[1]And whe the Sabboth day was past, Marie Magdalen and Marie [the mother] of Iames, & Salome, bought sweete smellynge oyntmentes, that they myght come and annoynt hym [1]And when the sabbath had passed, Mary Magdalena, and Mary [the mother] of James, and Salome, bought aromatics, that they might come and anoint him.
[2]And early in the mornyng, the first day of the Sabbothes, they came vnto the sepulchre, when the sunne was rysen [2]And in the morning of the first day of the week, they came to the sepulchre as the sun arose.
[3]And they sayde among them selues, who shall roule vs away the stone from the doore of the sepulchre [3]And they said among them. selves: Who will roll back for us the stone from the door of the sepulchre?
[4]And when they loked, they sawe how that the stone was rouled awaye, for it was a very great one [4]And they looked, and saw that the stone was rolled away; for it was very great.
[5]And they went into the sepulchre, and sawe a young man syttyng on the ryght syde, clothed in a long whyte garment, and they were amased [5]And entering the sepulchre, they saw a youth sitting on the right hand, and clothed in a white robe: and they were in perturbation.
[6]And he sayth vnto them, be not amased: ye seke Iesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: He is risen, he is not here, beholde the place where they had put hym [6]But he said to them: Be not affrighted. Ye are seeking Jesus the Nazarean, who was crucified. He is risen; he is not here. Behold the place where he was laid.
[7]But go your way, & tell his disciples, and Peter, that he goeth before you into Galilee, there shall ye see hym, as he saide vnto you [7]But go, tell his disciples and Cephas: Lo, he precedeth you into Galilee; there will ye see him, as he said to you.
[8]And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre, for they trembled & were amased: neither sayde they any thing to any man, for they were afraide [8]And when they heard, they fled and left the sepulchre; for astonishment and trembling had seized them; and they said nothing to any one, for they were in fear.
[9]When [Iesus] was rysen early, the first [day] after the Sabboth, he appeared firste to Marie Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seuen deuils [9]And in the morning of the first day of the week, he arose; and he appeared first to Mary Magdalena, from whom he had cast out seven demons.
[10]And she went & tolde them that were with hym, as they mourned & wept [10]And she went and told them that had been with him, while they were mourning and weeping.
[11]And they, when they hearde that he was alyue, and had ben seene of her, beleued it not [11]And they, when they heard [the women] say that he was alive, and that he had appeared to them, did not believe them.
[12]After that, appeared he vnto two of them in another fourme, as they walked and went into the countrey [12]After this he appeared, under another aspect, to two of them as they walked and went into the country.
[13]And they went and tolde it vnto the residue: and [they] beleued not these also [13]And these went and told the rest; but they would not believe them
[14]Afterwarde, he appeared vnto the eleuen, as they sate at meate, and cast in their teeth their vnbeliefe and hardnes of heart, because they beleued not them whiche had seene that he was rysen agayne from the dead [14]And at last, he appeared to the eleven: as they reclined at table; and he reproved the slenderness of their faith, and the hardness of their heart; because they believed not those who had seen him actually risen.
[15]And he sayde vnto them: Go ye into all the worlde, and preache the Gospell to all creatures [15]And he said to them: Go ye into all the world, and proclaim my tidings in the whole creation.
[16]He that beleueth, and is baptized, shalbe saued: But he that beleueth not, shalbe dampned [16]He that believeth, and is baptized, liveth; but he that believeth not, is condemned.
[17]And these tokens shall folowe them that beleue. In my name they shal cast out deuils, they shall speake with newe tongues [17]And these signs shall attend them that believe: In my name, they will cast out demons; and in new tongues will they speak.
[18]They shall driue away serpentes: and yf they drinke any deadly thyng, it shall not hurte them: They shall lay their handes on the sicke, & they shal recouer [18]And they will take up serpents; and if they should drink a deadly poison, it will not harm them; and they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.
[19]So then, when the Lorde had spoken vnto them, he was receaued into heauen, and sate hym downe on the ryght hande of God [19]And Jesus, our Lord, after he had conversed with them, ascended to heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
[20]And they went foorth, and preached euerywhere, the Lorde workyng with them, and confirmyng the worde with signes folowyng [20]And they went forth, and preached everywhere: and our Lord aided them, and confirmed their discourses by the signs which they wrought.Completion of the Holy Gospels, the announcement of Mark; which he uttered and proclaimed in Latin at Rome.
