| [1]After these things, Jesus walked in Galilee, and would not walk in Judea: for the Jews sought to kill him. |
[1]בתר הלינ מהלכ הוא ישׁוע בגלילא לא גיר צבא הוא למהלכו ביהוד מטל דיהודיא בעינ הוו למקטלה |
| [2]Now the Jews feast of the Tabernacles was at hand. |
[2]וקריב הוא עדעדא דמטלא דיהודיא |
| [3]His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judea, that thy disciples may see thy works that thou doest. |
[3]ואמרו לה אחוהי לישׁוע שׁנא לכ מכא וזל ליהוד דנחזונ תלמידיכ עבדא דעבד אנת |
| [4]For there is no man that doeth any thing secretly, and he himself seeketh to be famous. If thou doest these things, show thyself to the world. |
[4]לית גיר אנשׁ דעבד מדמ בטושׁיא וצבא הו דבגליא נהוא אנ הלינ עבד אנת חוא נפשׁכ לעלמא |
| [5]For as yet his brethren believed not in him. |
[5]אפ לא גיר אחוהי הימנו הוו בה בישׁוע |
| [6]Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready. |
[6]אמר להונ ישׁוע זבני דילי עדמא להשׁא לא מטא זבנכונ דינ דילכונ בכל עדנ מטיב |
| [7]The world cannot hate you: but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil. |
[7]לא משׁכח עלמא למסנכונ לי דינ סנא מטל דאנא מסהד אנא עלוהי דעבדוהי בישׁינ אנונ |
| [8]Go ye up unto this feast: I will not go up yet unto this feast: for my time is not yet fulfilled. |
[8]אנתונ סקו לעדעדא הנא אנא לא סלק אנא השׁא לעדעדא הנא מטל דזבנא דילי לא עדכיל שׁלמ |
| [9]These things he said unto them, and abode still in Galilee. |
[9]הלינ אמר ופשׁ לה בגלילא |
| [10]But as soon as his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were privately. |
[10]כד דינ סלקו אחוהי לעדעדא הידינ אפ הו סלק לא בגליא אלא איכ דבטושׁיא |
| [11]Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he? |
[11]יהודיא דינ בעינ הוו לה בעדעדא ואמרינ הוו איכו הו |
| [12]And much murmuring was there of him among the people. Some said, He is a good man: other said, Nay: but he deceiveth the people. |
[12]ורטנא סגיאא מטלתה אית הוא בכנשׁא אית הוו גיר דאמרינ דטב הו ואחרנא אמרינ הוו לא אלא מטעא לעמא |
| [13]Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews. |
[13]לא דינ אנשׁ גליאית ממלל הוא עלוהי מטל דחלתא דיהודיא |
| [14]Now when half the feast was done, Jesus went up into the Temple and taught. |
[14]כד דינ פלגו יומתא דעדעדא סלק ישׁוע להיכלא ומלפ הוא |
| [15]And the Jews marveled, saying, How knoweth this man the Scriptures, seeing that he never learned. |
[15]ומתדמרינ הוו יהודיא ואמרינ איכנא ידע הנא ספרא כד לא ילפ |
| [16]Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. |
[16]ענא ישׁוע ואמר יולפני לא הוא דילי אלא דהו דשׁדרני |
| [17]If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. |
[17]מנ דצבא דנעבד צבינה מסתכל יולפני אנ מנ אלהא הו או אנא מנ צבות נפשׁי ממלל אנא |
| [18]He that speaketh of himself, seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. |
[18]מנ דמנ צבות רעינה ממלל שׁובחא לנפשׁה בעא הו דינ דשׁובחא דמנ דשׁדרה בעא שׁריר הו ועולא בלבה לא אית |
| [19]Did not Moses give you a Law, and yet none of you keepeth the Law? Why go ye about to kill me? |
[19]לא הוא מושׁא יהב לכונ נמוסא ולא אנשׁ מנכונ נטר נמוסא |
| [20]The people answered, and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee? |
[20]מנא בעינ אנתונ למקטלני ענא כנשׁא ואמרינ דיוא אית לכ מנו בעא למקטלכ |
| [21]Jesus answered, and said to them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel. |
[21]ענא ישׁוע ואמר להונ חד עבדא עבדת וכלכונ מתדמרינ אנתונ |
| [22]Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision, (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers) and ye on the Sabbath day circumcise a man. |
[22]מטל הנא מושׁא יהב לכונ גזורתא לא הוא מטל דמנה הי מנ מושׁא אלא דמנ אבהתא הי ובשׁבתא גזרינ אנתונ ברנשׁא |
| [23]If a man on the Sabbath receive circumcision, that the Law of Moses should not be broken, be ye angry with me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the Sabbath day? |
[23]אנ ברנשׁא מתגזר ביומא דשׁבתא מטל דלא נשׁתרא נמוסא דמושׁא עלי רטנינ אנתונ דכלה ברנשׁא אחלמת ביומא דשׁבתא |
| [24]Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. |
[24]לא תהוונ דינינ במסב באפא אלא דינא כאנא דונו |
| [25]Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they go about to kill? |
[25]ואמרינ הוו אנשׁא מנ אורשׁלמ לו הנו הו דבעינ למקטל |
| [26]And behold, he speaketh openly, and they say nothing to him: do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ? |
[26]והא גליאית ממלל ומדמ לא אמרינ לה דלמא ידעו קשׁישׁינ דהנו שׁריראית משׁיחא |
| [27]Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when the Christ cometh, no man shall know whence he is. |
[27]אלא להנא ידעינ חננ מנ אימכא הו משׁיחא דינ אמתי דאתא לא אנשׁ ידע מנ אימכא הו |
| [28]Then cried Jesus in the Temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and know whence I am: yet am I not come of myself, but he that sent me, is true, whom ye know not. |
[28]וארימ ישׁוע קלה כד מלפ בהיכלא ואמר ולי ידעינ אנתונ ומנ אימכא אנא ידעינ אנתונ ומנ צבות נפשׁי לא אתית אלא שׁריר הו מנ דשׁדרני הו דאנתונ לא ידעינ אנתונ לה |
| [29]But I know him: for I am of him, and he hath sent me. |
[29]אנא דינ ידע אנא לה דמנ לותה אנא והו שׁדרני |
| [30]Then they sought to take him, but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come. |
[30]ובעו למאחדה ולא אנשׁ ארמי עלוהי אידיא מטל דלא עדכיל אתת הות שׁעתה |
| [31]Now many of the people believed in him, and said, When the Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than this man hath done? |
[31]סגיאא דינ מנ כנשׁא הימנו בה ואמרינ משׁיחא מא דאתא למא דיתירנ מנ הלינ אתותא דעבד הנא עבד |
| [32]The Pharisees heard that the people murmured these things of him, and the Pharisees, and high Priests sent officers to take him. |
[32]ושׁמעו פרישׁא לכנשׁא דממללינ עלוהי הלינ ושׁדרו הנונ ורבי כהנא דחשׁא דנאחדוניהי |
| [33]Then said Jesus unto them, Yet am I a little while with you, and then go I unto him that sent me. |
[33]ואמר ישׁוע קליל תוב זבנא עמכונ אנא ואזל אנא לות מנ דשׁדרני |
| [34]Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me, and where I am, can ye not come. |
[34]ותבעונני ולא תשׁכחונני ואיכא דאנא איתי לא משׁכחינ אנתונ למאתא |
| [35]Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? Will he go unto them that are dispersed among the Grecians, and teach the Grecians? |
[35]אמרינ יהודיא בנפשׁהונ לאיכא עתיד הנא למאזל דחננ לא משׁכחינ חננ לה למא כי לאתרותא דעממא עתיד דנאזל ונלפ לחנפא |
| [36]What saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me? and where I am, can ye not come? |
[36]מנא הי הדא מלתא דאמר דתבעונני ולא תשׁכחונני ואיכא דאנא איתי אנתונ לא משׁכחינ אנתונ למאתא |
| [37]Now in the last and great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. |
[37]ביומא דינ רבא דאיתוהי אחריא דעדעדא קאמ הוא ישׁוע וקעא ואמר אנ אנשׁ צהא נאתא לותי ונשׁתא |
| [38]He that believeth in me, as saith the Scripture, out of his belly shall flow rivers of water of life. |
[38]כל מנ דמהימנ בי איכנא דאמרו כתבא נהרותא דמיא חיא נרדונ מנ כרסה |
| [39](This spake he of the Spirit which they that believed in him, should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) |
[39]הדא דינ אמר על רוחא דעתידינ הוו למקבלו אילינ דמהימנינ בה לא גיר עדכיל אתיהבת הות רוחא מטל דלא עדכיל אשׁתבח הוא ישׁוע |
| [40]So many of the people, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet. |
[40]סגיאא דינ מנ כנשׁא דשׁמעו מלוהי אמרינ הוו הנו שׁריראית נביא |
| [41]Other said, This is the Christ: and some said, But shall Christ come out of Galilee? |
[41]אחרנא אמרינ הוו הנו משׁיחא אחרנא אמרינ דלמא מנ גלילא אתא משׁיחא |
| [42]Saith not the Scripture that the Christ shall come of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was? |
[42]לא הוא כתבא אמר דמנ זרעה דדויד ומנ בית-לחמ קריתא דילה דדויד אתא משׁיחא |
| [43]So was there dissension among the people for him. |
[43]והות הות פלגותא בכנשׁא מטלתה |
| [44]And some of them would have taken him, but no man laid hands on him. |
[44]ואית הוו אנשׁינ מנהונ דצבינ הוו דנאחדוניהי אלא לא אנשׁ ארמי עלוהי אידיא |
| [45]Then came the officers to the high Priests and Pharisees, and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him? |
[45]ואתו דחשׁא הנונ לות רבי כהנא ופרישׁא ואמרו להונ כהנא למנא לא איתיתוניהי |
| [46]The officers answered, Never man spake like this man. |
[46]אמרינ להונ דחשׁא לא ממתומ הכנא מלל ברנשׁא איכ דממלל גברא הנא |
| [47]Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived? |
[47]אמרינ להונ פרישׁא למא אפ אנתונ טעיתונ |
| [48]Doth any of the rulers, or of the Pharisees believe in him? |
[48]למא אנשׁ מנ רשׁא או מנ פרישׁא הימנו בה |
| [49]But this people, which know not the Law, are cursed. |
[49]אלא אנ עמא הנא דלא ידע נמוסא ליטינ אנונ |
| [50]Nicodemus said unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, and was one of them.) |
[50]אמר להונ ניקדמוס חד מנהונ הו דאתא הוא לות ישׁוע בלליא |
| [51]Doth our Law judge a man before it hear him, and know what he hath done? |
[51]דלמא נמוסא דילנ מחיב לברנשׁא אלא אנ נשׁמע מנה לוקדמ ונדע מנא עבד |
| [52]They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no Prophet. |
[52]ענו ואמרינ לה למא אפ אנת מנ גלילא אנת בצי וחזי דנביא מנ גלילא לא קאמ |
| [53]And every man went unto his own house. |
[53]אזל הכיל כלחד לביתה |
