαμίνN--GSM πίπτωV1-PAI3P ἐνώπιονP ἐγώRP-GP ὡςC ὁRA-ASN πρῶτοςA1-ASMS καίC ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM εἶπονVBI-AAI3P φεύγωVB-AAS1P καίC ἐκκενόωVA-AAS1P αὐτόςRD-APM ἀπόP ὁRA-GSF πόλιςN3I-GSF εἰςP ὁRA-APF ὁδόςN2-APF καίC ποιέωVAI-AAI3P οὕτωςD [32]And the children of Benjamin said, They are smitten down before us, as at the first. But the children of Israel said, Let us flee, and draw them from the city to the highways.
[33]καίC πᾶςA3-NSM ἀνήρN3-NSM ἀναἵστημιVHI-AAI3S ἐκP ὁRA-GSM τόποςN2-GSM αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC συνἅπτωVAI-AAI3P ἐνP *βααλθαμαρN--DS καίC ὁRA-ASN ἔνεδρονN2N-ASN *ἰσραήλN--GSM ἐπιἄρχωV1I-IMI3S ἐκP ὁRA-GSM τόποςN2-GSM αὐτόςRD-GSM ἀπόP *μααραγαβεN--GS [33]And all the men of Israel rose out of their place, and put themselves in array at Baal-tamar: and the liers in wait of Israel came forth out of their places, even out of the meadows of Gibeah.
[34]καίC ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P ἐκP ἐναντίοςA1A-GSF *γαβααN--GSF δέκαM χιλιάςN3D-NPF ἀνήρN3-GPM ἐκλεκτόςA1-GPM ἐκP πᾶςA3-GSM *ἰσραήλN--GSM καίC παράταξιςN3I-NSF βαρύςA3U-NSF καίC αὐτόςRD-NPM οὐD γιγνώσκωVZI-AAI3P ὅτιC φθάνωV1-PAI3S ἐπίP αὐτόςRD-APM ὁRA-NSF κακίαN1A-NSF [34]And there came against Gibeah ten thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and the battle was severe: but they knew not that evil was near them.
[35]καίC πατάσσωVAI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-ASM *βενιαμίνN--ASM ἐνώπιονP υἱόςN2-GPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM καίC διαφθείρωVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM ἐκP ὁRA-GSM *βενιαμίνN--GSM ἐνP ὁRA-DSF ἡμέραN1A-DSF ἐκεῖνοςRD-DSF εἴκοσιM καίC πέντεM χιλιάςN3D-APF καίC ἑκατόνM ἀνήρN3-APM πᾶςA3-NPM οὗτοςRD-NPM ἕλκωV1I-IAI3P ῥομφαίαN1A-ASF [35]And the LORD smote Benjamin before Israel: and the children of Israel destroyed of the Benjaminites that day twenty and five thousand and a hundred men: all these drew the sword.
[36]καίC ὁράωVBI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *βενιαμίνN--GSM ὅτιC πλήσσωVDI-API3P καίC δίδωμιVAI-AAI3S ἀνήρN3-NSM *ἰσραήλN--GSM τόποςN2-ASM ὁRA-DSM *βενιαμίνN--DSM ὅτιC ἐλπίζωVAI-AAI3P πρόςP ὁRA-ASN ἔνεδρονN2N-ASN ὅςRR-ASN τίθημιVAI-AAI3P ἐπίP ὁRA-ASF *γαβααN--ASF [36]So the children of Benjamin saw that they were smitten: for the men of Israel gave place to the Benjaminites, because they trusted to the liers in wait which they had set beside Gibeah.
[37]καίC ἐνP ὁRA-DSM αὐτόςRD-APM ὑποχωρέωVA-AAN καίC ὁRA-ASN ἔνεδρονN2N-ASN κινέωVCI-API3S καίC ἐκτείνωVAI-AAI3P ἐπίP ὁRA-ASF *γαβααN--ASF καίC ἐκχέωVCI-API3S ὁRA-ASN ἔνεδρονN2N-ASN καίC πατάσσωVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-ASF πόλιςN3I-ASF ἐνP στόμαN3M-DSN ῥομφαίαN1A-GSF [37]And the liers in wait hasted, and rushed upon Gibeah; and the liers in wait drew themselves along, and smote all the city with the edge of the sword.
[38]καίC σημεῖονN2N-ASN εἰμίV9-IAI3S ὁRA-DPM υἱόςN2-DPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM μετάP ὁRA-GSN ἔνεδρονN2N-GSN ὁRA-GSF μάχηN1-GSF ἀναφέρωVAI-AAN αὐτόςRD-APM σύσσημονN2N-ASN καπνόςN2-GSM ἀπόP ὁRA-GSF πόλιςN3I-GSF [38]Now there was an appointed sign between the men of Israel and the liers in wait, that they should make a great flame with smoke to rise from the city.
[39]καίC ὁράωVBI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM ὅτιC προ καταλαμβάνωVBI-AMI3S ὁRA-ASN ἔνεδρονN2N-ASN ὁRA-ASF *γαβααN--ASF καίC ἵστημιVAI-AAI3P ἐνP ὁRA-DSF παράταξιςN3I-DSF καίC *βενιαμίνN--GSM ἄρχωVAI-AMI3S πατάσσωV1-PAN τραυματίαςN1T-APM ἐνP ἀνήρN3-DPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM ὡςC τριάκονταM ἀνήρN3-APM ὅτιC εἶπονVAI-AAI3P πάλινD πτῶσιςN3I-DSF πίπτωV1-PAI3P ἐνώπιονP ἐγώRP-GP ὡςC ὁRA-NSF παράταξιςN3I-NSF ὁRA-NSF πρῶτοςA1-NSFS [39]And when the men of Israel retired in the battle, Benjamin began to smite and kill of the men of Israel about thirty persons: for they said, Surely they are smitten down before us, as in the first battle.
[40]καίC ὁRA-NSN σύσσημονN2N-NSN ἀναβαίνωVZI-AAI3S ἐπίP πολύςA3-ASNC ἐπίP ὁRA-GSF πόλιςN3I-GSF ὡςC στῦλοςN2-NSM καπνόςN2-GSM καίC ἐπιβλέπωVAI-AAI3S *βενιαμίνN--NSM ὀπίσωP αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC ἰδούI ἀναβαίνωVZI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSF συντέλειαN1A-NSF ὁRA-GSF πόλιςN3I-GSF ἕωςP οὐρανόςN2-GSM [40]But when the flame began to rise from the city with a pillar of smoke, the Benjaminites looked behind them, and behold, the flame of the city ascended to heaven.
[41]καίC ἀνήρN3-NSM *ἰσραήλN--GSM ἐπιστρέφωVAI-AAI3S καίC σπεύδωVAI-AAI3P ἀνήρN3-NPM *βενιαμίνN--GSM ὅτιC ὁράωVBI-AAI3P ὅτιC συνἀντάωVAI-AAI3S ἐπίP αὐτόςRD-APM ὁRA-NSF πονηρίαN1A-NSF [41]And when the men of Israel turned again, the men of Benjamin were amazed: for they saw that evil had come upon them.
[42]καίC ἐπιβλέπωVAI-AAI3P ἐνώπιονP υἱόςN2-GPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM εἰςP ὁδόςN2-ASF ὁRA-GSF ἔρημοςN2-GSF καίC φεύγωVBI-AAI3P καίC ὁRA-NSF παράταξιςN3I-NSF φθάνωVAI-AAI3S ἐπίP αὐτόςRD-APM καίC ὁRA-NPM ἀπόP ὁRA-GPF πόλιςN3I-GPF διαφθείρωV1I-IAI3P αὐτόςRD-APM ἐνP μέσοςA1-DSM αὐτόςRD-GPM [42]Therefore they turned their backs before the men of Israel to the way of the wilderness; but the battle overtook them; and them who came out of the cities they destroyed in the midst of them.
[43]καίC κατακόπτωV1I-IAI3P ὁRA-ASM *βενιαμίνN--ASM καίC διώκωVAI-AAI3P αὐτόςRD-ASM ἀπόP *νουαN--GS κατάP πούςN3D-ASM αὐτόςRD-GSM ἕωςP ἀπέναντιP *γαβααN--GSF πρόςP ἀνατολήN1-APF ἥλιοςN2-GSM [43]Thus they inclosed the Benjaminites on all sides, and chased them, and trod them down with ease over against Gibeah towards the sun-rising.
[44]καίC πίπτωVAI-AAI3P ἀπόP *βενιαμίνN--GSM δέκαM ὀκτώM χιλιάςN3D-NPF ἀνήρN3-GPM ὁRA-NPM πᾶςA3-NPM οὗτοςRD-NPM ἀνήρN3-NPM δύναμιςN3I-GSF [44]And there fell of Benjamin eighteen thousand men; all these were men of valor.
[45]καίC ἐπιβλέπωVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM λοιπόςA1-NPM καίC φεύγωV1I-IAI3P εἰςP ὁRA-ASF ἔρημοςN2-ASF πρόςP ὁRA-ASF πέτραN1A-ASF ὁRA-GSM *ρεμμωνN--GS καίC καλαμάομαιVAI-AMI3P ἐκP αὐτόςRD-GPM ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM πεντακισχίλιοιA1A-APM ἀνήρN3-APM καίC καταβαίνωVZI-AAI3P ὀπίσωP αὐτόςRD-GPM ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM ἕωςP *γεδανN--GS καίC πατάσσωVAI-AAI3P ἐκP αὐτόςRD-GPM δισχίλιοιA1A-APM ἀνήρN3-APM [45]And they turned and fled towards the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon: and they gleaned of them in the highways five thousand men; and pursued hard after them to Gidom, and slew two thousand men of them.
[46]καίC γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3P πᾶςA3-NPM ὁRA-NPM πίπτωV1-PAPNPM ἀπόP *βενιαμίνN--GSM εἴκοσιM πέντεM χιλιάςN3D-NPF ἀνήρN3-GPM ἕλκωV1-PAPGPM ῥομφαίαN1A-ASF ἐνP ὁRA-DSF ἡμέραN1A-DSF ἐκεῖνοςRD-DSF ὁRA-NPM πᾶςA3-NPM οὗτοςRD-NPM ἀνήρN3-NPM δύναμιςN3I-GSF [46]So that all who fell that day of Benjamin were twenty and five thousand men that drew the sword; all these were men of valor.
[47]καίC ἐπιβλέπωVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM λοιπόςA1-NPM καίC φεύγωVBI-AAI3P εἰςP ὁRA-ASF ἔρημοςN2-ASF πρόςP ὁRA-ASF πέτραN1A-ASF ὁRA-GSM *ρεμμωνN--GS ἑξακόσιοιA1A-NPM ἀνήρN3-NPM καίC καταἵζωVAI-AAI3P ἐνP πέτραN1A-DSF *ρεμμωνN--GS τέσσαρεςA3-APM μήνN3-APM [47]But six hundred men turned and fled to the wilderness to the rock Rimmon, and abode in the rock Rimmon four months.
[48]καίC ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM ἐπιστρέφωVAI-AAI3P πρόςP υἱόςN2-APM *βενιαμίνN--GSM καίC πατάσσωVAI-AAI3P αὐτόςRD-APM ἐνP στόμαN3M-DSN ῥομφαίαN1A-GSF ἀπόP πόλιςN3I-GSF *μεθλαN--GS καίC ἕωςP κτῆνοςN3E-GSN καίC ἕωςP πᾶςA3-GSM ὁRA-GSM εὑρίσκωV1-PMPGSM εἰςP πᾶςA1S-APF ὁRA-APF πόλιςN3I-APF καίC ὁRA-APF πόλιςN3I-APF ὁRA-APF εὑρίσκωVC-APPAPF ἐνπίμπρημιVAI-AAI3P ἐνP πῦρN3-DSN [48]And the men of Israel turned again upon the children of Benjamin, and smote them with the edge of the sword, as well the men of every city, as the beast, and all that came to hand: also they set on fire all the cities that they came to.
