| [1]ואמר הוא להונ אמינ אמר אנא לכונ דאית אנשׁא דקימינ תננ דלא נטעמונ מותא עדמא דנחזונ מלכותה דאלהא דאתת בחילא |
[1]And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, that there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the Kingdom of God come with power. |
| [2]ובתר שׁתא יומינ דבר ישׁוע לכאפא וליעקוב וליוחננ ואסק אנונ לטורא רמא בלחודיהונ ואשׁתחלפ לעניהונ |
[2]And six days after Jesus took Peter, and James, and John, and brought them up into an high mountain out of the way alone, and he was transfigured before them. |
| [3]ומזהר הוא לבושׁה ומחור טב איכ תלגא איכנא דבנינשׁא למחורו בארעא לא משׁכחינ |
[3]And his raiment did shine, and was very white, as snow, so white as no fuller can make upon the earth. |
| [4]ואתחזיו להונ אליא ומושׁא כד ממללינ עמ ישׁוע |
[4]And there appeared unto them Elijah with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus. |
| [5]ואמר לה כאפא רבי שׁפיר הו לנ דהרכא נהוא ונעבד תלת מטללינ לכ חדא ולמושׁא חדא ולאליא חדא |
[5]Then Peter answered, and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: let us make also three tabernacles, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah. |
| [6]לא דינ ידע הוא מנא אמר איתיהונ הוו גיר בדחלתא |
[6]Yet he knew not what he said: for they were afraid. |
| [7]והות עננא ומטלא הות עליהונ וקלא מנ עננא אמר הנו ברי חביבא לה שׁמעו |
[7]And there was a cloud that shadowed them, and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him. |
| [8]ומנ שׁליא כד חרו תלמידא לאנשׁ לא חזו אלא אנ לישׁוע בלחודוהי עמהונ |
[8]And suddenly they looked round about, and saw no more any man save Jesus only with them. |
| [9]וכד נחתינ מנ טורא מפקד הוא להונ דלאנשׁ לא נאמרונ מדמ דחזו אלא אנ מא דקמ ברה דאנשׁא מנ מיתא |
[9]And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what they had seen save when the Son of man were risen from the dead again. |
| [10]ואחדוה למלתא בנפשׁהונ ובעינ הוו דמנא הי הדא מלתא דמא דקמ מנ בית מיתא |
[10]So they kept that matter to themselves, and demanded one of another, what the rising from the dead again should mean? |
| [11]ומשׁאלינ הוו לה ואמרינ מנא הכיל אמרינ ספרא דאליא ולא דנאתא לוקדמ |
[11]Also they asked him, saying, Why say the Scribes, that Elijah must first come? |
| [12]אמר להונ אליא אתא לוקדמ דכל מדמ נתקנ ואיכנא כתיב על ברה דאנשׁא דסגי נחשׁ ונסתלא |
[12]And he answered, and said unto them, Elijah verily shall first come and restore all things: and as it is written of the Son of man, he must suffer many things, and be set at naught. |
| [13]אלא אמר אנא לכונ דאפ אליא אתא ועבדו בה כל מא דצבו איכנא דכתיב עלוהי |
[13]But I say unto you, that Elijah is come, (and they have done unto him whatsoever they would) as it is written of him. |
| [14]וכד אתא לות תלמידוהי חזא לותהונ כנשׁא סגיאא וספרא כד דרשׁינ עמהונ |
[14]And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the Scribes disputing with them. |
| [15]ובר שׁעתה כלה כנשׁא חזאוהי ותוהו ורהטו שׁאלו בשׁלמה |
[15]And straightway all the people, when they beheld him, were amazed, and ran to him, and saluted him. |
| [16]ומשׁאל הוא לספרא מנא דרשׁינ אנתונ עמהונ |
[16]Then he asked the Scribes, What dispute you among yourselves? |
| [17]וענא חד מנ כנשׁא ואמר מלפנא איתית ברי לותכ דאית לה רוחא דלא ממללא |
[17]And one of the company answered, and said, Master, I have brought my son unto thee, which hath a dumb spirit: |
| [18]ואיכא דמדרכא לה חבטא לה ומרעת ומחרק שׁנוהי ויבשׁ ואמרת לתלמידיכ דנפקוניהי ולא אשׁכחו |
[18]And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him, and he foameth, and gnasheth his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples, that they should cast him out, and they could not. |
| [19]ענא ישׁוע ואמר לה אונ שׁרבתא דלא מהימנא עדמא לאמתי אהוא עמכונ ועדמא לאמתי אסיברכונ איתאוהי לותי |
[19]Then he answered him, and said, O faithless generation, how long now shall I be with you! how long now shall I suffer you! Bring him unto me. |
| [20]ואיתיוהי לותה וכד חזתה רוחא בר שׁעתה חבטתה ונפל על ארעא ומתבעק הוא ומרעת |
[20]So they brought him unto him: and as soon as the spirit saw him, he tare him, and he fell down on the ground, wallowing and foaming. |
| [21]ושׁאל ישׁוע לאבוהי דכמא לה זבנא הא מנ דהכנא הו אמר לה הא מנ טליותה |
[21]Then he asked his father, How long time is it since he hath been thus? And he said, Of a child. |
| [22]וזבנינ סגיאנ ארמיתה בנורא ובמיא דתובדיוהי אלא מדמ דמשׁכח אנת עדריני ואתרחמ עלי |
[22]And oft times he casteth him into the fire, and into the water to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, help us, and have compassion upon us. |
| [23]אמר לה ישׁוע אנ משׁכח אנת דתהימנ כל מדמ משׁכח דנהוא למנ דמהימנ |
[23]And Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe it, all things are possible to him that believeth. |
| [24]וברשׁעתה קעא אבוהי דטליא כד בכא ואמר מהימנ אנא עדר לחסירות הימנותי |
[24]And straightway the father of the child crying with tears, said, Lord, I believe: help my unbelief. |
| [25]כד חזא דינ ישׁוע דרהט עמא ומתכנשׁ לותה כאא בהי רוחא טנפתא ואמר לה רוחא חרשׁתא דלא ממללא אנא פקד אנא לכי פוקי מנה ותוב לא תעלינ לה |
[25]When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him. |
| [26]וקעא שׁאדא הו סגי ושׁחקה ונפק והוא איכ מיתא איכ דסגיאא נאמרונ דמית לה |
[26]Then the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out, and he was as one dead, in so much that many said, He is dead. |
| [27]הו דינ ישׁוע אחדה באידה ואקימה |
[27]But Jesus took his hand, and lift him up, and he rose. |
| [28]כד על דינ ישׁוע לביתא שׁאלוהי תלמידוהי בלחודיהונ למנא חננ לא אשׁכחנ למפקותה |
[28]And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him secretly, Why could not we cast him out? |
| [29]אמר להונ הנא גנסא במדמ לא משׁכח למפק אלא בצומא ובצלותא |
[29]And he said unto them, This kind can by no other means come forth, but by prayer, and fasting. |
| [30]וכד נפק מנ תמנ עברינ הוו בגלילא ולא צבא הוא דאנשׁ נדע בה |
[30]And they departed thence, and went through Galilee, and he would not that any should have known it. |
| [31]מלפ הוא גיר לתלמידוהי ואמר להונ דברה דאנשׁא משׁתלמ באידי בנינשׁא ונקטלוניהי ומא דאתקטל ביומא דתלתא נקומ |
[31]For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him, but after that he is killed, he shall rise again the third day. |
| [32]הנונ דינ לא ידעינ הוו לה למלתא ודחלינ הוו דנשׁאלוניהי |
[32]But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him. |
| [33]ואתו לכפרנחומ וכד עלו לביתא משׁאל הוא להונ דמנא מתחשׁבינ הויתונ באורחא בינתכונ |
[33]After, he came to Capernaum: and when he was in the house, he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among you by the way? |
| [34]הנונ דינ שׁתיקינ הוו אתחריו הוו גיר באורחא חד עמ חד דמנו רב בהונ |
[34]And they held their peace: for by the way they reasoned among themselves, who should be the chiefest. |
| [35]ויתב ישׁוע וקרא לתרעסר ואמר להונ מנ דצבא דנהוא קדמיא נהוא אחריא דכלנשׁ ומשׁמשׁנא דכל אנשׁ |
[35]And he sat down, and called the twelve, and said to them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant unto all. |
| [36]ונסב טליא חד ואקימה במצעתא ושׁקלה על דרעוהי ואמר להונ |
[36]And he took a little child and set him in the midst of them, and took him in his arms, and said unto them, |
| [37]כל מנ דנקבל איכ הנא טליא בשׁמי לי הו מקבל ומנ דלי מקבל לא הוא לי מקבל אלא למנ דשׁדרני |
[37]Whosoever shall receive one of such little children in my Name, receiveth me: and whosoever receiveth me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me. |
| [38]אמר לה יוחננ רבי חזינ אנשׁ דמפק שׁאדא בשׁמכ וכליניהי על דלא נקפ לנ |
[38]Then John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils by thy Name, which followeth not us, and we forbade him, because he followeth us not. |
| [39]אמר להונ ישׁוע לא תכלוניהי לית גיר אנשׁ דעבד חילא בשׁמי ומשׁכח עגל אמר עלי דבישׁ |
[39]But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man that can do a miracle by my Name, that can lightly speak evil of me. |
| [40]מנ דלא הוא הכיל לוקבלכונ חלפיכונ הו |
[40]For whosoever is not against us, is on our part. |
| [41]כל גיר דנשׁקיכונ כסא דמיא בלחוד בשׁמא דדמשׁיחא אנתונ אמינ אמר אנא לכונ דלא נאבד אגרה |
[41]And whosoever shall gave you a cup of water to drink for my Names sake, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward. |
| [42]וכל מנ דנכשׁל לחד מנ הלינ זעורא דמהימנינ בי פקח הוא לה אלו רמיא הות רחיא דחמרא בצורה ושׁדא בימא |
[42]And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones, that believe in me, it were better for him rather, that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were cast into the sea. |
| [43]אנ דינ מכשׁלא לכ אידכ פסוקיה פקח הו לכ פשׁיגא דתעול לחיא או כד אית לכ תרתינ אידינ תאזל לגהנא |
[43]Wherefore if thine hand cause thee to offend, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life, maimed, then having two hands, to go into hell into the fire that never shall be quenched, |
| [44]איכא דתולעהונ לא מיתא ונורהונ לא דעכא |
[44]Where their worm dieth not, and the fire never goeth out. |
| [45]ואנ רגלכ מכשׁלא לכ פסוקיה פקח הו לכ דתעול לחיא חגיסא או כד אית לכ תרתינ רגלינ תפל בגהנא |
[45]Likewise, if thy foot cause thee to offend, cut it off: it is better for thee to go halt into life, then having two feet to be cast into hell into the fire that never shall be quenched, |
| [46]איכא דתולעהונ לא מיתא ונורהונ לא דעכא |
[46]Where their worm dieth not, and the fire never goeth out. |
| [47]ואנ עינכ מכשׁלא לכ חציה פקח הו לכ דבחדא עינכ תעול למלכותה דאלהא או כד אית לכ תרתינ עינינ תפל בגהנא דנורא |
[47]And if thine eye cause thee to offend, pluck it out: it is better for thee to go into the Kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire, |
| [48]איכא דתולעהונ לא מיתא ונורהונ לא דעכא |
[48]Where their worm dieth not, and the fire never goeth out. |
| [49]כל גיר בנורא מתמלח וכל דבחתא במלחא תתמלח |
[49]For every man shall be salted with fire: and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt. |
| [50]שׁפיר הי מלחא אנ דינ מלחא תפכה במנא תתמלח תהוא בכונ מלחא ובשׁינא הוו חד עמ חד |
[50]Salt is good: but if the salt be unsavory, wherewith shall it be seasoned? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace, one with another. |
