| [1]Now the feast of unleavened bread drew near, which is called the Passover. |
[1]קריב הוא דינ עדעדא דפטירא דמתקרא פצחא |
| [2]And the high Priests and Scribes sought how they might kill him: for they feared the people. |
[2]ובעינ הוו רבי כהנא וספרא דאיכנא נקטלוניהי דחלינ הוו גיר מנ עמא |
| [3]Then entered Satan into Judas, who was called Iscariot, and was of the number of the twelve. |
[3]על הוא דינ סטנא ביהודא דמתקרא סכריוטא דאיתוהי הוא מנ מנינא דתרעסר |
| [4]And he went his way, and communed with the high Priests and captains, how he might betray him to them. |
[4]ואזל מלל עמ רבי כהנא וספרא ורבי חילא דהיכלא איכ דנשׁלמיוהי להונ |
| [5]So they were glad, and agreed to give him money. |
[5]וחדיו ואקימו דנתלונ לה כספא |
| [6]And he consented, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them, when the people were away. |
[6]ואשׁתודי להונ ובעא הוא פלעא דנשׁלמיוהי להונ בלעד מנ כנשׁא |
| [7] Then came the day of unleavened bread when the Passover must be sacrificed. |
[7]ומטי יומא דפטירא דבה אית הוא עידא דנתנכס פצחא |
| [8]And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go, and prepare us the Passover, that we may eat it. |
[8]ושׁדר ישׁוע לכאפא וליוחננ ואמר להונ זלו טיבו לנ פצחא דנלעס |
| [9]And they said to him, Where wilt thou, that we prepare it? |
[9]הנונ דינ אמרו לה איכא צבא אנת דנטיב |
| [10]Then he said unto them, Behold, when ye be entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water: follow him into the house that he entereth in, |
[10]אמר להונ הא מא דעאלינ אנתונ למדינתא פגע בכונ גברא דשׁקיל גרבא דמיא זלו בתרה |
| [11]And say unto the good man of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the lodging where I shall eat my Passover with my disciples? |
[11]ואיכא דעאל אמרו למרה דביתא רבנ אמר אינו בית משׁריא איכא דאכול פצחא עמ תלמידי |
| [12]Then he shall show you a great high chamber trimmed: there make it ready. |
[12]והא הו מחוא לכונ עליתא חדא רבתא דמשׁויא תמנ טיבו |
| [13]So they went and found as he had said unto them, and made ready the Passover. |
[13]ואזלו אשׁכחו איכ דאמר להונ וטיבו פצחא |
| [14]And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve Apostles with him. |
[14]וכד הוא עדנא אתא ישׁוע אסתמכ ותרעסר שׁליחא עמה |
| [15]Then he said unto them, I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. |
[15]ואמר להונ רגתא רגתני דהנא פצחא אכול עמכונ קדמ דאחשׁ |
| [16]For I say unto you, Henceforth I will not eat of it any more, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. |
[16]אמר אנא לכונ גיר דמכיל לא אכליוהי עדמא דנשׁלמ במלכותה דאלהא |
| [17]And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among you. |
17[No verse] |
| [18]For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God be come. |
18[No verse] |
| [19]And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he break it, and gave to them, saying, This is my body, which is given for you: do this in the remembrance of me. |
[19]ונסב לחמא ואודי וקצא ויהב להונ ואמר הנו פגרי דעל אפיכונ מתיהב הדא הויתונ עבדינ לדוכרני |
| [20]Likewise also after supper he took the cup, saying, This cup is the New Testament in my blood, which is shed for you. |
[20]והכות אפ על כסא מנ בתר דאחשׁמו אמר הנא כסא דיתקא חדתא בדמי דחלפיכונ מתאשׁד |
| [21]Yet behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me, is with me at the table. |
[21]ברמ הא אידה דמשׁלמני על פתורא |
| [22]And truly the Son of man goeth as it is appointed: but woe be to that man, by whom he is betrayed. |
[22]וברה דאנשׁא אזל איכנא דאתפרשׁ ברמ וי להו גברא דבאידה משׁתלמ |
| [23]Then they began to enquire among themselves which of them it should be, that should do that. |
[23]ושׁריו דנעקבונ בינתהונ דמנו כי מנהונ הו דהדא עתיד למסער |
| [24] And there arose also a strife among them, which of them should seem to be the greatest. |
[24]הוא דינ אפ חרינא בינתהונ דמנ אית בהונ דרב |
| [25]But he said unto them, The Kings of the Gentiles reign over them, and they that bear rule over them, are called Gracious lords. |
[25]הו דינ ישׁוע אמר להונ מלכיהונ דעממא מריהונ אנונ ודשׁליטינ עליהונ עבדי טבתא מתקרינ |
| [26]But ye shall not be so: but let the greatest among you be as the least: and the chiefest as he that serveth. |
[26]אנתונ דינ לא הכנא אלא אינא דרב בכונ נהוא איכ זעורא ואינא דרשׁא הו איכ משׁמשׁנא |
| [27]For who is greater, he that sitteth at table, or he that serveth? Is not he that sitteth at table? And I am among you as he that serveth. |
[27]מנו גיר רב הו דסמיכ או הו דמשׁמשׁ לא הוא הו דסמיכ אנא דינ איתי בינתכונ איכ הו דמשׁמשׁ |
| [28]And ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations. |
[28]אנתונ אנונ דינ דכתרתונ לותי בנסיוני |
| [29]Therefore I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed to me, |
[29]ואנא משׁתודא אנא לכונ איכ דאשׁתודי לי אבי מלכותא |
| [30]That ye may eat, and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on seats, and judge the twelve tribes of Israel. |
[30]דתאכלונ ותשׁתונ על פתורא דמלכותא דילי ותתבונ על כורסותא ותדונונ תרעסר שׁבטא דיסריל |
| [31] And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired you, to winnow you as wheat. |
[31]ואמר ישׁוע לשׁמעונ שׁמעונ הא סטנא שׁאל דנערובכונ איכ דלחטא |
| [32]But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: therefore when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. |
[32]ואנא בעית עליכ דלא תחסר הימנותכ ואפ אנת בזבנ אתפני ושׁרר אחיכ |
| [33]And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee into prison, and to death. |
[33]שׁמעונ דינ אמר לה מרי עמכ מטיב אנא ולבית אסירא ולמותא |
| [34]But he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before thou hast thrice denied that thou knewest me. |
[34]אמר לה ישׁוע אמר אנא לכ שׁמעונ דלא נקרא תרנגלא יומנא עדמא דתלת זבנינ תכפור דלא ידע אנת לי |
| [35] And he said unto them, When I sent you without bag, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing. |
[35]ואמר להונ כד שׁדר תכונ דלא כיסא ודלא תרמלא ומסנא למא חסר לכונ מדמ אמרינ לה ולא מדמ |
| [36]Then he said to them, But now he that hath a bag, let him take it, and likewise a scrip: and he that hath none, let him sell his coat, and buy a sword. |
[36]אמר להונ מנ השׁא מנ דאית לה כיסא נסב והכנא אפ תרמלא ומנ דלית לה סיפא נזבנ נחתה ונזבנ לה סיפא |
| [37]For I say unto you, That yet the same which is written, must be performed in me, Even with the wicked was he numbered: for doubtless those things which are written of me, have an end. |
[37]אמר אנא לכונ גיר דאפ הדא דכתיבא ולא דתתמלא בי דעמ עולא אתמנא כלהינ גיר דעלי אשׁתלמ |
| [38]And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough. |
[38]והנונ אמרינ לה מרנ הא הרכא אית תרינ סיפינ אמר להונ ספקינ |
| [39] And he came out, and went (as he was wont) to the Mount of Olives: and his disciples also followed him. |
[39]ונפק ואזל איכ דמעד הוא לטורא דבית זיתא ואזלו בתרה ואפ תלמידוהי |
| [40]And when he came to the place, he said to them, Pray, lest ye enter into temptation. |
[40]וכד מטי לדוכתא אמר להונ צלו דלא תעלונ לנסיונא |
| [41]And he gate himself from them, about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, |
[41]והו פרק מנהונ איכ משׁדא כאפא וסמ בורכא ומצלא הוא |
| [42]Saying, Father, if thou wilt, take away this cup from me: nevertheless, not my will, but thine be done. |
[42]ואמר אבא אנ צבא אנת נעברני כסא הנא ברמ לא צביני אלא דילכ נהוא |
| [43]And there appeared an Angel unto him from heaven, comforting him. |
[43]ואתחזי לה מלאכא מנ שׁמיא דמחיל לה |
| [44]But being in an agony, he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was like drops of blood, trickling down to the ground. |
[44]וכד הוא בדחלתא תכיבאית מצלא הוא והות דועתה איכ שׁלתא דדמא ונפל על ארעא |
| [45]And he rose up from prayer, and came to his disciples, and found them sleeping for heaviness. |
[45]וקמ מנ צלותה ואתא לות תלמידוהי ואשׁכח אנונ כד דמכינ מנ עקתא |
| [46]And he said unto them, Why sleep ye? Rise and pray, least ye enter into temptation. |
[46]ואמר להונ מנא דמכינ אנתונ קומו וצלו דלא תעלונ לנסיונא |
| [47] And while he yet spake, behold a company, and he that was called Judas one of the twelve, went before them, and came near unto Jesus to kiss him. |
[47]ועד הו ממלל הא כנשׁא והו דמתקרא יהודא חד מנ תרעסר אתא קדמיהונ וקרב לות ישׁוע ונשׁקה הדא גיר אתא יהב הוא להונ דאינא דנשׁק אנא הויו |
| [48]And Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss? |
[48]אמר לה ישׁוע יהודא בנושׁקתא משׁלמ אנת לה לברה דאנשׁא |
| [49]Now when they which were about him, saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with sword? |
[49]כד חזו דינ אילינ דעמה מדמ דהוא אמרינ לה מרנ נמחא אנונ בסיפא |
| [50]And one of them smote a servant of the high Priest, and struck off his right ear. |
[50]ומחא חד מנהונ לעבדה דרב כהנא ונסבה אדנה דימינא |
| [51]Then Jesus answered, and said, Suffer them thus far: and he touched his ear, and healed him. |
[51]ענא דינ ישׁוע ואמר כדו עדמא להדא וקרב לאדנה דהו דבלע ואסיה |
| [52]Then Jesus said unto the high Priests, and captains of the Temple, and the Elders which were come to him, Be ye come out as unto a thief with swords and staves? |
[52]ואמר ישׁוע להנונ דאתו עלוהי רבי כהנא וקשׁישׁא ורבי חילא דהיכלא איכ דעל לסטיא נפקתונ עלי בסיפא ובחוטרא דתאחדונני |
| [53]When I was daily with you in the Temple, ye stretched not forth the hands against me: but this is your very hour, and the power of darkness. |
[53]כליומ עמכונ הוית בהיכלא ולא אושׁטתונ עלי אידיא אלא הדא הי שׁעתכונ ושׁולטנא דחשׁוכא |
| [54] Then took they him, and led him, and brought him to the high Priest's house. And Peter followed afar off. |
[54]ואחדו איתיוהי לביתה דרב כהנא ושׁמעונ אתא הוא בתרה מנ רוחקא |
| [55]And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter also sat down among them. |
[55]אוחדו דינ נורא מצעת דרתא ויתבינ הוו חדריה ויתב הוא אפ הו שׁמעונ בינתהונ |
| [56]And a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and having well looked on him, said, This man was also with him. |
[56]וחזתה עלימתא חדא דיתב לות נורא וחרת בה ואמרא אפ הנא עמה הוא |
| [57]But he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not. |
[57]הו דינ כפר ואמר אנתתא לא ידע אנא לה |
| [58]And after a little while, another man saw him, and said, Thou art also of them. But Peter said, Man, I am not. |
[58]ובתר קליל חזיהי אחרנא ואמר לה אפ אנת מנהונ אנת כאפא דינ אמר לא הוית |
| [59]And about the space of an hour after a certain other affirmed, saying, Verily even this man was with him: for he is also a Galilean. |
[59]ובתר שׁעא חדא אחרנא מתחרא הוא ואמר שׁריראית אפ הנא עמה הוא אפ גליליא הו גיר |
| [60]And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately while he yet spake, the cock crew. |
[60]אמר כאפא גברא לא ידע אנא מנא אמר אנת ומחדא כד הו ממלל קרא תרנגלא |
| [61]Then the Lord turned back, and looked upon Peter: and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. |
[61]ואתפני ישׁוע וחר בכאפא ואתדכר שׁמעונ מלתה דמרנ דאמר הוא לה דקדמ דנקרא תרנגלא תכפור בי תלת זבנינ |
| [62]And Peter went out, and wept bitterly. |
[62]ונפק לבר שׁמעונ בכא מריראית |
| [63] And the men that held Jesus, mocked him, and struck him. |
[63]וגברא דאחידינ הוו לישׁוע מבזחינ הוו בה ומחפינ הוו לה |
| [64]And when they had blindfolded him, they smote him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy who it is that smote thee. |
[64]ומחינ הוו לה על אפוהי ואמרינ אתנבא מנו מחכ |
| [65]And many other things blasphemously spake they against him. |
[65]ואחרניתא סגיאתא מגדפינ הוו ואמרינ עלוהי |
| [66]And as soon as it was day, the Elders of the people, and the high Priests and the Scribes came together, and led him into their Council, |
[66]וכד נגהת אתכנשׁו קשׁישׁא ורבי כהנא וספרא ואסקוהי לבית כנושׁתהונ |
| [67]Saying, Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe it. |
[67]ואמרינ לה אנ אנת הו משׁיחא אמר לנ אמר להונ אנ אמר לכונ לא תהימנונני |
| [68]And if also I ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go. |
[68]ואנ אשׁאלכונ לא מפנינ אנתונ לי פתגמא או שׁרינ אנתונ לי |
| [69]Hereafter shall the Son of man sit at the right hand of the power of God. |
[69]מנ השׁא נהוא ברה דאנשׁא יתב מנ ימינא דחילא דאלהא |
| [70]Then said they all, art thou then the Son of God? And he said to them, ye say that I am. |
[70]אמרינ דינ כלהונ אנת הו הכיל ברה דאלהא אמר להונ ישׁוע אנתונ אמרינ אנתונ דאנא אנא |
| [71]Then said they, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard it of his own mouth. |
[71]אמרינ מנא תוב מתבעינ לנ סהדא חננ גיר שׁמענ מנ פומה |
