| [1]AND Jeshu said to his disciples, It cannot be that offences should not come, but woe to him by whom they shall come. |
[1]Ἔλεγε δὲ καὶ πρὸς τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ· ἀνένδεκτόν ἐστι τοῦ μὴ ἐλθεῖν τὰ σκάνδαλα· οὐαὶ δὲ δι᾿ οὗ ἔρχεται. |
| [2]It were better for him that an ass-millstone were hanged on his neck, and he be cast into the sea. Woe [to him] who shall offendⓘ one of these little ones! |
[2]λυσιτελεῖ αὐτῷ εἰ λίθος μυλικὸς περίκειται περὶ τὸν τράχηλον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔρριπται εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν, ἢ ἵνα σκανδαλίσῃ ἕνα τῶν μικρῶν τούτων. |
| [3]Take heed to yourselves; if thy brother transgress, reprove him, and if he repent, forgive him. |
[3]προσέχετε ἑαυτοῖς. ἐὰν δὲ ἁμάρτῃ εἰς σὲ ὁ ἀδελφός σου, ἐπιτίμησον αὐτῷ· καὶ ἐὰν μετανοήσῃ, ἄφες αὐτῷ· |
| [4]And if seven times in the day he shall trespass against thee, and seven times in the day return to thee and say, I repent, forgive him. |
[4]καὶ ἐὰν ἑπτάκις τῆς ἡμέρας ἁμάρτῃ εἰς σὲ καὶ ἑπτάκις τῆς ἡμέρας ἐπιστρέψῃ πρός σε λέγων, μετανοῶ, ἀφήσεις αὐτῷ. |
| [5]And the apostles said unto our Lord, Increase to us faith. |
[5]Καὶ εἶπον οἱ ἀπόστολοι τῷ Κυρίῳ· πρόσθες ἡμῖν πίστιν. |
| [6]He saith to them, If you had faith as a grain of mustard, you should say to this mulberry tree, Be rooted up and planted in the sea, and it would obey you. |
[6]εἶπε δὲ ὁ Κύριος· εἰ ἔχετε πίστιν ὡς κόκκον σινάπεως, ἐλέγετε ἂν τῇ συκαμίνῳ ταύτῃ, ἐκριζώθητι καὶ φυτεύθητι ἐν τῇ θαλάσσῃ, καὶ ὑπήκουσεν ἂν ὑμῖν. |
| [7]Which of you, having a servant who leadeth a yoke [of oxen] or who tendeth the flock, and when he cometh from the field, saith to him at once, Pass on and recline thyself? |
[7]Τίς δὲ ἐξ ὑμῶν δοῦλον ἔχων ἀροτριῶντα ἢ ποιμαίνοντα, ὃς εἰσελθόντι ἐκ τοῦ ἀγροῦ ἐρεῖ, εὐθέως παρελθὼν ἀνάπεσε, |
| [8]But [rather] saith to him, Prepare me something that I may sup, and gird thy loins, serve me until I have eaten and drunk, and afterwards thou also shalt eat and drink. |
[8]ἀλλ᾿ οὐχὶ ἐρεῖ αὐτῷ· ἑτοίμασον τί δειπνήσω, καὶ περιζωσάμενος διακόνει μοι ἕως φάγω καὶ πίω, καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα φάγεσαι καὶ πίεσαι σύ; |
| [9]Does that servant receive thanks because he hath done what was required of him? I consider not. |
[9]μὴ χάριν ἔχει τῷ δούλῳ ἐκείνῳ ὅτι ἐποίησε τὰ διαταχθέντα; οὐ δοκῶ. |
| [10]Thus also you, when you have done all those things which are required of you, have said, We are unprofitable servants, because what we were obligated to do, [that] have we done. |
[10]οὕτω καὶ ὑμεῖς, ὅταν ποιήσητε πάντα τὰ διαταχθέντα ὑμῖν, λέγετε ὅτι δοῦλοι ἀχρεῖοί ἐσμεν, ὅτι ὃ ὠφείλομεν ποιῆσαι πεποιήκαμεν. |
| [11]AND it was that as Jeshu was going to Urishlem, he passed among the Shomroyee from Galila. |
[11]Καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ πορεύεσθαι αὐτὸν εἰς ῾Ιερουσαλὴμ καὶ αὐτὸς διήρχετο διὰ μέσου Σαμαρείας καὶ Γαλιλαίας. |
| [12]And as he drew near to enter a certain village, there met him ten men, lepers, and they stood from afar, |
[12]καὶ εἰσερχομένου αὐτοῦ εἴς τινα κώμην ἀπήντησαν αὐτῷ δέκα λεπροὶ ἄνδρες, οἳ ἔστησαν πόρρωθεν, |
| [13]And lifted up their voice and said, Our Lord Jeshu, have mercy upon us! |
[13]καὶ αὐτοὶ ἦραν φωνὴν λέγοντες· ᾿Ιησοῦ ἐπιστάτα, ἐλέησον ἡμᾶς. |
| [14]And when he saw them, he said to them, Go show yourselves to the priests. And as they went, they were cleansed. |
[14]καὶ ἰδὼν εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· πορευθέντες ἐπιδείξατε ἑαυτοὺς τοῖς ἱερεῦσι. καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ ὑπάγειν αὐτοὺς ἐκαθαρίσθησαν. |
| [15]Then one of them, when he saw that he was cleansed, returned to him, and with a high voice glorified Aloha. |
[15]εἷς δὲ ἐξ αὐτῶν, ἰδὼν ὅτι ἰάθη, ὑπέστρεψε μετὰ φωνῆς μεγάλης δοξάζων τὸν Θεόν, |
| [16]And he fell upon his face before the feet of Jeshu, and thanked him. And, behold, this was a Shomroya. |
[16]καὶ ἔπεσεν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον παρὰ τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ εὐχαριστῶν αὐτῷ· καὶ αὐτὸς ἦν Σαμαρείτης. |
| [17]And Jeshu answered and said, Were not they who were cleansed ten? Where are the nine? |
[17]ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ ᾿Ιησοῦς εἶπεν· οὐχὶ οἱ δέκα ἐκαθαρίσθησαν; οἱ δὲ ἐννέα ποῦ; |
| [18]None have separated to come [and] give praise to Aloha, but this, who is from a strange people. |
[18]οὐχ εὑρέθησαν ὑποστρέψαντες δοῦναι δόξαν τῷ Θεῷ εἰ μὴ ὁ ἀλλογενὴς οὗτος; |
| [19]And he said to him, Arise, go; thy faith hath saved thee. |
[19]καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ· ἀναστὰς πορεύου· ἡ πίστις σου σέσωκέ σε. |
| [20]AND when Jeshu was questioned from the Pharishee, When cometh the kingdom of Aloha? he answered and said to them, The kingdom of Aloha cometh not with watchings: |
[20]᾿Επερωτηθεὶς δὲ ὑπὸ τῶν Φαρισαίων πότε ἔρχεται ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ Θεοῦ, ἀπεκρίθη αὐτοῖς καὶ εἶπεν· οὐκ ἔρχεται ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ Θεοῦ μετὰ παρατηρήσεως, |
| [21]Nor say they, Behold, it is here! and, Behold, it is there! for the kingdom of Aloha is within you. |
[21]οὐδὲ ἐροῦσιν· ἰδοὺ ὧδε ἢ ἰδοὺ ἐκεῖ· ἰδοὺ γὰρ ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ Θεοῦ ἐντὸς ὑμῶν ἐστιν. |
| [22]And he said to his disciples, The days will come, when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and you will not see. |
[22]Εἶπε δὲ πρὸς τοὺς μαθητάς· ἐλεύσονται ἡμέραι ὅτε ἐπιθυμήσετε μίαν τῶν ἡμερῶν τοῦ υἱοῦ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἰδεῖν, καὶ οὐκ ὄψεσθε. |
| [23]And if they say to you, Behold here, and, Behold there, go not. |
[23]καὶ ἐροῦσιν ὑμῖν· ἰδοὺ ὧδε, ἰδοὺ ἐκεῖ· μὴ ἀπέλθητε μηδὲ διώξητε. |
| [24]For as the lightning lighteneth from heaven, and illuminateth all beneath the heaven, so shall be the Son of man in his day. |
[24]ὥσπερ γὰρ ἡ ἀστραπὴ ἀστράπτουσα ἐκ τῆς ὑπ᾿ οὐρανὸν εἰς τὴν ὑπ᾿ οὐρανὸν λάμπει, οὕτως ἔσται καὶ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ αὐτοῦ. |
| [25]But first it will be that he shall suffer many [things], and be rejected of this generation. |
[25]πρῶτον δὲ δεῖ αὐτὸν πολλὰ παθεῖν καὶ ἀποδοκιμασθῆναι ἀπὸ τῆς γενεᾶς ταύτης. |
| [26]And as it was in the days of Nûch, so will it be in the days of the Son of man; |
[26]καὶ καθὼς ἐγένετο ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις Νῶε, οὕτως ἔσται καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις τοῦ υἱοῦ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου· |
| [27]When they ate and drank and took wives and gave to husbands, until the day when Nûch entered into the ark, and the deluge came, and destroyed every one. |
[27]ἤσθιον, ἔπινον, ἐγάμουν, ἐξεγαμίζοντο, ἄχρι ἧς ἡμέρας εἰσῆλθε Νῶε εἰς τὴν κιβωτόν, καὶ ἦλθεν ὁ κατακλυσμὸς καὶ ἀπώλεσεν ἅπαντας. |
| [28]So also as it was in the days of Lut; they ate and drank, and bought and sold, and planted and builded; |
[28]ὁμοίως καὶ ὡς ἐγένετο ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις Λώτ· ἤσθιον, ἔπινον, ἠγόραζον, ἐπώλουν, ἐφύτευον, ᾠκοδόμουν· |
| [29]But in the day that Lut went forth from Sadum, the Lord rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. |
[29]ᾗ δὲ ἡμέρᾳ ἐξῆλθε Λὼτ ἀπὸ Σοδόμων, ἔβρεξε πῦρ καὶ θεῖον ἀπ᾿ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἀπώλεσεν ἅπαντας. |
| [30]Thus will it be in the day when the Son of man shall be revealed. |
[30]κατὰ τὰ αὐτὰ ἔσται ᾗ ἡμέρᾳ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἀποκαλύπτεται. |
| [31]In that day, he who is on the roof and his garments in the house, let him not go down and take them. And he who is in the field, let him not turn his back. |
[31]ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ὃς ἔσται ἐπὶ τοῦ δώματος καὶ τὰ σκεύη αὐτοῦ ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ, μὴ καταβάτω ἆραι αὐτά, καὶ ὁ ἐν τῷ ἀγρῷ ὁμοίως μὴ ἐπιστρεψάτω εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω. |
| [32]Remember the wife of Lut. |
[32]μνημονεύετε τῆς γυναικὸς Λώτ. |
| [33]Whoever willeth to save his life shall lose it, and whoever is willing to lose his life shall save it. |
[33]ὃς ἐὰν ζητήσῃ τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ σῶσαι, ἀπολέσει αὐτήν, καὶ ὃς ἐὰν ἀπολέσῃ αὐτήν, ζωογονήσει αὐτήν. |
| [34]I tell you, that in that night two shall be in one bed; the one shall be taken and the other left. |
[34]λέγω ὑμῖν, ταύτῃ τῇ νυκτὶ δύο ἔσονται ἐπὶ κλίνης μιᾶς, εἷς παραληφθήσεται καὶ ὁ ἕτερος ἀφεθήσεται· |
| [35]Two shall be grinding together, one shall be taken and the other left. |
[35]δύο ἔσονται ἀλήθουσαι ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτό, μία παραληφθήσεται καὶ ἡ ἑτέρα ἀφεθήσεται· |
| [36]Two shall be in the field, one shall be taken and the other left. |
[36]δύο ἐν τῷ ἀγρῷ, εἷς παραληφθήσεται καὶ ὁ ἕτερος ἀφεθήσεται. |
| [37]They answered and said to him, Where, our Lord? He saith to them, Where the body is, there will be assembled the eagles. |
[37]καὶ ἀποκριθέντες λέγουσιν αὐτῷ· ποῦ, Κύριε; ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· ὅπου τὸ σῶμα, ἐκεῖ ἐπισυναχθήσονται καὶ οἱ ἀετοί. |
