[1]And it was that when He entered the house of one of the leaders of the Pharisees to eat bread on the day of the Sabbath and they observing were Him [1]AND it was that while he went into the house of one of the chief Pharishee to eat bread, on the day of shabath, they watched him.
[2]And behold man one who swollen was with fluid there was before Him [2]And, behold, a certain man who had gathered waters was before him.
[3]And answered Ieshu and He said to the Scribes and to the Pharisees surely it is legal on the Sabbath to heal [3]And Jeshu answered and said to the Sophree and the Pharishee, Is it lawful on the shabath to heal?
[4]They but were silent and held him He and He healed him and He dismissed him [4]But they were silent. And he took him, and healed him, and dismissed him.
[5]And He said to them who? of you should fall whose son or whose ox in a pit on the day of the Sabbath and not at once would pull and would lift up him [5]And he said to them, Who from you, whose son or his ox hath fallen into a pit on the day of shabath, doth not at once bring him forth?
[6]And not they could give Him an answer to this [6]And they could not give him the answer concerning this.
[7]And said He parable to those who were invited there upon when saw He those who chose places of the best seats [7]And he spoke a parable to them who had been invited there, forasmuch as he had observed them, that they chose the chief places of reclining:
[8]When invited you are by a man to a house banquet not go seat yourself at the best seat lest it may be he appoints there a man who is more honorable than you [8]When thou art invited by one into the house of festivity, go not to recline on the principal seat, lest there be invited thither one more honourable than thou;
[9]And should come he who you and him called and say to you give the place to this one and you will be ashamed when stand you and take you place the last [9]And he come who thyself and him had called, and say to thee, Give place to this; and thou be ashamed as thou arisest to take another place.
[10]But whenever you are invited go seat yourself last that whenever should come he who called you he may say to you my friend come up and be seated and there shall be to you glory before all of them who sit with you [10]But when thou art invited, go, recline thee in the last [seat], that when he who called thee cometh, he may say to thee, My friend, ascend and recline above, and thou shalt have honour before all of them who recline with thee.
[11]Because everyone who will exalt himself shall be humbled and everyone who will humble himself shall be exalted [11]For every one who exalteth himself shall be humbled; and every one who humbleth himself shall be exalted.
[12]He said but also to him who had invited Him whenever make you a banquet or a supper not do call your friends neither your brothers or your relatives nor your neighbors rich lest also they invite you and would be to you a reward this [12]And he said to him who had called him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, thou shouldest not call thy friends, nor thy brethren, nor thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours, lest they also call thee, and thou have this recompence.
[13]But whenever make you a reception invite the poor the disabled the maimed the blind [13]But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind,
[14]And you are blessed for there is nothing with them to repay you shall be for your reward in the resurrection of the Righteous [14]And thou shalt be blessed, because they cannot recompense thee; for thy recompence shall be in the resurrection of the just.
[15]When heard but one of those who were sitting these things he said to Him his blessing to him who will eat bread in the Kingdom of Alaha [15]But when one of those who reclined heard these [words], he said to him, Blessed he who shall eat bread in the kingdom of Aloha!
[16]Said to him Ieshu man one made a supper great and he called many [16]Jeshu saith to him, A certain man made a great supper, and called many.
[17]And he sent his servant at the time of the supper to say to those who were called behold everything is ready for you come [17]And he sent his servant, at the time of the supper, to say to them who were called, Behold, every thing is prepared for you, come.
[18]And they began from each all of them to make excuses said to him the first a field I have bought compelled I am to go to see it beg I of you allow me that should excused I [18]And every one of them began to excuse himself. The first said to him, I have bought an estate, and am constrained to go forth to see it: I beseech thee, permit me to be excused.
[19]Another said five yoke of oxen I have bought and am going I to examine them beg I of you allow me that should excused I [19]Another said, Five yoke of oxen have I bought, and I go to prove them: I beseech thee, permit me to be excused.
[20]And another said a wife I have taken and because of this not can I come [20]Another said, A wife have I taken, and therefore I cannot come.
[21]And came that servant and he said to his employer these things then was angry the owner of the house and he said to his servant go out quickly to the market places and to streets of the city and bring here the poor and the afflicted and the feeble and the blind [21]And the servant came and told his lord these things. Then the lord of the house was angry, and said to his servant, Go into the streets and outskirts of the city, and bring hither the poor, and the afflicted, and the lame, and the sightless.
[22]And said the servant my lord it is as you ordered and yet there is room [22]And the servant said, My lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is place.
[23]And said the owner to his servant go out to the streets and to the place of hedges and compel them to enter that should be filled my house [23]And the lord said to his servant, Go forth into the ways, and among the hedges, and constrain them to come in, that my house may be filled:
[24]Say I to you for that one of those men who invited were not will partake of my supper [24]For I tell you, that not one of those men who were called shall taste of my supper.
[25]And when going there were with Him crowds great He turned and He said to them [25]AND while great multitudes were going with him, he turned and said to them,
[26]Whoever comes to Me and not hates his father and his mother and his brothers and his sisters and his wife and his children and even himself a disciple not can be to Me [26]Whoever cometh with me, and doth not hate his father and his mother, and his brethren and his sisters, and his wife and his children, and himself also, a disciple he cannot be of mine.
[27]And whoever not takes his cross and comes after Me a disciple not can be to Me [27]And whoever doth not take up his cross and come after me, a disciple he cannot be of mine.
[28]Who is? for among you who wants to build a tower and not first sits down calculates its cost if is he to finish it [28]For who of you that willeth to build a tower, and doth not first sit down and reckon the expense of it, whether he have [wherewith] to finish it?
[29]Lest when he lays the foundation and not can finish all who see will mock him [29]Lest, when he shall have laid the foundation, and shall not be able to finish, all who see shall deride him,
[30]And they will say this man began to build and not could finish [30]Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
[31]Or who is? the king who goes to battle to fight with a king his neighbor and not first considers whether he can with ten thousand confront him who comes against him with twenty thousand [31]Or, what king, going to war with a king his neighbour, doth not first consider, whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him who cometh against him with twenty thousand?
[32]And if but not while he is far from him he sends envoys and pleads for peace [32]And if not, while he is distant from him, he may send legates, and pray for peace.
[33]Thus everyone of you who not forsakes all his possessions not can be to Me a disciple [33]So every one of you who doth not leave all his possession, cannot be unto me a disciple.
[34]Excellent is salt if but even salt becomes insipid with what? will it be seasoned [34]Salt is good; but if the salt also shall become insipid, with what shall it be seasoned?
[35]Not for land nor for manure is it fit outside they cast it whoever has to him an ear that hears let him hear [35]Not for the earth, nor for the dunghill, it goeth. They cast it out. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
