[1]And the LORDH3068 saidH559[H8799] unto MosesH4872, SpeakH559[H8798] unto the priestsH3548 the sonsH1121 of AaronH175, and sayH559[H8804] unto them, There shall none be defiledH2930[H8691] for the deadH5315 among his peopleH5971: [1]And ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ said unto Moses: Speak unto the priests the sons of Aaron, and say unto them: There shall none defile himself for the dead among his people;
[2]But for his kinH7607, that is nearH7138 unto him, that is, for his motherH517, and for his fatherH1, and for his sonH1121, and for his daughterH1323, and for his brotherH251, [2]Except for his kin, that is near unto him, for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother;
[3]And for his sisterH269 a virginH1330, that is nighH7138 unto him, which hath had no husbandH376; for her may he be defiledH2930.[H8691] [3]And for his sister a virgin, that is near unto him, that hath had no husband, for her may he defile himself.
[4]But he shall not defileH2930[H8691] himself, being a chief manH1167 among his peopleH5971, to profaneH2490 himselfH8736. [4]He shall not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself.
[5]They shall not makeH7139[H8799] baldnessH7144 upon their headH7218, neither shall they shave offH1548[H8762] the cornerH6285 of their beardH2206, nor makeH8295[H8799] any cuttingsH8296 in their fleshH1320. [5]They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corners of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.
[6]They shall be holyH6944 unto their GodH430, and not profaneH2490[H8762] the nameH8034 of their GodH430: for the offeringsH801 of the LORDH3068 made by fireH801, and the breadH3899 of their GodH430, they do offerH7126[H8688]: therefore they shall be holyH6918. [6]They shall be holy unto their God, and not profane the name of their God; for the offerings of ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ made by fire, the bread of their God, they do offer; therefore they shall be holy.
[7]They shall not takeH3947[H8799] a wifeH802 that is a whoreH2181[H8802], or profaneH2491; neither shall they takeH3947[H8799] a womanH802 put awayH1644[H8803] from her husbandH376: for he is holyH6918 unto his GodH430. [7]They shall not take a woman that is a harlot, or profaned; neither shall they take a woman put away from her husband; for he is holy unto his God.
[8]Thou shalt sanctifyH6942[H8765] him therefore; for he offerethH7126[H8688] the breadH3899 of thy GodH430: he shall be holyH6918 unto thee: for I the LORDH3068, which sanctifyH6942[H8764] you, am holyH6918. [8]Thou shalt sanctify him therefore; for he offereth the bread of thy God; he shall be holy unto thee; for I ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎, who sanctify you, am holy.
[9]And the daughterH1323 of anyH376 priestH3548, if she profaneH2490[H8735] herself by playing the whoreH2181[H8800], she profanethH2490[H8764] her fatherH1: she shall be burntH8313[H8735] with fireH784. [9]And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the harlot, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.
[10]And he that is the highH1419 priestH3548 among his brethrenH251, upon whose headH7218 the anointingH4888 oilH8081 was pouredH3332[H8714], and that is consecratedH4390[H8765][H3027] to putH3847[H8800] on the garmentsH899, shall not uncoverH6544[H8799] his headH7218, nor rendH6533[H8799] his clothesH899; [10]And the priest that is highest among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil is poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not let the hair of his head go loose, nor rend his clothes;
[11]Neither shall he go inH935[H8799] to any deadH4191[H8801] bodyH5315, nor defileH2930[H8691] himself for his fatherH1, or for his motherH517; [11]Neither shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother;
[12]Neither shall he go outH3318[H8799] of the sanctuaryH4720, nor profaneH2490[H8762] the sanctuaryH4720 of his GodH430; for the crownH5145 of the anointingH4888 oilH8081 of his GodH430 is upon him: I am the LORDH3068. [12]Neither shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the consecration of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎.
[13]And he shall takeH3947[H8799] a wifeH802 in her virginityH1331. [13]And he shall take a wife in her virginity.
[14]A widowH490, or a divorced womanH1644[H8803], or profaneH2491, or an harlotH2181[H8802], these shall he not takeH3947[H8799]: but he shall takeH3947[H8799] a virginH1330 of his own peopleH5971 to wifeH802. [14]A widow, or one divorced, or a profaned woman, or a harlot, these shall he not take; but a virgin of his own people shall he take to wife.
[15]Neither shall he profaneH2490[H8762] his seedH2233 among his peopleH5971: for I the LORDH3068 do sanctifyH6942 himH8764. [15]And he shall not profane his seed among his people; for I am ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ who sanctify him.
[16]And the LORDH3068 spakeH1696[H8762] unto MosesH4872, sayingH559,[H8800] [16]And ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ spoke unto Moses, saying:
[17]SpeakH1696[H8761] unto AaronH175, sayingH559[H8800], WhosoeverH376 he be of thy seedH2233 in their generationsH1755 that hath any blemishH3971, let him not approachH7126[H8799] to offerH7126[H8687] the breadH3899 of his GodH430. [17]Speak unto Aaron, saying: Whosoever he be of thy seed throughout their generations that hath a blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God.
[18]For whatsoever manH376 he be that hath a blemishH3971, he shall not approachH7126[H8799]: a blindH5787 manH376, or a lameH6455, or he that hath a flat noseH2763[H8803], H8311or any thing superfluousH8803 [18]For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath any thing maimed, or anything too long,
[19]Or a manH376 that is brokenfootedH7667[H7272], H7667or brokenhandedH3027 [19]Or a man that is broken-footed, or broken-handed,
[20]Or crookbacktH1384, or a dwarfH1851, or that hath a blemishH8400 in his eyeH5869, or be scurvyH1618, or scabbedH3217, or hath his stonesH810 brokenH4790; [20]Or crook-backed, or a dwarf, or that hath his eye overspread, or is scabbed, or scurvy, or hath his stones crushed;
[21]No manH376 that hath a blemishH3971 of the seedH2233 of AaronH175 the priestH3548 shall come nighH5066[H8799] to offerH7126[H8687] the offeringsH801 of the LORDH3068 made by fireH801: he hath a blemishH3971; he shall not come nighH5066[H8799] to offerH7126[H8687] the breadH3899 of his GodH430. [21]No man of the seed of Aaron the priest, that hath a blemish, shall come nigh to offer the offerings of ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ made by fire; he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God.
[22]He shall eatH398[H8799] the breadH3899 of his GodH430, both of the mostH6944 holyH6944, and of the holyH6944. [22]He may eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy.
[23]Only he shall not go inH935[H8799] unto the vailH6532, nor come nighH5066[H8799] unto the altarH4196, because he hath a blemishH3971; that he profaneH2490[H8762] not my sanctuariesH4720: for I the LORDH3068 do sanctifyH6942 themH8764. [23]Only he shall not go in unto the veil, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish; that he profane not My holy places; for I am ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ who sanctify them.
[24]And MosesH4872 toldH1696[H8762] it unto AaronH175, and to his sonsH1121, and unto all the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478. [24]So Moses spoke unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel.
