| [1]ηγγιζεν δε η εορτη των αζυμων η λεγομενη πασχα ARAM |
[1]NOW the feast of unleavened bread, which is called the passover, was at hand. |
| [2]και εζητουν οι αρχιερεις και οι γραμματεις το πως-I ανελωσιν αυτον εφοβουντο γαρ τον λαον |
[2]And the high priests and the scribes sought how to kill him; but they were afraid of the people. |
| [3]εισηλθεν δε σατανας εις ιουδαν τον καλουμενον ισκαριωτην οντα εκ του αριθμου των δωδεκα |
[3]But Satan had taken possession of Judas who is called of Iscariot, who was of the number of the twelve. |
| [4]και απελθων συνελαλησεν τοις αρχιερευσιν και στρατηγοις το πως-I αυτοις παραδω αυτον |
[4]So he went away, and spoke with the high priests and the scribes and officers of the temple, about delivering him to them. |
| [5]και εχαρησαν και συνεθεντο αυτω αργυριον δουναι |
[5]And they were glad and promised to give him money. |
| [6]και εξωμολογησεν και εζητει ευκαιριαν του παραδουναι αυτον ατερ οχλου αυτοις |
[6]And he agreed with them, and sought an opportunity to deliver him to them in the absence of the people. |
| [7]ηλθεν δε η ημερα των αζυμων [εν] η εδει θυεσθαι το πασχα ARAM |
[7]Then the day of unleavened bread came, on which it was the custom to kill the passover lamb. |
| [8]και απεστειλεν πετρον και ιωαννην ειπων πορευθεντες ετοιμασατε ημιν το πασχα ινα φαγωμεν |
[8]So Jesus sent Peter and John, and said to them, Go and prepare the passover for us to eat. |
| [9]οι δε ειπαν αυτω που θελεις ετοιμασωμεν |
[9]They said to him, Where do you wish us to prepare? |
| [10]ο δε ειπεν αυτοις ιδου εισελθοντων υμων εις την πολιν συναντησει υμιν ανθρωπος κεραμιον υδατος βασταζων ακολουθησατε αυτω εις την οικιαν εις ην εισπορευεται |
[10]He said to them, Behold, when you enter the city, you will meet a man carrying a skin full of water; follow him. And wherever he enters, |
| [11]και ερειτε τω οικοδεσποτη της οικιας λεγει σοι ο διδασκαλος που εστιν το καταλυμα οπου το πασχα μετα των μαθητων μου φαγω |
[11]Say to the master of the house, Our Teacher says, Where is the guest room, where I may eat the passover with my disciples? |
| [12]κακεινος υμιν δειξει αναγαιον μεγα εστρωμενον εκει ετοιμασατε |
[12]And behold, he will show you an upper room, large and furnished; there make ready. |
| [13]απελθοντες δε ευρον καθως ειρηκει αυτοις και ητοιμασαν το πασχα ARAM |
[13]And they went and found just as he had said to them; and they prepared the passover. |
| [14]και οτε εγενετο η ωρα ανεπεσεν και οι αποστολοι συν αυτω |
[14]And when the time came, Jesus came and sat down, and the twelve apostles with him. |
| [15]και ειπεν προς αυτους επιθυμια επεθυμησα τουτο το πασχα φαγειν μεθ υμων προ του με παθειν |
[15]And he said to them, I have desired with desire to eat this passover with you before I suffer; |
| [16]λεγω γαρ υμιν οτι ου μη φαγω αυτο εως οτου πληρωθη εν τη βασιλεια του θεου |
[16]For I say to you, that henceforth, I will not eat it, until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God. |
| [17]και δεξαμενος ποτηριον ευχαριστησας ειπεν λαβετε τουτο και διαμερισατε εις εαυτους |
[17]And he took the cup and gave thanks and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves. |
| [18]λεγω γαρ υμιν [οτι] ου μη πιω απο του νυν απο του γενηματος της αμπελου εως ου η βασιλεια του θεου ελθη |
[18]For I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes. |
| [19]και λαβων αρτον ευχαριστησας εκλασεν και εδωκεν αυτοις λεγων τουτο εστιν το σωμα μου [[το το υπερ υμων διδομενον τουτο ποιειτε εις την εμην αναμνησιν |
[19]And he took bread and gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them and said, This is my body, which is given for your sake; this do in remembrance of me. |
| [20]και το ποτηριον ωσαυτως μετα το δειπνησαι λεγων τουτο το ποτηριον η καινη διαθηκη εν τω αιματι μου το υπερ υμων εκχυννομενον]] εκχυννομενον |
[20]And likewise also the cup, after they had eaten the supper, he said, This is the cup of the new covenant in my blood, which is shed for you. |
| [21]πλην ιδου η χειρ του παραδιδοντος με μετ εμου επι της τραπεζης |
[21]But behold, the hand of him who is to betray me is on the table. |
| [22]οτι ο υιος μεν του ανθρωπου κατα το ωρισμενον πορευεται πλην ουαι τω ανθρωπω εκεινω δι ου παραδιδοται |
[22]And the Son of man will go, just as he has been destined; but woe to the man by whose hand he will be betrayed! |
| [23]και αυτοι ηρξαντο συζητειν προς εαυτους το τις αρα ειη εξ αυτων ο τουτο μελλων πρασσειν |
[23]And they began to enquire among themselves, which one of them was to do this act. |
| [24]εγενετο δε και φιλονεικια εν αυτοις το τις αυτων δοκει ειναι μειζων |
[24]There was also a dispute among them, as to who is the greatest among them. |
| [25]ο δε ειπεν αυτοις οι βασιλεις των εθνων κυριευουσιν αυτων και οι εξουσιαζοντες αυτων ευεργεται καλουνται |
[25]Jesus said to them, The kings of the Gentiles are also their owners; and those who rule over them are called benefactors. |
| [26]υμεις δε ουχ ουτως αλλ ο μειζων εν υμιν γινεσθω ως ο νεωτερος και ο ηγουμενος ως ο διακονων |
[26]But not so with you; but he who is great among you, let him be the least, and he who is a leader be like a minister. |
| [27]τις γαρ μειζων ο ανακειμενος η ο διακονων ουχι ο ανακειμενος εγω δε εν μεσω υμων ειμι ως ο διακονων |
[27]For who is greater, he who sits down or he who serves? Is it not he who sits down? but I am among you as one who serves. |
| [28]υμεις δε εστε οι διαμεμενηκοτες μετ εμου εν τοις πειρασμοις μου |
[28]You are those who have remained with me, throughout my trials. |
| [29]καγω διατιθεμαι υμιν καθως διεθετο μοι ο πατηρ μου βασιλειαν |
[29]And I promise you, just as my Father has promised me, a kingdom, |
| [30]ινα εσθητε και πινητε επι της τραπεζης μου εν τη βασιλεια μου και καθησθε καθησεσθε επι θρονων τας δωδεκα φυλας κρινοντες του ισραηλ |
[30]That you may eat and drink at the table in my kingdom; and you will sit on chairs, and judge the twelve tribes of Israel. |
| [31]σιμων σιμων ιδου ο σατανας εξητησατο υμας του σινιασαι ως τον σιτον |
[31]And Jesus said to Simon, Simon, behold Satan wants to sift all of you as wheat; |
| [32]εγω δε εδεηθην περι σου ινα μη εκλιπη η πιστις σου και συ ποτε επιστρεψας στηρισον τους αδελφους σου |
[32]But I have made supplication for you that your faith may not weaken; and even you in time will repent, and strengthen your brethren. |
| [33]ο δε ειπεν αυτω κυριε μετα σου ετοιμος ειμι και εις φυλακην και εις θανατον πορευεσθαι |
[33]Simon said to him, My Lord, I am ready with you, even for the prison and for death. |
| [34]ο δε ειπεν λεγω σοι πετρε ου φωνησει σημερον αλεκτωρ εως τρις με απαρνηση ειδεναι |
[34]Jesus said to him, I say to you, Simon, the cock will not crow today, until you have denied three times that you know me. |
| [35]και ειπεν αυτοις οτε απεστειλα υμας ατερ βαλλαντιου και πηρας και υποδηματων μη τινος υστερησατε οι δε ειπαν ουθενος |
[35]And he said to them, When I sent you out without purses, and without bags, and shoes, did you lack anything? They said to him, Not a thing. |
| [36]ειπεν δε αυτοις αλλα νυν ο εχων βαλλαντιον αρατω ομοιως και πηραν και ο μη εχων πωλησατω το ιματιον αυτου και αγορασατω μαχαιραν |
[36]He said to them, From now on he who has purses, let him take them, and the bag likewise; and he who has no sword, let him sell his robe and buy for himself a sword. |
| [37]λεγω γαρ υμιν οτι τουτο το γεγραμμενον δει τελεσθηναι εν εμοι το και μετα ανομων ελογισθη και γαρ το περι εμου τελος εχει |
[37]For I say to you, that this which is written must be fulfilled in me, He will be numbered among the wicked; for all the things concerning me will be fulfilled. |
| [38]οι δε ειπαν κυριε ιδου μαχαιραι ωδε δυο ο δε ειπεν αυτοις ικανον εστιν |
[38]And they said to him, Our Lord, behold here are two swords. He said to them, That is enough. |
| [39]και εξελθων επορευθη κατα το εθος εις το ορος των ελαιων ηκολουθησαν δε αυτω [και] και οι μαθηται |
[39]And he went out and went away, as it was his custom, to the Mount of the Home of Olives; and his disciples also followed him. |
| [40]γενομενος δε επι του τοπου ειπεν αυτοις προσευχεσθε μη εισελθειν εις πειρασμον |
[40]And when he arrived at a place, he said to them, Pray that you may not enter into temptation. |
| [41]και αυτος απεσπασθη απ αυτων ωσει λιθου βολην και θεις τα γονατα προσηυχετο |
[41]And he separated from them, about the distance of a stone's throw, and he kneeled down, and prayed, |
| [42]λεγων πατερ ει βουλει παρενεγκε τουτο το ποτηριον απ εμου πλην μη το θελημα μου αλλα το σον γινεσθω |
[42]Saying, O Father, if you will, let this cup pass from me; but not as I will, but your will be done. |
| [43][[ωφθη δε αυτω αγγελος απο του απ ουρανου ενισχυων αυτον |
[43]And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, to strengthen him. |
| [44]και γενομενος εν αγωνια εκτενεστερον προσηυχετο και εγενετο ο ιδρως αυτου ωσει θρομβοι αιματος καταβαινοντες επι την γην]] |
[44]And he was in fear, and prayed earnestly; and his sweat became like drops of blood; and he fell down upon the ground. |
| [45]και αναστας απο της προσευχης ελθων προς τους μαθητας ευρεν κοιμωμενους αυτους απο της λυπης |
[45]Then he rose up from his prayer, and came to his disciples, and found them sleeping because of distress. |
| [46]και ειπεν αυτοις τι καθευδετε ανασταντες προσευχεσθε ινα μη εισελθητε εις πειρασμον |
[46]And he said to them, Why do you sleep? rise and pray that you may not enter into temptation. |
| [47]ετι αυτου λαλουντος ιδου οχλος και ο λεγομενος ιουδας εις των δωδεκα προηρχετο αυτους και ηγγισεν τω ιησου φιλησαι αυτον |
[47]While he was still speaking, behold, a multitude, and he who is called Judas, one of the twelve, coming before them; and he drew near to Jesus and kissed him. For this was the sign he had given them, He whom I kiss, it is he. |
| [48]ιησους δε ειπεν αυτω ιουδα φιληματι τον υιον του ανθρωπου παραδιδως |
[48]Jesus said to him, Judas, do you betray the Son of man with a kiss? |
| [49]ιδοντες δε οι περι αυτον το εσομενον ειπαν κυριε ει παταξομεν εν μαχαιρη |
[49]When those who were with him saw what happened, they said to him, Our Lord, shall we smite them with swords? |
| [50]και επαταξεν εις τις εξ αυτων του αρχιερεως τον δουλον και αφειλεν το ους αυτου το δεξιον |
[50]And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear. |
| [51]αποκριθεις δε [ο] ο ιησους ειπεν εατε εως τουτου και αψαμενος του ωτιου ιασατο αυτον |
[51]But Jesus answered and said, It is enough for the present. And he touched the ear of him who was wounded, and healed it. |
| [52]ειπεν δε ιησους προς τους παραγενομενους επ αυτον αρχιερεις και στρατηγους του ιερου και πρεσβυτερους ως επι ληστην εξηλθατε μετα μαχαιρων και ξυλων |
[52]And Jesus said to the high priests and the elders and the officers of the temple, who had come against him, Have you come out against me to arrest me with swords and staves, as if you were against a bandit? |
| [53]καθ ημεραν οντος μου μεθ υμων εν τω ιερω ουκ εξετεινατε τας χειρας επ εμε αλλ αυτη εστιν υμων η ωρα και η εξουσια του σκοτους |
[53]I was with you every day in the temple, and you did not even point your hands at me; but this is your turn, and the power of darkness. |
| [54]συλλαβοντες δε αυτον ηγαγον και εισηγαγον εις την οικιαν του αρχιερεως ο δε πετρος ηκολουθει μακροθεν |
[54]And they arrested him, and brought him to the house of the high priest. And Simon followed him afar off. |
| [55]περιαψαντων δε πυρ εν μεσω της αυλης και συγκαθισαντων εκαθητο ο πετρος μεσος αυτων |
[55]And they kindled a fire in the midst of the courtyard, and they sat around it; and Simon also sat among them. |
| [56]ιδουσα δε αυτον παιδισκη τις καθημενον προς το φως και ατενισασα αυτω ειπεν και ουτος συν αυτω ην |
[56]And a young woman saw him sitting by the fire, and she looked at him and said, This man also was with him. |
| [57]ο δε ηρνησατο λεγων ουκ οιδα αυτον γυναι |
[57]But he denied, and said, Woman, I do not know him. |
| [58]και μετα βραχυ ετερος ιδων αυτον εφη και συ εξ αυτων ει ο δε πετρος εφη ανθρωπε ουκ ειμι |
[58]And after a little while, another saw him, and said to him, You also are one of them. But Peter said, I am not. |
| [59]και διαστασης ωσει ωρας μιας αλλος τις διισχυριζετο λεγων επ αληθειας και ουτος μετ αυτου ην και γαρ γαλιλαιος εστιν |
[59]And after an hour, another one argued and said, Truly, this man also was with him; for he is also a Galilean. |
| [60]ειπεν δε ο πετρος ανθρωπε ουκ οιδα ο λεγεις και παραχρημα ετι λαλουντος αυτου εφωνησεν αλεκτωρ |
[60]Peter said, Man, I do not know what you are saying. And immediately while he was still speaking, the cock crew. |
| [61]και στραφεις ο κυριος ενεβλεψεν τω πετρω και υπεμνησθη ο πετρος του ρηματος του κυριου ως ειπεν αυτω οτι πριν αλεκτορα φωνησαι σημερον απαρνηση με τρις |
[61]And Jesus turned and looked at Peter. And Simon remembered the word of our Lord, that he said to him, Before the cock crows you will deny me three times. |
| [62][και και εξελθων εξω εκλαυσεν πικρως] πικρως |
[62]And Simon went outside and wept bitterly. |
| [63]και οι ανδρες οι συνεχοντες αυτον ενεπαιζον αυτω δεροντες |
[63]And the men who held Jesus mocked him, |
| [64]και περικαλυψαντες αυτον επηρωτων λεγοντες προφητευσον τις εστιν ο παισας σε |
[64]And they covered his head, and smote him on his face, saying, Prophesy, who has struck you. |
| [65]και ετερα πολλα βλασφημουντες ελεγον εις αυτον |
[65]And many other things they blasphemed and said against him. |
| [66]και ως εγενετο ημερα συνηχθη το πρεσβυτεριον του λαου αρχιερεις τε και γραμματεις και απηγαγον αυτον εις το συνεδριον αυτων λεγοντες |
[66]As soon as it was daybreak, the elders and the high priests and the scribes gathered together, and brought him up to their council chamber. |
| [67]ει συ ει ο χριστος ειπον ημιν ειπεν δε αυτοις εαν υμιν ειπω ου μη πιστευσητε |
[67]And they said to him, If you are the Christ, tell us. He said to them, If I tell you, you will not believe me. |
| [68]εαν δε ερωτησω ου μη αποκριθητε |
[68]And if I ask you, you will not answer me nor release me. |
| [69]απο του νυν δε εσται ο υιος του ανθρωπου καθημενος εκ δεξιων της δυναμεως του θεου |
[69]From henceforth the Son of man will sit at the right hand of the power of God. |
| [70]ειπαν δε παντες συ ουν ει ο υιος του θεου ο δε προς αυτους εφη υμεις λεγετε οτι εγω ειμι |
[70]And they all said, Are you then the Son of God? Jesus said to them, You say that I am. |
| [71]οι δε ειπαν τι ετι εχομεν μαρτυριας χρειαν αυτοι γαρ ηκουσαμεν απο του στοματος αυτου |
[71]And they said, Why then do we need witnesses? for we have heard it from his own mouth. |
