| [2]yea, Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Speak unto Aaron thy brother, and he cometh not in at all times unto the sanctuary within the vail, unto the front of the mercy-seat, which [is] upon the ark, and he dieth not, for in a cloud I am seen upon the mercy-seat. |
[2]And the LORDH3068 saidH559[H8799] unto MosesH4872, SpeakH1696[H8761] unto AaronH175 thy brotherH251, that he comeH935[H8799] not at all timesH6256 into the holyH6944 place withinH1004 the vailH6532 beforeH6440 the mercy seatH3727, which is upon the arkH727; that he dieH4191[H8799] not: for I will appearH7200[H8735] in the cloudH6051 upon the mercy seatH3727. |
| [3]`With this doth Aaron come in unto the sanctuary; with a bullock, a son of the herd, for a sin-offering, and a ram for a burnt-offering; |
[3]ThusH2063 shall AaronH175 comeH935[H8799] into the holyH6944 place: with a youngH1121[H1241] bullockH6499 for a sin offeringH2403, and a ramH352 for a burnt offeringH5930. |
| [4]a holy linen coat he putteth on, and linen trousers are on his flesh, and with a linen girdle he girdeth himself, and with a linen mitre he wrappeth himself up; they [are] holy garments; and he hath bathed with water his flesh, and hath put them on. |
[4]He shall put onH3847[H8799] the holyH6944 linenH906 coatH3801, and he shall have the linenH906 breechesH4370 upon his fleshH1320, and shall be girdedH2296[H8799] with a linenH906 girdleH73, and with the linenH906 mitreH4701 shall he be attiredH6801[H8799]: theseH1992 are holyH6944 garmentsH899; therefore shall he washH7364[H8804] his fleshH1320 in waterH4325, and so put them onH3847.[H8804] |
| [5]`And from the company of the sons of Israel he taketh two kids of the goats for a sin-offering, and one ram for a burnt-offering; |
[5]And he shall takeH3947[H8799] of the congregationH5712 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 twoH8147 kidsH8163 of the goatsH5795 for a sin offeringH2403, and oneH259 ramH352 for a burnt offeringH5930. |
| [6]and Aaron hath brought near the bullock of the sin-offering which is his own, and hath made atonement for himself, and for his house; |
[6]And AaronH175 shall offerH7126[H8689] his bullockH6499 of the sin offeringH2403, which is for himselfH1157, and make an atonementH3722[H8765] for himself, and for his houseH1004. |
| [7]and he hath taken the two goats, and hath caused them to stand before Jehovah, at the opening of the tent of meeting. |
[7]And he shall takeH3947[H8804] the twoH8147 goatsH8163, and presentH5975[H8689] them beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 at the doorH6607 of the tabernacleH168 of the congregationH4150. |
| [8]`And Aaron hath given lots over the two goats, one lot for Jehovah, and one lot for a goat of departure; |
[8]And AaronH175 shall castH5414[H8804] lotsH1486 upon the twoH8147 goatsH8163; oneH259 lotH1486 for the LORDH3068, and the otherH259 lotH1486 for the scapegoatH5799. |
| [9]and Aaron hath brought near the goat on which the lot for Jehovah hath gone up, and hath made it a sin-offering. |
[9]And AaronH175 shall bringH7126[H8689] the goatH8163 upon which the LORD'SH3068 lotH1486 fellH5927[H8804], and offerH6213[H8804] him for a sin offeringH2403. |
| [10]`And the goat on which the lot for a goat of departure hath gone up is caused to stand living before Jehovah to make atonement by it, to send it away for a goat of departure into the wilderness. |
[10]But the goatH8163, on which the lotH1486 fellH5927[H8804] to be the scapegoatH5799, shall be presentedH5975[H8714] aliveH2416 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068, to make an atonementH3722[H8763] with him, and to let him goH7971[H8763] for a scapegoatH5799 into the wildernessH4057. |
| [11]`And Aaron hath brought near the bullock of the sin-offering which is his own, and hath made atonement for himself, and for his house, and hath slaughtered the bullock of the sin-offering which [is] his own, |
[11]And AaronH175 shall bringH7126[H8689] the bullockH6499 of the sin offeringH2403, which is for himself, and shall make an atonementH3722[H8765] for himself, and for his houseH1004, and shall killH7819[H8804] the bullockH6499 of the sin offering which is for himselfH2403: |
| [12]and hath taken the fulness of the censer of burning coals of fire from off the altar, from before Jehovah, and the fulness of his hands of thin spice-perfume, and hath brought [it] within the vail; |
[12]And he shall takeH3947[H8804] a censerH4289 fullH4393 of burningH784 coalsH1513 of fireH784 from off the altarH4196 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068, and his handsH2651 fullH4393 of sweetH5561 incenseH7004 beaten smallH1851, and bringH935[H8689] it withinH1004 the vailH6532: |
| [13]and he hath put the perfume on the fire before Jehovah, and the cloud of the perfume hath covered the mercy-seat which [is] on the testimony, and he dieth not. |
[13]And he shall putH5414[H8804] the incenseH7004 upon the fireH784 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068, that the cloudH6051 of the incenseH7004 may coverH3680[H8765] the mercy seatH3727 that is upon the testimonyH5715, that he dieH4191 notH8799: |
| [14]`And he hath taken of the blood of the bullock, and hath sprinkled with his finger on the front of the mercy-seat eastward; even at the front of the mercy-seat he doth sprinkle seven times of the blood with his finger. |
[14]And he shall takeH3947[H8804] of the bloodH1818 of the bullockH6499, and sprinkleH5137[H8689] it with his fingerH676 upon the mercy seatH3727 eastwardH6924; and beforeH6440 the mercy seatH3727 shall he sprinkleH5137[H8686] of the bloodH1818 with his fingerH676 sevenH7651 timesH6471. |
| [15]`And he hath slaughtered the goat of the sin-offering which [is] the people's, and hath brought in its blood unto the inside of the vail, and hath done with its blood as he hath done with the blood of the bullock, and hath sprinkled it on the mercy-seat, and at the front of the mercy-seat, |
[15]Then shall he killH7819[H8804] the goatH8163 of the sin offeringH2403, that is for the peopleH5971, and bringH935[H8689] his bloodH1818 withinH1004 the vailH6532, and doH6213[H8804] with that bloodH1818 as he didH6213[H8804] with the bloodH1818 of the bullockH6499, and sprinkleH5137[H8689] it upon the mercy seatH3727, and beforeH6440 the mercy seatH3727: |
| [16]and he hath made atonement for the sanctuary because of the uncleanness of the sons of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins; and so he doth for the tent of meeting which is tabernacling with them in the midst of their uncleannesses. |
[16]And he shall make an atonementH3722[H8765] for the holyH6944 place, because of the uncleannessH2932 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, and because of their transgressionsH6588 in all their sinsH2403: and so shall he doH6213[H8799] for the tabernacleH168 of the congregationH4150, that remainethH7931[H8802] among them in the midstH8432 of their uncleannessH2932. |
| [17]`And no man is in the tent of meeting in his going in to make atonement in the sanctuary, till his coming out; and he hath made atonement for himself, and for his house, and for all the assembly of Israel. |
[17]And there shall be no manH120 in the tabernacleH168 of the congregationH4150 when he goethH935[H8800] in to make an atonementH3722[H8763] in the holyH6944 place, until he come outH3318[H8800], and have made an atonementH3722[H8765] for himself, and for his householdH1004, and for all the congregationH6951 of IsraelH3478. |
| [18]`And he hath gone out unto the altar which [is] before Jehovah, and hath made atonement for it; and he hath taken of the blood of the bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and hath put on the horns of the altar round about; |
[18]And he shall go outH3318[H8804] unto the altarH4196 that is beforeH6440 the LORDH3068, and make an atonementH3722[H8765] for it; and shall takeH3947[H8804] of the bloodH1818 of the bullockH6499, and of the bloodH1818 of the goatH8163, and putH5414[H8804] it upon the hornsH7161 of the altarH4196 round aboutH5439. |
| [19]and he hath sprinkled on it of the blood with his finger seven times, and hath cleansed it, and hath hallowed it from the uncleannesses of the sons of Israel. |
[19]And he shall sprinkleH5137[H8689] of the bloodH1818 upon it with his fingerH676 sevenH7651 timesH6471, and cleanseH2891[H8765] it, and hallowH6942[H8765] it from the uncleannessH2932 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478. |
| [20]`And he hath ceased from making atonement [for] the sanctuary, and the tent of meeting, and the altar, and hath brought near the living goat; |
[20]And when he hath made an endH3615[H8765] of reconcilingH3722[H8763] the holyH6944 place, and the tabernacleH168 of the congregationH4150, and the altarH4196, he shall bringH7126[H8689] the liveH2416 goatH8163: |
| [21]and Aaron hath laid his two hands on the head of the living goat, and hath confessed over it all the iniquities of the sons of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, and hath put them on the head of the goat, and hath sent [it] away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness; |
[21]And AaronH175 shall layH5564[H8804] bothH8147 his handsH3027 upon the headH7218 of the liveH2416 goatH8163, and confessH3034[H8694] over him all the iniquitiesH5771 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, and all their transgressionsH6588 in all their sinsH2403, puttingH5414[H8804] them upon the headH7218 of the goatH8163, and shall send him awayH7971[H8765] by the handH3027 of a fitH6261 manH376 into the wildernessH4057: |
| [22]and the goat hath borne on him all their iniquities unto a land of separation. `And he hath sent the goat away into the wilderness, |
[22]And the goatH8163 shall bearH5375[H8804] upon him all their iniquitiesH5771 unto a landH776 not inhabitedH1509: and he shall let goH7971[H8765] the goatH8163 in the wildernessH4057. |
| [23]and Aaron hath come in unto the tent of meeting, and hath stripped off the linen garments which he had put on in his going in unto the sanctuary, and hath placed them there; |
[23]And AaronH175 shall comeH935[H8804] into the tabernacleH168 of the congregationH4150, and shall put offH6584[H8804] the linenH906 garmentsH899, which he put onH3847[H8804] when he wentH935[H8800] into the holyH6944 place, and shall leaveH3240 them thereH8689: |
| [24]and he hath bathed his flesh with water in the holy place, and hath put on his garments, and hath come out, and hath made his burnt-offering, and the burnt-offering of the people, and hath made atonement for himself and for the people; |
[24]And he shall washH7364[H8804] his fleshH1320 with waterH4325 in the holyH6918 placeH4725, and put onH3847[H8804] his garmentsH899, and come forthH3318[H8804], and offerH6213[H8804] his burnt offeringH5930, and the burnt offeringH5930 of the peopleH5971, and make an atonementH3722[H8765] for himself, and for the peopleH5971. |
| [25]and with the fat of the sin-offering he doth make perfume on the altar. |
[25]And the fatH2459 of the sin offeringH2403 shall he burnH6999[H8686] upon the altarH4196. |
| [26]`And he who is sending away the goat for a goat of departure doth wash his garments, and hath bathed his flesh with water, and afterwards he cometh in unto the camp. |
[26]And he that let goH7971[H8764] the goatH8163 for the scapegoatH5799 shall washH3526[H8762] his clothesH899, and batheH7364[H8804] his fleshH1320 in waterH4325, and afterwardH310 comeH935[H8799] into the campH4264. |
| [27]`And the bullock of the sin-offering, and the goat of the sin-offering, whose blood hath been brought in to make atonement in the sanctuary, doth [one] bring out unto the outside of the camp, and they have burnt with fire their skins, and their flesh, and their dung; |
[27]And the bullockH6499 for the sin offeringH2403, and the goatH8163 for the sin offeringH2403, whose bloodH1818 was brought inH935[H8717] to make atonementH3722[H8763] in the holyH6944 place, shall one carry forthH3318[H8686] withoutH2351 the campH4264; and they shall burnH8313[H8804] in the fireH784 their skinsH5785, and their fleshH1320, and their dungH6569. |
| [28]and he who is burning them doth wash his garments, and hath bathed his flesh with water, and afterwards he cometh in unto the camp. |
[28]And he that burnethH8313[H8802] them shall washH3526[H8762] his clothesH899, and batheH7364[H8804] his fleshH1320 in waterH4325, and afterwardH310 he shall comeH935[H8799] into the campH4264. |
| [29]`And it hath been to you for a statute age-during, in the seventh month, in the tenth of the month, ye humble yourselves, and do no work -- the native, and the sojourner who is sojourning in your midst; |
[29]And this shall be a statuteH2708 for everH5769 unto you: that in the seventhH7637 monthH2320, on the tenthH6218 day of the monthH2320, ye shall afflictH6031[H8762] your soulsH5315, and doH6213[H8799] no workH4399 at all, whether it be one of your own countryH249, or a strangerH1616 that sojournethH1481[H8802] among youH8432: |
| [30]for on this day he maketh atonement for you, to cleanse you; from all your sins before Jehovah ye are clean; |
[30]For on that dayH3117 shall the priest make an atonementH3722[H8762] for you, to cleanseH2891[H8763] you, that ye may be cleanH2891[H8799] from all your sinsH2403 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068. |
| [31]it [is] to you a sabbath of rest, and ye have humbled yourselves -- a statute age-during. |
[31]It shall be a sabbathH7676 of restH7677 unto you, and ye shall afflictH6031[H8765] your soulsH5315, by a statuteH2708 for everH5769. |
| [32]`And the priest whom he doth anoint, and whose hand he doth consecrate to act as priest instead of his father, hath made atonement, and hath put on the linen garments, the holy garments; |
[32]And the priestH3548, whom he shall anointH4886[H8799], and whom he shall consecrateH4390[H8762][H3027] to minister in the priest's officeH3547[H8763] in his father'sH1 stead, shall make the atonementH3722[H8765], and shall put onH3847[H8804] the linenH906 clothesH899, even the holyH6944 garmentsH899: |
| [33]and he hath made atonement [for] the holy sanctuary; and [for] the tent of meeting, even [for] the altar he doth make atonement; yea, for the priests, and for all the people of the assembly he maketh atonement. |
[33]And he shall make an atonementH3722[H8765] for the holyH6944 sanctuaryH4720, and he shall make an atonementH3722[H8762] for the tabernacleH168 of the congregationH4150, and for the altarH4196, and he shall make an atonementH3722[H8762] for the priestsH3548, and for all the peopleH5971 of the congregationH6951. |
| [34]`And this hath been to you for a statute age-during, to make atonement for the sons of Israel, because of all their sins, once in a year;' and he doth as Jehovah hath commanded Moses. |
[34]And this shall be an everlastingH5769 statuteH2708 unto you, to make an atonementH3722[H8763] for the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 for all their sinsH2403 onceH259 a yearH8141. And he didH6213[H8799] as the LORDH3068 commandedH6680[H8765] MosesH4872. |
