[1]Wherefore heare my wordes O Iob, and hearken vnto all that I will say [1]WhereforeH199, JobH347, I pray thee, hearH8085[H8798] my speechesH4405, and hearkenH238[H8685] to all my wordsH1697.
[2]Behold, I haue now opened my mouth, my tongue hath spoken in my throte [2]Behold, now I have openedH6605[H8804] my mouthH6310, my tongueH3956 hath spokenH1696[H8765] in my mouthH2441.
[3]My heart doth order my wordes aright, and my lippes talke of pure wysedome [3]My wordsH561 shall be of the uprightnessH3476 of my heartH3820: and my lipsH8193 shall utterH4448[H8765] knowledgeH1847 clearlyH1305.[H8803]
[4]The spirite of God hath made me, and the breath of the almightie hath geuen me my lyfe [4]The SpiritH7307 of GodH410 hath madeH6213[H8804] me, and the breathH5397 of the AlmightyH7706 hath given me lifeH2421.[H8762]
[5]If thou canst then geue me aunswere, prepare thy selfe and stande before me face to face [5]If thou canstH3201[H8799] answerH7725[H8687] me, set thy words in orderH6186[H8798] beforeH6440 me, stand upH3320.[H8690]
[6]Beholde, before God I am euen as thou: for I am fashioned & made euen of the same molde [6]Behold, I am according to thy wishH6310 in God'sH410 stead: I also am formedH7169[H8795] out of the clayH2563.
[7]Beholde, my terrour shall not feare thee, neither shall my hande be heauy vpon thee [7]Behold, my terrorH367 shall not make thee afraidH1204[H8762], neither shall my handH405 be heavyH3513 upon theeH8799.
[8]Now hast thou spoken in myne eares, & I haue heard the voyce of thy wordes [8]Surely thou hast spokenH559[H8804] in mine hearingH241, and I have heardH8085[H8799] the voiceH6963 of thy words, sayingH4405,
[9]I am cleane without any fault, I am innocent, & there is no wickednesse in me [9]I am cleanH2134 without transgressionH6588, I am innocentH2643; neither is there iniquity in meH5771.
[10]But lo, he hath piked a quarell against me, and taketh me for his enemie [10]Behold, he findethH4672[H8799] occasionsH8569 against me, he countethH2803[H8799] H341me for his enemyH8802
[11]He hath put my foote in the stockes, and looketh narowlye vnto all my pathes [11]He puttethH7760[H8799] my feetH7272 in the stocksH5465, he markethH8104[H8799] all my pathsH734.
[12]Behold, in this hast thou not done right, I wil make aunswere vnto thee, that God is greater then man [12]Behold, in this thou art not justH6663[H8804]: I will answerH6030[H8799] thee, that GodH433 is greaterH7235[H8799] than manH582.
[13]And why doest thou then striue against him? for he shall not geue the accomptes of all his wordes [13]Why dost thou striveH7378[H8804] against him? for he giveth not accountH6030[H8799] of any of his mattersH1697.
[14]For God speaketh once or twise, and yet man vnderstandeth it not [14]For GodH410 speakethH1696[H8762] onceH259, yea twiceH8147, yet man perceivethH7789 it notH8799.
[15]In dreames and visions of the night, when slumbring commeth vpon men that they fall asleepe in their beddes [15]In a dreamH2472, in a visionH2384 of the nightH3915, when deepH8639 sleep fallethH5307[H8800] upon menH582, in slumberingsH8572 upon the bedH4904;
[16]He roundeth them in the eares, and sealeth their correction [16]Then he openethH1540[H8799] the earsH241 of menH582, and sealethH2856[H8799] their instructionH4561,
[17]That he may withdrawe man from euyll enterprises, and deliuer hym from pride [17]That he may withdrawH5493[H8687] manH120 from his purposeH4639, and hideH3680[H8762] prideH1466 from manH1397.
[18]And kepe his soule from the graue, and his life from the sworde [18]He keepeth backH2820[H8799] his soulH5315 from the pitH7845, and his lifeH2416 from perishingH5674[H8800] by the swordH7973.
[19]He chasteneth hym with sickenesse vpon his bedde, he layeth sore punishement vpon his bones [19]He is chastenedH3198[H8717] also with painH4341 upon his bedH4904, and the multitudeH7230[H8675][H7379] of his bonesH6106 with strong painH386:
[20]So that his lyfe may away with no bread, and his soule abhorreth to eate any dayntie meate [20]So that his lifeH2416 abhorrethH2092[H8765] breadH3899, and his soulH5315 daintyH8378 meatH3978.
[21]In so much that his body is cleane consumed away, and his bones appeare which before were not seene [21]His fleshH1320 is consumed awayH3615[H8799], that it cannot be seenH7210; and his bonesH6106 that were not seenH7200[H8795] stick outH8192[H8795][H8675].[H8205]
[22]His soule draweth vnto the graue, and his lyfe to death [22]Yea, his soulH5315 draweth nearH7126[H8799] unto the graveH7845, and his lifeH2416 to the destroyersH4191.[H8688]
[23]Now yf there be a messenger, one among a thousande, sent for to speake vnto man, and to shew him the right way [23]If thereH3426 be a messengerH4397 with him, an interpreterH3887[H8688], oneH259 among a thousandH505, to shewH5046[H8687] unto manH120 his uprightnessH3476:
[24]Then the Lord is mercifull vnto him, and sayth, He shalbe deliuered, that he fall not downe to the graue: for I am sufficiently reconciled [24]Then he is graciousH2603[H8799] unto him, and saithH559[H8799], DeliverH6308[H8798] him from going downH3381[H8800] to the pitH7845: I have foundH4672[H8804] a ransomH3724.
[25]Then shal his fleshe be as freshe as a childes, and shal returne as in the dayes of his youth [25]His fleshH1320 shall be fresherH7375[H8738] than a child'sH5290: he shall returnH7725[H8799] to the daysH3117 of his youthH5934:
[26]He shall pray vnto God, and he will be fauorable vnto him, and he shall see his face with ioy, for he will render vnto man his righteousnesse [26]He shall prayH6279[H8799] unto GodH433, and he will be favourableH7521[H8799] unto him: and he shall seeH7200[H8799] his faceH6440 with joyH8643: for he will renderH7725[H8686] unto manH582 his righteousnessH6666.
[27]A respect hath he vnto men, let man then say, I haue offended, I did vnrighteously, & it hath done me no good [27]He lookethH7789[H8799] upon menH582, and if any sayH559[H8799], I have sinnedH2398[H8804], and pervertedH5753[H8689] that which was rightH3477, and it profitedH7737 me notH8804;
[28]Yea he hath deliuered my soule from destruction, and my lyfe shall see the light [28]He will deliverH6299[H8804] his soulH5315 from goingH5674[H8800] into the pitH7845, and his lifeH2416 shall seeH7200[H8799] the lightH216.
[29]Lo all these worketh God alway with man [29]Lo, all these things workethH6466[H8799] GodH410 oftentimesH6471[H7969] with manH1397,
[30]That he bring backe his soule from the graue to the light, yea the light of the lyuing [30]To bring backH7725[H8687] his soulH5315 from the pitH7845, to be enlightenedH215[H8736] with the lightH216 of the livingH2416.
[31]Marke wel O Iob, and heare me: hold thee still, and I will speake [31]Mark wellH7181[H8685], O JobH347, hearkenH8085[H8798] unto me: hold thy peaceH2790[H8685], and I will speakH1696.[H8762]
[32]But if thou hast any thing to say, then aunswere me, and speake: for I desire to iustifie thee [32]If thou hastH3426 any thing to sayH4405, answerH7725[H8685] me: speakH1696[H8761], for I desireH2654[H8804] to justifyH6663 theeH8763.
[33]If thou hast nothing, then heare me, and hold thy tongue, and I shall teache thee wysdome [33]If not, hearkenH8085[H8798] unto me: hold thy peaceH2790[H8685], and I shall teachH502[H8762] thee wisdomH2451.
