[4]And it was that while these wondered at this behold two men stood over them and shining was their clothing [4]And as they wondered at this, behold, two men stood opposite them; and their raiment was effulgent.
[5]And they were in fear and they bowed their faces to the ground and they were saying to them why? seeking are you The Life among the dead [5]And they were in fear, and bowed their faces to the ground. And the men said to them: Why seek ye the living among the dead?
[6]He is not here has risen He remember when He spoke with you as He was in Galilee [6]He is not here; he is risen. Remember how he conversed with you, when he was in Galilee,
[7]And said He going is The Son of Man to be delivered into the hands of men sinners and He shall be crucified and the third day He shall arise [7]and said, That the Son of man was to be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and to be crucified, and to rise on the third day.
[8]And these women remembered His words [8]And they remembered his words.
[9]And they returned from the tomb and they were saying these things all to the eleven and to the rest [9]And they returned from the sepulchre, and related all these things to the eleven, and to the rest.
[10]They were but Maryam Magdalitha and Yohanna and Maryam the mother of Yaqob and the rest who were with them these things who told had to the apostles [10]Now they were Mary Magdalena, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and the others with them, who related these things to the Legates.

[13]And behold two of them on that day going were to the village whose name is Emmaus and it is distant from Jerusalem furlongs sixty [13]And lo, two of them, on the same day, were going to a village named Emmaus, distant sixty furlongs from Jerusalem.
[14]And they speaking were one with another about these all things that had occurred [14]And they talked together of all that had occurred.
[15]And while they were talking and inquiring one with another came He Ieshu and He met them and walking He was with them [15]And as they conversed, and questioned each other, Jesus came, and drew near, and walked with them.
[16]And their eyes closed shut had been lest they would recognize Him [16]And their eyes were held, that they did not recognize him.
[17]And He said to them what? are matters these of which speaking you are one with another as walking you are and gloomy you are [17]And he said to them: What are these discourses, which ye hold with each other, as ye walk and are sad?
[18]Answered one of them whose name Qliopa and He said to Him You are? indeed by Yourself a foreigner to Jerusalem that not know You the thing that occurred in it in those days [18]And one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answered and said to him: Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, that thou knowest not the things that have occurred there in these days?
[19]He said to them what? they were saying to Him concerning Ieshu He was Who from Natsareth a Man Who was The Prophet and mighty He was in word and in deed before Alaha and before the whole nation [19]He said to them: What things? They say to him: In regard to Jesus of Nazareth, a man who was a prophet, and mighty in discourse and in action, before God, and before all the people.

[22]But also women among us stupefied us gone before they had for to the place of burial [22]And moreover, certain women of ours astonished us; for they went early to the sepulchre;
[23]And when not they found His body they came they were telling us that angels we saw there and they were saying about Him that alive He is [23]and as they did not find the body, they came and said to us: We saw angels there, and they said that he is alive.
[24]Also some of us went to the house of burial and they found thus according to what said the women Him but not they saw [24]And also some of us went to the sepulchre; and they found, as the women reported; but him they saw not.
[25]Then said to them Ieshu Oh! deficient minds and dull hearts to believe in all those things that spoke the prophets [25]Then Jesus said to them: O deficient in understanding, and slow of heart to believe all the things that the prophets uttered.
[26]Not? was these things necessary it that would endure The Messiah and that He enter His glory [26]Were not these things to be; that the Messiah should suffer and that he should enter into his glory?
[27]And began He from Moshe and from all of The Prophets and expounded He to them about Himself from all of the scriptures [27]Then he began from Moses, and from all the prophets, and expounded to them concerning himself from all the scriptures.
[28]And arrived they at village that going they were to which and He announcing was to them how to a place distant going He was [28]And they drew near to the village to which they were going; and he made them feel, as if he would go to a more distant place.
[29]And they constrained Him and they were saying to Him stay with us because the day now is declining it to become dark and He entered to stay with them [29]And they urged him, and said to him: Tarry with us, for the day inclineth towards dark. And he went in to remain with them.
[30]And it happened that when He reclined with them He took bread and He blessed and He broke and He gave to them [30]And it occurred, while he reclined with them, that he took bread, and blessed, and brake, and gave to them.
[31]And at once were opened their eyes and they recognized Him and He ascended Himself from them [31]And instantly, their eyes were opened, and, they knew him. And he took himself from them.
[32]And saying they were one to another not? was our heart stupid it within us when He was speaking with us on the road and He expounded to us the scriptures [32]And they said one to another: Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and explained to us the scriptures?]
[33]And they arose in that hour and they returned to Jerusalem and they found the eleven who were assembled and those who were with them [33]And they arose, the same hour, and returned: to Jerusalem. And they found the eleven assembled, and those with them,
[34]When they were saying truly has risen our Lord and He has appeared to Shimeon [34]who were saying: Certainly, our Lord hath risen; and he hath appeared to Simon.
[35]Also they related those things that occurred on the road and how He was known to them when He broke the bread [35]And they also related what occurred by the way, and how he became known to them, when he broke bread.
[36]And when these things speaking they were Ieshu stood in their midst and He said to them peace with you I I not be afraid [36]And while they were talking of these things, Jesus stood in the midst of them, and said to them: Peace be with you! It is I; be not afraid.
[37]And they were alarmed and they were in fear thinking they were for that a spirit they were seeing [37]And they were in trepidation and fear, for they supposed they saw a spirit.
[38]And said to them Ieshu why? are shaken you and why? arise imaginations in your hearts [38]Jesus said to them: Why are ye agitated? And why do imaginations arise in your hearts?
[39]See My hands and My feet that It is I touch Me and know that a spirit flesh and bones has not to it as see you that there are to Me [39]Look at my hands and my feet, that it is myself. Handle me, and know; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
[40]And when these things He had said He showed them His hands and His feet [40]And as he said thus, he showed them his hands and his feet.
[41]And as until this moment not believing they were from their joy and astonished they were He said to them is? with you here anything to eat [41]And while they still believed not, for their joy, and were astonished; he said to them: Have ye here any thing to eat?

[45]Then he opened their mind to understand the scriptures [45]Then he opened their mind to understand the scriptures.
[46]And He said to them thus it is written and thus righteous it was to suffer for The Messiah and to arise from among the dead the third day [46]And he said to them: Thus it is written, and thus it was right for Messiah to suffer, and rise from the dead on the third day;
[47]And that would be preached in His Name a repentance for the forgiveness of sins in all of the nations and the beginning would be at Jerusalem [47]and that, in his name, repentance for the remission of sins should be preached among all nations, and that the commencement be at Jerusalem.
[48]And you are witnesses of these things [48]And ye are the witnesses of these things.
[49]And I shall send upon you the promise of My Father you but stay in Jerusalem the city until you shall be clothed in power from on high [49]And I will send upon you the promise of my Father. But remain ye at Jerusalem until ye shall be clothed with energy from on high.
[50]And He brought them unto BaythAnya and He lifted His hands and He blessed them [50]And he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifted his hands, and blessed them.
[51]And it was that as He blessed them He was separated from them and He ascended to Heaven [51]And it occurred, while he blessed them, that he was separated from them, and ascended to heaven.
