[1]τοτε προσερχονται τω ιησου απο ιεροσολυμων φαρισαιοι και γραμματεις λεγοντες [1]Then came to Jesus the Scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
[2]δια τι οι μαθηται σου παραβαινουσιν την παραδοσιν των πρεσβυτερων ου γαρ νιπτονται τας χειρας [αυτων] οταν αρτον εσθιωσιν [2]Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the Elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
[3]ο δε αποκριθεις ειπεν αυτοις δια τι και υμεις παραβαινετε την εντολην του θεου δια την παραδοσιν υμων [3]But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
[4]ο γαρ θεος ειπεν τιμα τον πατερα και την μητερα και ο κακολογων πατερα η μητερα θανατω τελευτατω [4]For God hath commanded, saying, Honor thy father and mother: and he that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
[5]υμεις δε λεγετε ος αν ειπη τω πατρι η τη μητρι δωρον ο εαν εξ εμου ωφεληθης ου μη τιμησει τον πατερα αυτου [5]But ye say, Whosoever shall say to father or mother, By the gift that is offered by me, thou mayest have profit,
[6]και ηκυρωσατε τον λογον του θεου δια την παραδοσιν υμων [6]Though he honor not his father, or his mother, shall be free: thus have ye made the commandment of God of no authority by your tradition.
[7]υποκριται καλως επροφητευσεν περι υμων ησαιας λεγων [7]O hypocrites, Isaiah prophesied well of you, saying,
[8]ο λαος ουτος τοις χειλεσιν με τιμα η δε καρδια αυτων πορρω απεχει απ εμου [8]This people draweth near unto me with their mouth, and honoreth me with the lips, but their heart is far off from me.
[9]ματην δε σεβονται με διδασκοντες διδασκαλιας ενταλματα ανθρωπων [9]But in vain they worship me, teaching for doctrines, mens precepts.
[10]και προσκαλεσαμενος τον οχλον ειπεν αυτοις ακουετε και συνιετε [10]Then he called the multitude unto him, and said to them, Hear and understand.
[11]ου το εισερχομενον εις το στομα κοινοι τον ανθρωπον αλλα το εκπορευομενον εκ του στοματος τουτο κοινοι τον ανθρωπον [11]That which goeth into the mouth, defileth not the man, but that which cometh out of the mouth, that defileth the man.
[12]τοτε προσελθοντες οι μαθηται λεγουσιν αυτω οιδας οτι οι φαρισαιοι ακουσαντες τον λογον εσκανδαλισθησαν [12]Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Perceivest thou not, that the Pharisees are offended in hearing this saying?
[13]ο δε αποκριθεις ειπεν πασα φυτεια ην ουκ εφυτευσεν ο πατηρ μου ο ουρανιος εκριζωθησεται [13]But he answered and said, Every plant which mine heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.
[14]αφετε αυτους τυφλοι εισιν οδηγοι [τυφλων] τυφλος δε τυφλον εαν οδηγη αμφοτεροι εις βοθυνον πεσουνται [14]Let them alone, they be the blind leaders of the blind: and if the blind lead you blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
[15]αποκριθεις δε ο πετρος ειπεν αυτω φρασον ημιν την παραβολην [ταυτην] [15]Then answered Peter, and said to him, Declare unto us this parable.
[16]ο δε ειπεν ακμην και υμεις ασυνετοι εστε [16]Then said Jesus, Are ye yet without understanding?
[17]ου νοειτε οτι παν το εισπορευομενον εις το στομα εις την κοιλιαν χωρει και εις αφεδρωνα εκβαλλεται [17]Perceive ye not yet, that whatsoever entereth into the mouth, goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
[18]τα δε εκπορευομενα εκ του στοματος εκ της καρδιας εξερχεται κακεινα κοινοι τον ανθρωπον [18]But those things which proceed out of the mouth, come from the heart, and they defile the man.
[19]εκ γαρ της καρδιας εξερχονται διαλογισμοι πονηροι φονοι μοιχειαι πορνειαι κλοπαι ψευδομαρτυριαι βλασφημιαι [19]For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, slanders.
[20]ταυτα εστιν τα κοινουντα τον ανθρωπον το δε ανιπτοις χερσιν φαγειν ου κοινοι τον ανθρωπον [20]These are the things, which defile the man: but to eat with unwashen hands, defileth not the man.
[21]και εξελθων εκειθεν ο ιησους ανεχωρησεν εις τα μερη τυρου και σιδωνος [21]And Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.
[22]και ιδου γυνη χαναναια απο των οριων εκεινων εξελθουσα εκραζεν λεγουσα ελεησον με κυριε υιος δαυιδ η θυγατηρ μου κακως δαιμονιζεται [22]And behold, a woman a Canaanite came out of the same coasts, and cried, saying unto him, Have mercy on me, O Lord, the son of David: my daughter is miserably vexed with a devil.
[23]ο δε ουκ απεκριθη αυτη λογον και προσελθοντες οι μαθηται αυτου ηρωτουν αυτον λεγοντες απολυσον αυτην οτι κραζει οπισθεν ημων [23]But he answered her not a word. Then came to him his disciples, and besought him, saying, Send her away, for she cryeth after us.
[24]ο δε αποκριθεις ειπεν ουκ απεσταλην ει μη εις τα προβατα τα απολωλοτα οικου ισραηλ [24]But he answered, and said, I am not sent, but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
[25]η δε ελθουσα προσεκυνει αυτω λεγουσα κυριε βοηθει μοι [25]Yet she came and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
[26]ο δε αποκριθεις ειπεν ουκ εστιν καλον λαβειν τον αρτον των τεκνων και βαλειν τοις κυναριοις [26]And he answered, and said, It is not good to take the childrens bread, and to cast it to whelps.
[27]η δε ειπεν ναι κυριε και [γαρ] γαρ τα κυναρια εσθιει απο των ψιχιων των πιπτοντων απο της τραπεζης των κυριων αυτων [27]But she said, Truth, Lord: yet indeed the whelps eat of the crumbs, which fall from their master's table.
[28]τοτε αποκριθεις ο ιησους ειπεν αυτη ω γυναι μεγαλη σου η πιστις γενηθητω σοι ως θελεις και ιαθη η θυγατηρ αυτης απο της ωρας εκεινης [28]Then Jesus answered, and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it to thee, as thou desirest. And her daughter was made whole at that hour.
[29]και μεταβας εκειθεν ο ιησους ηλθεν παρα την θαλασσαν της γαλιλαιας και αναβας εις το ορος εκαθητο εκει [29]So Jesus went away from thence, and came near unto the sea of Galilee, and went up into a mountain and sat down there.
[30]και προσηλθον αυτω οχλοι πολλοι εχοντες μεθ εαυτων χωλους κυλλους τυφλους τυφλους κυλλους κωφους και ετερους πολλους και ερριψαν αυτους παρα τους ποδας αυτου και εθεραπευσεν αυτους [30]And great multitudes came unto him, having with them, halt, blind, dumb, maimed and many other, and cast them down at Jesus feet, and he healed them.
[31]ωστε τον οχλον θαυμασαι βλεποντας κωφους λαλουντας κυλλους υγιεις και χωλους περιπατουντας και τυφλους βλεποντας και εδοξασαν τον θεον ισραηλ [31]In so much that the multitude wondered, to see the dumb speak, the maimed whole, the halt to go, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.
[32]ο δε ιησους προσκαλεσαμενος τους μαθητας αυτου ειπεν σπλαγχνιζομαι επι τον οχλον οτι [ηδη] ηδη ημεραι τρεις προσμενουσιν μοι και ουκ εχουσιν τι φαγωσιν και απολυσαι αυτους νηστεις ου θελω μηποτε εκλυθωσιν εν τη οδω [32]Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on this multitude, because they have continued with me already three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not let them depart fasting, lest they faint in the way.
[33]και λεγουσιν αυτω οι μαθηται ποθεν-I ημιν εν ερημια αρτοι τοσουτοι ωστε χορτασαι οχλον τοσουτον [33]And his disciples said unto him, Whence should we get so much bread in the wilderness, as should suffice so great a multitude!
[34]και λεγει αυτοις ο ιησους ποσους αρτους εχετε οι δε ειπαν επτα και ολιγα ιχθυδια [34]And Jesus said unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes.
[35]και παραγγειλας τω οχλω αναπεσειν επι την γην [35]Then he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground,
[36]ελαβεν τους επτα αρτους και τους ιχθυας και ευχαριστησας εκλασεν και εδιδου τοις μαθηταις οι δε μαθηται τοις οχλοις [36]And took the seven loaves, and the fishes, and gave thanks, and break them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
[37]και εφαγον παντες και εχορτασθησαν και το περισσευον των κλασματων ηραν επτα σπυριδας πληρεις [37]And they did all eat, and were sufficed: and they took up of the fragments that remained, seven baskets full.
[38]οι δε εσθιοντες ησαν τετρακισχιλιοι ανδρες χωρις γυναικων και παιδιων [38]And they that had eaten, were four thousand men, beside women, and little children.
[39]και απολυσας τους οχλους ενεβη εις το πλοιον και ηλθεν εις τα ορια μαγαδαν [39]Then Jesus sent away the multitude, and took ship, and came into the parts of Magdala.
