[1]ElihuH453 spakeH6030[H8799] H559moreover, and saidH8799 [1]Elihu spake moreover, and said,
[2]ThinkestH2803[H8804] thou this to be rightH4941, that thou saidstH559[H8804], My righteousnessH6664 is more than God'sH410? [2]Thinkest thou this right, that thou hast said, I am more righteous than God?
[3]For thou saidstH559[H8799], What advantageH5532[H8799] will it be unto thee? and, What profitH3276[H8686] shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sinH2403? [3]For thou hast said, What profiteth it thee and what availeth it me, to purge me from my sin?
[4]I will answerH7725[H8686][H4405] thee, and thy companions with theeH7453. [4]Therefore will I answer thee, and thy companions with thee.
[5]LookH5027[H8685] unto the heavensH8064, and seeH7200[H8798]; and beholdH7789[H8798] the cloudsH7834 which are higherH1361 than thouH8804. [5]Look unto the heaven, and see and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.
[6]If thou sinnestH2398[H8804], what doestH6466[H8799] thou against him? or if thy transgressionsH6588 be multipliedH7231[H8804], what doestH6213 thou unto himH8799? [6]If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him, yea, when thy sins be many, what doest thou unto him?
[7]If thou be righteousH6663[H8804], what givestH5414[H8799] thou him? or what receivethH3947[H8799] he of thine handH3027? [7]If thou be righteous, what givest thou unto him? Or what receiveth he at thine hand?
[8]Thy wickednessH7562 may hurt a manH376 as thou art; and thy righteousnessH6666 may profit the sonH1121 of manH120. [8]Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art: and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.
[9]By reason of the multitudeH7230 of oppressionsH6217 they make the oppressed to cryH2199[H8686]: they cry outH7768[H8762] by reason of the armH2220 of the mightyH7227. [9]They cause many that are oppressed, to cry, which cry out for the violence of the mighty.
[10]But none saithH559[H8804], Where is GodH433 my makerH6213[H8802], who givethH5414[H8802] songsH2158 in the nightH3915; [10]But none saith, Where is God that made me, which giveth songs in the night?
[11]Who teachethH502[H8764] us more than the beastsH929 of the earthH776, and maketh us wiserH2449[H8762] than the fowlsH5775 of heavenH8064? [11]Which teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and giveth us more wisdom than the fowls of the heaven.
[12]There they cryH6817[H8799], but none giveth answerH6030[H8799], becauseH6440 of the prideH1347 of evil menH7451. [12]Then they cry because of the violence of the wicked, but he answereth not.
[13]Surely GodH410 will not hearH8085[H8799] vanityH7723, neither will the AlmightyH7706 regardH7789 itH8799. [13]Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.
[14]AlthoughH637 thou sayestH559[H8799] thou shalt not seeH7789[H8799] him, yet judgmentH1779 is beforeH6440 him; therefore trustH2342 thou in himH8787. [14]Although thou sayest to God, Thou wilt not regard it, yet judgment is before him: trust thou in him.
[15]But now, because it is not so, he hath visitedH6485[H8804] in his angerH639; yet he knowethH3045[H8804] it not in greatH3966 extremityH6580: [15]But now because his anger hath not visited, nor called to count the evil with great extremity,
[16]Therefore doth JobH347 openH6475[H8799] his mouthH6310 in vainH1892; he multipliethH3527[H8686] wordsH4405 withoutH1097 knowledgeH1847. [16]Therefore Job openeth his mouth in vain, and multiplieth words without knowledge.
