[1]Then JobH347 answeredH6030[H8799] the LORDH3068, H559and saidH8799 |
[1]Then Job answered the Lord, and said, |
[2]I knowH3045[H8804] that thou canst doH3201[H8799] every thing, and that no thoughtH4209 can be withholdenH1219 from theeH8735. |
[2]I know that thou canst do all things, and that there is no thought hid from thee. |
[3]Who is he that hidethH5956[H8688] counselH6098 without knowledgeH1847? therefore have I utteredH5046[H8689] that I understoodH995[H8799] not; things too wonderfulH6381[H8737] for me, which I knewH3045 notH8799. |
[3]Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? Therefore have I spoken that I understood not , even things too wonderful for me, and which I knew not. |
[4]HearH8085[H8798], I beseech thee, and I will speakH1696[H8762]: I will demandH7592[H8799] of thee, and declareH3045 thou unto meH8685. |
[4]Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. |
[5]I have heardH8085[H8804] of thee by the hearingH8088 of the earH241: but now mine eyeH5869 seethH7200 theeH8804. |
[5]I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear, but now mine eye seeth thee. |
[6]Wherefore I abhorH3988[H8799] myself, and repentH5162[H8738] in dustH6083 and ashesH665. |
[6]Therefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes. |
[7]And it was so, that afterH310 the LORDH3068 had spokenH1696[H8765] these wordsH1697 unto JobH347, the LORDH3068 saidH559[H8799] to EliphazH464 the TemaniteH8489, My wrathH639 is kindledH2734[H8804] against thee, and against thy twoH8147 friendsH7453: for ye have not spokenH1696[H8765] of me the thing that is rightH3559[H8737], as my servantH5650 Job hathH347. |
[7]Now after that the Lord had spoken these words unto Job, the Lord also said unto Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, like my servant Job. |
[8]Therefore takeH3947[H8798] unto you now sevenH7651 bullocksH6499 and sevenH7651 ramsH352, and goH3212[H8798] to my servantH5650 JobH347, and offer upH5927[H8689] for yourselves a burnt offeringH5930; and my servantH5650 JobH347 shall prayH6419[H8691] for you: for himH6440 will I acceptH5375[H8799]: lest I dealH6213[H8800] with you after your follyH5039, in that ye have not spokenH1696[H8765] of me the thing which is rightH3559[H8737], like my servantH5650 JobH347. |
[8]Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks, and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering, and my servant Job shall pray for you: for I will accept him, lest I should put you to shame, because ye have not spoken of me the thing, which is right, like my servant Job. |
[9]So EliphazH464 the TemaniteH8489 and BildadH1085 the ShuhiteH7747 and ZopharH6691 the NaamathiteH5284 wentH3212[H8799], and didH6213[H8799] according as the LORDH3068 commandedH1696[H8765] them: the LORDH3068 also acceptedH5375[H8799] JobH6440.[H347] |
[9]So Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the Lord had said unto them, and the Lord accepted Job. |
[10]And the LORDH3068 turnedH7725[H8804] the captivityH7622[H8675][H7622] of JobH347, when he prayedH6419[H8692] for his friendsH7453: also the LORDH3068 gaveH3254[H8686] JobH347 twice as much as he had beforeH4932. |
[10]Then the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice so much as he had before. |
[11]Then cameH935[H8799] there unto him all his brethrenH251, and all his sistersH269, and all they that had been of his acquaintanceH3045[H8802] beforeH6440, and did eatH398[H8799] breadH3899 with him in his houseH1004: and they bemoanedH5110[H8799] him, and comfortedH5162[H8762] him over all the evilH7451 that the LORDH3068 had broughtH935[H8689] upon him: every manH376 also gaveH5414[H8799] him aH259 piece of moneyH7192, and every oneH376 an earringH5141 of goldH2091. |
[11]Then came unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house, and had compassion of him, and comforted him for all the evil, that the Lord had brought upon him, and every man gave him a piece of money, and every one an earring of gold. |
[12]So the LORDH3068 blessedH1288[H8765] the latter endH319 of JobH347 more than his beginningH7225: for he had fourteenH702[H6240] thousandH505 sheepH6629, and sixH8337 thousandH505 camelsH1581, and a thousandH505 yokeH6776 of oxenH1241, and a thousandH505 she assesH860. |
[12]So the Lord blessed the last days of Job more than the first: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses. |
[13]He had also sevenH7658 sonsH1121 and threeH7969 daughtersH1323. |
[13]He had also seven sons, and three daughters. |
[14]And he calledH7121[H8799] the nameH8034 of the firstH259, JemimaH3224; and the nameH8034 of the secondH8145, KeziaH7103; and the nameH8034 of the thirdH7992, KerenhappuchH7163. |
[14]And he called the name of one Jemimah, and the name of the second Keziah, and the name of the third Keren-happuch. |
[15]And in all the landH776 were no womenH802 foundH4672[H8738] so fairH3303 as the daughtersH1323 of JobH347: and their fatherH1 gaveH5414[H8799] them inheritanceH5159 amongH8432 their brethrenH251. |
[15]In all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job, and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren. |
[16]AfterH310 this livedH2421[H8799] JobH347 an hundredH3967 and fortyH705 yearsH8141, and sawH7200[H8799] his sonsH1121, and his sons'H1121 sonsH1121, even fourH702 generationsH1755. |
[16]And after this lived Job an hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his son's sons, even four generations. |
[17]So JobH347 diedH4191[H8799], being oldH2205 and fullH7649 of daysH3117. |
[17]So Job died, being old, and full of days. |
