[1]καὶ ὤρθρισεν ιαρβαλ αὐτός ἐστιν γεδεων καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς μετ αὐτοῦ καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐπὶ πηγὴν αραδ καὶ παρεμβολὴ μαδιαμ ἦν αὐτῷ ἀπὸ βορρᾶ ἀπὸ γαβααθ αμωρα ἐν κοιλάδι	[1]Then Jerubbaal (who is Gideon) rose up early and all the people that were with him, and pitched beside the well of Harod, so that the host of the Midianites was on the north side of them in the valley by the hill of Moreh.
[2]καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς γεδεων πολὺς ὁ λαὸς ὁ μετὰ σοῦ ὥστε μὴ παραδοῦναί με τὴν μαδιαμ ἐν χειρὶ αὐτῶν μήποτε καυχήσηται ισραηλ ἐπ ἐμὲ λέγων ἡ χείρ μου ἔσωσέν με	[2]And the Lord said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee, are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel make their vaunt against me, and say, Mine hand hath saved me.
[3]καὶ νῦν λάλησον δὴ ἐν ὠσὶν τοῦ λαοῦ λέγων τίς ὁ φοβούμενος καὶ δειλός ἐπιστρεφέτω καὶ ἐκχωρείτω ἀπὸ ὄρους γαλααδ καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν ἀπὸ τοῦ λαοῦ εἴκοσι καὶ δύο χιλιάδες καὶ δέκα χιλιάδες ὑπελείφθησαν	[3]Now therefore proclaim in the audience of the people, and say, Who so is timorous or fearful, let him return, and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people which were at mount Gilead, two and twenty thousand: so ten thousand remained.
[4]καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς γεδεων ἔτι ὁ λαὸς πολύς κατένεγκον αὐτοὺς πρὸς τὸ ὕδωρ καὶ ἐκκαθαρῶ σοι αὐτὸν ἐκεῖ καὶ ἔσται ὃν ἐὰν εἴπω πρὸς σέ οὗτος πορεύσεται σὺν σοί αὐτὸς πορεύσεται σὺν σοί καὶ πᾶν ὃν ἐὰν εἴπω πρὸς σέ οὗτος οὐ πορεύσεται μετὰ σοῦ αὐτὸς οὐ πορεύσεται μετὰ σοῦ	[4]And the Lord said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many: bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for thee there: and of whom I say unto thee, This man shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee: and of whomsoever I say unto thee, This man shall not go with thee, the same shall not go.
[5]καὶ κατήνεγκεν τὸν λαὸν πρὸς τὸ ὕδωρ καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς γεδεων πᾶς ὃς ἂν λάψῃ τῇ γλώσσῃ αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ τοῦ ὕδατος ὡς ἐὰν λάψῃ ὁ κύων στήσεις αὐτὸν κατὰ μόνας καὶ πᾶς ὃς ἐὰν κλίνῃ ἐπὶ τὰ γόνατα αὐτοῦ πιεῖν	[5]So he brought down the people unto the water. And the Lord said unto Gideon, As many as lap the water with their tongues as a dog lappeth, them put by themselves, and every one that shall bow down his knees to drink, put apart.
[6]καὶ ἐγένετο ὁ ἀριθμὸς τῶν λαψάντων ἐν χειρὶ αὐτῶν πρὸς τὸ στόμα αὐτῶν τριακόσιοι ἄνδρες καὶ πᾶν τὸ κατάλοιπον τοῦ λαοῦ ἔκλιναν ἐπὶ τὰ γόνατα αὐτῶν πιεῖν ὕδωρ	[6]And the number of them that lapped by putting their hands to their mouths, were three hundred men: but all the remnant of the people kneeled down upon their knees to drink water.
[7]καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς γεδεων ἐν τοῖς τριακοσίοις ἀνδράσιν τοῖς λάψασιν σώσω ὑμᾶς καὶ δώσω τὴν μαδιαμ ἐν χειρί σου καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς πορεύσονται ἀνὴρ εἰς τὸν τόπον αὐτοῦ	[7]Then the Lord said unto Gideon, By these three hundred men that lapped, will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place.
[8]καὶ ἔλαβον τὸν ἐπισιτισμὸν τοῦ λαοῦ ἐν χειρὶ αὐτῶν καὶ τὰς κερατίνας αὐτῶν καὶ τὸν πάντα ἄνδρα ισραηλ ἐξαπέστειλεν ἄνδρα εἰς σκηνὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ τοὺς τριακοσίους ἄνδρας κατίσχυσεν καὶ ἡ παρεμβολὴ μαδιαμ ἦσαν αὐτοῦ ὑποκάτω ἐν τῇ κοιλάδι	[8]So the people took victuals with them, and their trumpets: and he sent all the rest of Israel, every man unto his tent, and retained the three hundred men: and the host of Midian was beneath him in a valley.
[9]καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν τῇ νυκτὶ ἐκείνῃ καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν κύριος ἀναστὰς κατάβηθι ἐν τῇ παρεμβολῇ ὅτι παρέδωκα αὐτὴν ἐν τῇ χειρί σου	[9]And the same night the Lord said unto him, Arise, get thee down unto the host: for I have delivered it into thine hand.
[10]καὶ εἰ φοβῇ σὺ καταβῆναι κατάβηθι σὺ καὶ φαρα τὸ παιδάριόν σου εἰς τὴν παρεμβολὴν	[10]But if thou fear to go down , then go thou, and Phurah thy servant down to the host,
[11]καὶ ἀκούσῃ τί λαλήσουσιν καὶ μετὰ τοῦτο ἰσχύσουσιν αἱ χεῖρές σου καὶ καταβήσῃ ἐν τῇ παρεμβολῇ καὶ κατέβη αὐτὸς καὶ φαρα τὸ παιδάριον αὐτοῦ πρὸς ἀρχὴν τῶν πεντήκοντα οἳ ἦσαν ἐν τῇ παρεμβολῇ	[11]And thou shalt hearken, what they say, and so shall thine hands be strong to go down unto the host. Then went he down and Phurah his servant unto the outside of the soldiers that were in the host.
[12]καὶ μαδιαμ καὶ αμαληκ καὶ πάντες υἱοὶ ἀνατολῶν βεβλημένοι ἐν τῇ κοιλάδι ὡσεὶ ἀκρὶς εἰς πλῆθος καὶ ταῖς καμήλοις αὐτῶν οὐκ ἦν ἀριθμός ἀλλὰ ἦσαν ὡς ἡ ἄμμος ἡ ἐπὶ χείλους τῆς θαλάσσης εἰς πλῆθος	[12]And the Midianites, and the Amalekites and all they of the east, lay in the valley like grasshoppers in multitude, and their camels were without number, as the sand which is by the sea side for multitude.
[13]καὶ ἦλθεν γεδεων καὶ ἰδοὺ ἀνὴρ ἐξηγούμενος τῷ πλησίον αὐτοῦ ἐνύπνιον καὶ εἶπεν ἐνύπνιον ἰδοὺ ἐνυπνιασάμην καὶ ἰδοὺ μαγὶς ἄρτου κριθίνου στρεφομένη ἐν τῇ παρεμβολῇ μαδιαμ καὶ ἦλθεν ἕως τῆς σκηνῆς καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτήν καὶ ἔπεσεν καὶ ἀνέστρεψεν αὐτὴν ἄνω καὶ ἔπεσεν ἡ σκηνή	[13]And when Gideon was come, behold, a man told a dream unto his neighbor, and said, Behold, I dreamed a dream, and lo, a cake of barley bread tumbled from above into the host of Midian, and came unto a tent, and smote it that it fell, and overturned it, that the tent fell down.
[14]καὶ ἀπεκρίθη ὁ πλησίον αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν οὐκ ἔστιν αὕτη εἰ μὴ ῥομφαία γεδεων υἱοῦ ιωας ἀνδρὸς ισραηλ παρέδωκεν ὁ θεὸς ἐν χειρὶ αὐτοῦ τὴν μαδιαμ καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν παρεμβολήν	[14]And his fellow answered, and said, This is nothing else save the sword of Gideon the son of Joash a man of Israel: for into his hand hath God delivered Midian and all the host.
[15]καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἤκουσεν γεδεων τὴν ἐξήγησιν τοῦ ἐνυπνίου καὶ τὴν σύγκρισιν αὐτοῦ καὶ προσεκύνησεν κυρίῳ καὶ ὑπέστρεψεν εἰς τὴν παρεμβολὴν ισραηλ καὶ εἶπεν ἀνάστητε ὅτι παρέδωκεν κύριος ἐν χειρὶ ἡμῶν τὴν παρεμβολὴν μαδιαμ	[15]When Gideon heard the dream told, and the interpretation of the same, he worshiped, and returned unto the host of Israel, and said, Up: for the Lord hath delivered into your hand the host of Midian.
[16]καὶ διεῖλεν τοὺς τριακοσίους ἄνδρας εἰς τρεῖς ἀρχὰς καὶ ἔδωκεν κερατίνας ἐν χειρὶ πάντων καὶ ὑδρίας κενὰς καὶ λαμπάδας ἐν ταῖς ὑδρίαις	[16]And he divided the three hundred men into three bands, and gave every man a trumpet in his hand with empty pitchers, and lamps within the pitchers.
[17]καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς ἀπ ἐμοῦ ὄψεσθε καὶ οὕτως ποιήσετε καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ εἰσπορεύομαι ἐν ἀρχῇ τῆς παρεμβολῆς καὶ ἔσται καθὼς ἂν ποιήσω οὕτως ποιήσετε	[17]And he said unto them, Look on me, and do likewise, when I come to the side of the host: even as I do, so do you.
[18]καὶ σαλπιῶ ἐν τῇ κερατίνῃ ἐγώ καὶ πάντες μετ ἐμοῦ σαλπιεῖτε ἐν ταῖς κερατίναις κύκλῳ ὅλης τῆς παρεμβολῆς καὶ ἐρεῖτε τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ τῷ γεδεων	[18]When I blow with a trumpet and all that are with me, blow ye with trumpets also on every side of the host, and say, For the Lord, and for Gideon.
[19]καὶ εἰσῆλθεν γεδεων καὶ οἱ ἑκατὸν ἄνδρες οἱ μετ αὐτοῦ ἐν ἀρχῇ τῆς παρεμβολῆς ἐν ἀρχῇ τῆς φυλακῆς μέσης καὶ ἐγείροντες ἤγειραν τοὺς φυλάσσοντας καὶ ἐσάλπισαν ἐν ταῖς κερατίναις καὶ ἐξετίναξαν τὰς ὑδρίας τὰς ἐν ταῖς χερσὶν αὐτῶν	[19]So Gideon and the hundred men that were with him, came unto the outside of the host, in the beginning of the middle watch, and they raised up the watchmen, and they blew with their trumpets, and break the pitchers that were in their hands.
[20]καὶ ἐσάλπισαν αἱ τρεῖς ἀρχαὶ ἐν ταῖς κερατίναις καὶ συνέτριψαν τὰς ὑδρίας καὶ ἐκράτησαν ἐν χερσὶν ἀριστεραῖς αὐτῶν τὰς λαμπάδας καὶ ἐν χερσὶν δεξιαῖς αὐτῶν τὰς κερατίνας τοῦ σαλπίζειν καὶ ἀνέκραξαν ῥομφαία τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ τῷ γεδεων	[20]And the three companies blew with trumpets and break the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow withal: and they cried, The sword of the Lord and of Gideon.
[21]καὶ ἔστησαν ἀνὴρ ἐφ ἑαυτῷ κύκλῳ τῆς παρεμβολῆς καὶ ἔδραμεν πᾶσα ἡ παρεμβολὴ καὶ ἐσήμαναν καὶ ἔφυγαν	[21]And they stood, every man in his place round about the host: and all the host ran, and cried, and fled.
[22]καὶ ἐσάλπισαν ἐν ταῖς τριακοσίαις κερατίναις καὶ ἔθηκεν κύριος τὴν ῥομφαίαν ἀνδρὸς ἐν τῷ πλησίον αὐτοῦ ἐν πάσῃ τῇ παρεμβολῇ καὶ ἔφυγεν ἡ παρεμβολὴ ἕως βηθσεεδτα γαραγαθα ἕως χείλους αβωμεουλα ἐπὶ ταβαθ	[22]And the three hundred blew with trumpets, and the Lord set every man's sword upon his neighbor, and upon all the host: so the host fled to Bethshittah in Zererath, and to the border of Abel-meholah, unto Tabbath.
[23]καὶ ἐβόησαν ἀνὴρ ισραηλ ἀπὸ νεφθαλι καὶ ἀπὸ ασηρ καὶ ἀπὸ παντὸς μανασση καὶ ἐδίωξαν ὀπίσω μαδιαμ	[23]Then the men of Israel being gathered together out of Naphtali, and out of Asher, and out of all Manasseh, pursued after the Midianites.
[24]καὶ ἀγγέλους ἀπέστειλεν γεδεων ἐν παντὶ ὄρει εφραιμ λέγων κατάβητε εἰς συνάντησιν μαδιαμ καὶ καταλάβετε ἑαυτοῖς τὸ ὕδωρ ἕως βαιθηρα καὶ τὸν ιορδάνην καὶ ἐβόησεν πᾶς ἀνὴρ εφραιμ καὶ προκατελάβοντο τὸ ὕδωρ ἕως βαιθηρα καὶ τὸν ιορδάνην	[24]And Gideon sent messengers unto all mount Ephraim, saying, Come down against the Midianites, and take before them the waters unto Beth-barah, and Jordan. Then all the men of Ephraim gathered together and took the waters unto Beth-barah, and Jordan.
[25]καὶ συνέλαβον τοὺς ἄρχοντας μαδιαμ καὶ τὸν ωρηβ καὶ τὸν ζηβ καὶ ἀπέκτειναν τὸν ωρηβ ἐν σουρ καὶ τὸν ζηβ ἀπέκτειναν ἐν ιακεφζηφ καὶ κατεδίωξαν μαδιαμ καὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν ωρηβ καὶ ζηβ ἤνεγκαν πρὸς γεδεων ἀπὸ πέραν τοῦ ιορδάνου	[25]And they took two princes of the Midianites, Oreb and Zeeb, and slew Oreb upon the rock Oreb, and slew Zeeb at the winepress of Zeeb, and pursued the Midianites, and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon beyond Jordan.
