| [1]וכד על ישׁוע ועבר באיריחו |
[1]And when entered Ieshu and passed through Jericho |
| [2]גברא חד דשׁמה זכי עתירא הוא ורב מכסא |
[2]A man certain whose name Zakkai a rich man he was and chief of tax collectors |
| [3]וצבא הוא דנחזא לישׁוע דמנו ולא משׁכח הוא מנ כנשׁא מטל דבקומתה זעור הוא זכי |
[3]And wanted he to see Ieshu who He is and not able he was from the crowd because in his stature small was Zakkai |
| [4]ורהט קדמה לישׁוע וסלק לה לתתא פכיהתא דנחזיוהי מטל דהכות עתיד הוא דנעבר |
[4]And he ran before Him to Ieshu and climbed he a fig tree bare to see Him because there going he was to pass by |
| [5]וכד אתא להי דוכתא ישׁוע חזיהי ואמר לה אסתרהב חות זכי יומנא גיר ולא דבביתכ אהוא |
[5]And when He came to that place Ieshu saw him and He said to him hasten come down Zakkai today for must in your house I be |
| [6]ואסתרהב נחת וקבלה כד חדא |
[6]And he made haste he came down and received Him while rejoicing |
| [7]כד חזו דינ כלהונ רטנינ הוו ואמרינ דלות גברא חטיא על שׁרא |
[7]When saw but all of them complaining they were and they were saying that with a man a sinner He entered he lodged |
| [8]קמ דינ זכי ואמר לישׁוע הא מרי פלגות נכסי יהב אנא למסכנא ולכלנשׁ מדמ דגלזת חד בארבעא פרע אנא |
[8]Arose but Zakkai and he said to Ieshu behold my Lord half my wealth give I to the poor and to everyman anything that I have seized each with four repay I |
| [9]אמר לה ישׁוע יומנא הוו חיא לביתא הנא מטל דאפ הנא ברה הו דאברהמ |
[9]Said to him Ieshu today has come The Life to house this because also This One the Son is of Abraham |
| [10]אתא גיר ברה דאנשׁא דנבעא ונחא הו מדמ דאביד הוא |
[10]Has come for the Son of Man to seek and to save that thing which lost was |
| [11]וכד שׁמעינ הוו הלינ אוספ למאמר מתלא מטל דקריב הוא לאורשׁלמ וסברינ הוו דבהי שׁעתא עתידא דתתגלא מלכותה דאלהא |
[11]And as hearing they were these things He added to speak a parable because nearing He was to Jerusalem and expecting they were that in the same hour was going to be revealed the Kingdom of Alaha |
| [12]ואמר גברא חד בר טוהמא רבא אזל לאתרא רחיקא דנסב לה מלכותא ונהפוכ |
[12]And He said a man certain son of descent great went to a region distant to receive to him a kingdom and to return |
| [13]וקרא עסרא עבדוהי ויהב להונ עסרא מנינ ואמר להונ אתתגרו עד אתא אנא |
[13]And he called ten his servants and he gave to them ten minas and he said to them invest in trading until come I |
| [14]בני מדינתה דינ סנינ הוו לה ושׁדרו איזגדא בתרה ואמרינ לא צבינ חננ דנמלכ עלינ הנא |
[14]The sons of his city but hating were him and they sent envoys after him and they were saying not want we to reign over us this one |
| [15]וכד נסב מלכותא והפכ אמר דנקרונ לה הנונ עבדוהי דיהב להונ כספא דנדע מנא כל חד חד מנהונ אתתגר |
[15]And when he had received the kingdom and returned he said to summon to him those his servants he had given to whom money that he may know what? every one each of them had traded |
| [16]ואתא קדמיא ואמר מרי מניכ עסרא מנינ אותר |
[16]And came the first and he said my lord your mina ten minas has gained |
| [17]אמר לה איו עבדא טבא דבקליל אשׁתכחת מהימנ תהוא שׁליט על עסרא כרכינ |
[17]He said to him excellent! servant good for with a little you are found faithful you shall be a ruler over ten fortress cities |
| [18]ואתא דתרינ ואמר מרי מניכ חמשׁא מנינ עבד |
[18]And came the second and he said my lord your mina five minas has made |
| [19]אמר אפ להנא אפ אנת תהוא שׁליט על חמשׁא כרכינ |
[19]He said also to this one also you shall be ruler over five fortress cities |
| [20]ואתא אחרנא ואמר מרי הא מניכ הו דאית הוא לותי כד סימ בסדונא |
[20]And came another and he said my lord behold mina that that was to me now is laid in fine linen |
| [21]דחלת גיר מנכ דגברא אנת קשׁיא ושׁקל אנת מדמ דלא סמת וחצד אנת מדמ דלא זרעת |
[21]I was afraid for of you for a man you are hard and take up you the thing that not you laid down and reap you the thing that not you have sown |
| [22]אמר לה מנ פומכ אדונכ עבדא בישׁא ידע הוית לי דגברא אנא קשׁיא ושׁקל אנא מדמ דלא סמת וחצד אנא מדמ דלא זרעת |
[22]He said to him from your mouth I shall judge you servant evil known you had me that a man I am hard and take up I the thing that not I have laid down and reap I the thing that not I have sown |
| [23]למנא לא יהבת כספי על פתורא ואנא אתא הוית תבע לה עמ רביתה |
[23]Why? not did you put my money upon the exchange and I come would have to seek it with its interest |
| [24]ולהנונ דקימינ קדמוהי אמר סבו מנה מניא והבו להו דאית לותה עסרא מנינ |
[24]And to those who stood before him he said take from him the mina and give to him who has with him ten minas |
| [25]אמרינ לה מרנ אית לותה עסרא מנינ |
[25]They were saying to him our lord there are with him ten minas |
| [26]אמר להונ אמר אנא לכונ דלכל מנ דאית לה נתיהב לה ומנ הו דלית לה אפ הו דאית לה נתנסב מנה |
[26]He said to them say I to you that everyone whoever has it shall be given it and from him who has not it even that which he has to him shall be taken from him |
| [27]ברמ להנונ בעלדבבי אילינ דלא צבו דאמלכ עליהונ איתו אנונ וקטלו אנונ קדמי |
[27]However those my enemies whoever not wanted me to reign over them bring them and kill them before me |
| [28]וכד אמר הלינ ישׁוע נפק לקדמוהי דנאזל לאורשׁלמ |
[28]And when had said these things Ieshu He went out to those going before Him to go to Jerusalem |
| [29]וכד מטי לבית-פגא ובית-עניא על גנב טורא דמתקרא דבית זיתא שׁדר תרינ מנ תלמידוהי |
[29]And when He arrived at Bayth-Phage and Bayth-Anya on the side of the mount which is called D'Bayth Zaytha He sent two of His disciples |
| [30]ואמר להונ זלו לקריתא הי דלקובלנ וכד עאלינ אנתונ לה הא משׁכחינ אנתונ עילא דאסיר דאנשׁ ממתומ לא רכב עלוהי שׁרו איתאוהי |
[30]And He said to them go to the village that is which opposite us and when enter you it behold shall find you a colt that is tied that a man ever not has ridden upon him loose bring Him |
| [31]ואנ אנשׁ משׁאל לכונ למנא שׁרינ אנתונ לה הכנא אמרו לה למרנ מתבעא |
[31]And if a man asks you why? loosing are you him thus say to him for our Lord he is needed |
| [32]ואזלו הנונ דאשׁתדרו ואשׁכחו איכנא דאמר להונ |
[32]And went they who were sent and they found Just as that He had said to them |
| [33]וכד שׁרינ לה לעילא אמרינ להונ מרוהי מנא שׁרינ אנתונ עילא הו |
[33]And as they loosed him the colt they were saying to them his owners why? loosing are you colt that |
| [34]ואמרו להונ דלמרנ מתבעא |
[34]And they said to them that for our Lord he is needed |
| [35]ואיתיוהי לות ישׁוע וארמיו על עילא מאניהונ וארכבוהי לישׁוע עלוהי |
[35]And they brought him to Ieshu and they cast on the colt their garments and set Ieshu upon him |
| [36]כד דינ אזל פרסינ הוו מאניהונ באורחא |
[36]As but He went spreading they were their garments in the road |
| [37]וכד קרב למחתתא דטורא דבית זיתא שׁריו כלה כנשׁא דתלמידא חדינ ומשׁבחינ לאלהא בקלא רמא על כל חילא דחזו |
[37]And when he approached the descent of the Mount of the house of Olives began all the crowds of disciples rejoicing and praising to Alaha with voices loud for all the mighty works that they had seen |
| [38]ואמרינ הוו בריכ הו מלכא דאתא בשׁמה דמריא שׁלמא בשׁמיא ושׁובחא במרומא |
[38]And saying they were blessed is the King Who comes in the Name of the Lord peace in Heaven and glory in the highest Heaven |
| [39]אנשׁא דינ מנ פרישׁא מנ ביני כנשׁא אמרינ לה רבי כאי בתלמידיכ |
[39]Men but some Pharisees from among the crowds were saying to Him Rabbi rebuke Your disciples |
| [40]אמר להונ אמר אנא לכונ דאנ הלינ נשׁתקונ כאפא נקעינ |
[40]He said to them say I to you that if these would be silent the stones would be crying out loud |
| [41]וכד קרב וחזה למדינתא בכא עליה |
[41]And when He came near and He saw the city He wept over it |
| [42]ואמר אלו כי ידעתי אילינ דאיתיהינ דשׁלמכי אפנ בהנא יומכי השׁא דינ אתכסי להינ מנ עיניכי |
[42]And He said if only now you had known those things that are of your peace even if in this your day now but are hidden these things from your eyes |
| [43]נאתונ לכי דינ יומתא דנחדרונכי בעלדבביכי ונאלצונכי מנ כל דוכא |
[43]Shall come to you but the days when shall surround you your enemies and they shall press you in from every place |
| [44]ונסחפונכי ולבניכי בגוכי ולא נשׁבקונ בכי כאפ על כאפ חלפ דלא ידעתי זבנא דסוערנכי |
[44]And they shall destroy you and your children within you and not they shall leave in you a stone on a stone because that not you knew the time of your visitation |
| [45]וכד על להיכלא שׁרי למפקו לאילינ דזבנינ בה ומזבנינ |
[45]And when He entered the temple He began to cast out those who bought in it and sold |
| [46]ואמר להונ כתיב דביתי בית צלותא איתוהי אנתונ דינ עבדתוניהי מערתא דלסטיא |
[46]And He said to them it is written that My house the house of prayer is you but have made it a den of robbers |
| [47]והו מלפ הוא כל יומ בהיכלא רבי כהנא דינ וספרא וקשׁישׁא דעמא בעינ הוו למובדותה |
[47]And he teaching was every day in the temple Chief Priests but and the Scribes and The Elders of the people seeking were to destroy Him |
| [48]ולא משׁכחינ הוו מנא נעבדונ לה כלה גיר עמא תלא הוא בה למשׁמעה |
[48]And not finding they were what they might do to Him all for the people hanging were on Him to hear Him |
