[1]And he said unto the disciples, `It is impossible for the stumbling blocks not to come, but wo [to him] through whom they come; |
[1]And said He Ieshu to His disciples not it is possible that not shall come offenses woe! but to him by whose hand they shall come |
[2]it is more profitable to him if a weighty millstone is put round about his neck, and he hath been cast into the sea, than that he may cause one of these little ones to stumble. |
[2]Better it were for him if a millstone of a donkey were hung on his neck and he were cast into the sea than that he stumble one of these little ones |
[3]`Take heed to yourselves, and, if thy brother may sin in regard to thee, rebuke him, and if he may reform, forgive him, |
[3]Guard your souls if should sin ? your brother rebuke him and if he repents forgive him |
[4]and if seven times in the day he may sin against thee, and seven times in the day may turn back to thee, saying, I reform; thou shalt forgive him.' |
[4]And if seven times in a day he sins against you and seven times in the day returns to you and says sorry I am forgive him |
[5]And the apostles said to the Lord, `Add to us faith;' |
[5]And said the apostles to our Lord increase to us faith |
[6]and the Lord said, `If ye had faith as a grain of mustard, ye would have said to this sycamine, Be uprooted, and be planted in the sea, and it would have obeyed you. |
[6]He said to them if there were to you faith like a grain of mustard seed say you may to sycamore tree this be uprooted and be planted in the sea and would obey it you |
[7]`But, who is he of you -- having a servant ploughing or feeding -- who, to him having come in out of the field, will say, Having come near, recline at meat? |
[7]Who is it? but among you who has to him a servant who drives a plow or who tends sheep and if he would come from the field would say to him at once go on recline for supper |
[8]but will not [rather] say to him, Prepare what I may sup, and having girded thyself about, minister to me, till I eat and drink, and after these things thou shalt eat and drink? |
[8]But he says to him prepare for me whatever I may eat and put on your apron serve me until I shall have eaten and I shall have drunk and after this also you will eat and you will drink |
[9]Hath he favour to that servant because he did the things directed? I think not. |
[9]Is? his goodness acceptable because that servant did the thing that was commanded to him not think I |
[10]`So also ye, when ye may have done all the things directed you, say -- We are unprofitable servants, because that which we owed to do -- we have done.' |
[10]Thus also you whenever you have done all those things that were commanded to you Say you servants we are unprofitable because that which obligated we were to do we have done |
[11]And it came to pass, in his going on to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee, |
[11]And it was that as went Ieshu to Jerusalem passed through He among Samaritans to Galila |
[12]and he entering into a certain village, there met him ten leprous men, who stood afar off, |
[12]And when He approached to enter a village certain met Him ten men lepers and they stood from far off |
[13]and they lifted up the voice, saying, `Jesus, master, deal kindly with us;' |
[13]And they lifted up their voices and they were saying our Rabbi Ieshu have mercy on us |
[14]and having seen [them], he said to them, `Having gone on, shew yourselves to the priests;' and it came to pass, in their going, they were cleansed, |
[14]And when He saw them He said to them go show yourselves to the priests and as they were going they were purified |
[15]and one of them having seen that he was healed did turn back, with a loud voice glorifying God, |
[15]One but of them when he saw that he was purified he returned to Him and with a voice loud praising he was to Alaha |
[16]and he fell upon [his] face at his feet, giving thanks to him, and he was a Samaritan. |
[16]He fell on his face before the feet of Ieshu as he gave thanks to Him and one this a Samaritan he was |
[17]And Jesus answering said, `Were not the ten cleansed, and the nine -- where? |
[17]Answered but Ieshu and He said not? there ten were those who were purified where? are the nine |
[18]There were not found who did turn back to give glory to God, except this alien;' |
[18]Have? they neglected to come give glory to Alaha except this one who from a people that is foreign |
[19]and he said to him, `Having risen, be going on, thy faith hath saved thee.' |
[19]And He said to him arise go your faith has saved you |
[20]And having been questioned by the Pharisees, when the reign of God doth come, he answered them, and said, `The reign of God doth not come with observation; |
[20]And when asked him Ieshu some Pharisees when? is coming the Kingdom of Alaha He answered and He said to them not comes the Kingdom of Alaha with what is observed |
[21]nor shall they say, Lo, here; or lo, there; for lo, the reign of God is within you.' |
[21]Neither do they say behold here it is and behold here to there it is behold for the Kingdom of Alaha within some of you is |
[22]And he said unto his disciples, `Days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and ye shall not behold [it]; |
[22]And He said to His disciples shall come the days when you shall long to see one of the days of The Son of Man and not you shall see |
[23]and they shall say to you, Lo, here; or lo, there; ye may not go away, nor follow; |
[23]And if they will say to you behold here He is and behold here and there He is do not go |
[24]for as the lightning that is lightening out of the one [part] under heaven, to the other part under heaven doth shine, so shall be also the Son of Man in his day; |
[24]Just as for lightning flashes from the sky and all under the sky is lit up thus shall be The Son of Man in His day |
[25]and first it behoveth him to suffer many things, and to be rejected by this generation. |
[25]First but is going He to suffer many things and He shall be rejected by generation this |
[26]`And, as it came to pass in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of Man; |
[26]And as it was in the days of Noah thus shall it be in the days of The Son of Man |
[27]they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were given in marriage, till the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the deluge came, and destroyed all; |
[27]For eating they were and drinking and taking wives and giving to men until the day that entered Noah the ark and came the flood and destroyed every person |
[28]in like manner also, as it came to pass in the days of Lot; they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building; |
[28]And just as again it was in the days of Lot when eating they were and drinking and buying and selling and planting they were and building |
[29]and on the day Lot went forth from Sodom, He rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed all. |
[29]In the day but that went out Lot from Sodom caused to rain the Lord fire and brimstone from the sky and destroyed all of them |
[30]`According to these things it shall be, in the day the Son of Man is revealed; |
[30]Thus shall it be in the day when is revealed The Son of Man |
[31]in that day, he who shall be on the house top, and his vessels in the house, let him not come down to take them away; and he in the field, in like manner, let him not turn backward; |
[31]In that day whoever on the roof is and his stuff in the house not let him come down to take them and whoever in the field is not let him turn back |
[32]remember the wife of Lot. |
[32]Remember the wife of Lot |
[33]Whoever may seek to save his life, shall lose it; and whoever may lose it, shall preserve it. |
[33]Whoever chooses to save his life shall lose it and whoever will lose his life shall find it |
[34]`I say to you, In that night, there shall be two men on one couch, the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left; |
[34]Say I to you in that night two shall be in one bed one shall be taken captive and the other shall be left |
[35]two women shall be grinding at the same place together, the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left; |
[35]Two women shall be grinding meal together one shall be led away captive and the other shall be left |
[36]two men shall be in the field, the one shall be taken, and the other left.' |
[36]Two shall be in a field one shall taken captive and the other shall be left |
[37]And they answering say to him, `Where, sir?' and he said to them, `Where the body [is], there will the eagles be gathered together.' |
[37]And they answered and they were saying to Him to where? our Lord He said to them wherever are the bodies there shall be gathered the eagles |
