| [1]ὁμοία γάρ ἐστιν ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν ἀνθρώπῳ οἰκοδεσπότῃ, ὅστις ἐξῆλθεν ἅμα πρωῒ μισθώσασθαι ἐργάτας εἰς τὸν ἀμπελῶνα αὐτοῦ· |
[1]For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain householder, which went out at the dawning of the day to hire laborers into his vineyard. |
| [2]συμφωνήσας δὲ μετὰ τῶν ἐργατῶν ἐκ δηναρίου τὴν ἡμέραν, ἀπέστειλεν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸν ἀμπελῶνα αὐτοῦ. |
[2]And he agreed with the laborers for a penny a day, and sent them into his vineyard. |
| [3]καὶ ἐξελθὼν περὶ τήν τρίτην ὥραν, εἶδεν ἄλλους ἑστῶτας ἐν τῇ ἀγορᾷ ἀργούς· |
[3]And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the market place, |
| [4]κἀκείνοις εἶπεν, Ὑπάγετε καὶ ὑμεῖς εἰς τὸν ἀμπελῶνα, καὶ ὃ ἐὰν ᾖ δίκαιον δώσω ὑμῖν. οἱ δὲ ἀπῆλθόν |
[4]And said unto them, Go ye also into my vineyard, and whatsoever is right, I will give you: and they went their way. |
| [5]πάλιν ἐξελθὼν περὶ ἕκτην καὶ ἐννάτην ὥραν, ἐποίησεν ὡσαύτως |
[5]Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise. |
| [6]περὶ δὲ τὴν ἑνδεκάτην ὥραν ἐξελθών, εὗρεν ἄλλους ἑστῶτας ἀργούς, καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς, Τί ὧδε ἑστήκατε ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν ἀργοί; |
[6]And he went about the eleventh hour, and found other standing idle, and said unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? |
| [7]λέγουσιν αὐτῷ, Ὅτι οὐδεὶς ἡμᾶς ἐμισθώσατο. λέγει αὐτοῖς, Ὑπάγετε καὶ ὑμεῖς εἰς τὸν ἀμπελῶνα, καὶ ὃ ἐὰν ᾕ δίκαιον λήψεσθε |
[7]They said unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He said to them, Go ye also into my vineyard, and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive. |
| [8]ὀψίας δὲ γενομένης λέγει ὁ κύριος τοῦ ἀμπελῶνος τῷ ἐπιτρόπῳ αὐτοῦ, Κάλεσον τοὺς ἐργάτας, καὶ ἀπόδος αὐτοῖς τὸν μισθόν, ἀρξάμενος ἀπὸ τῶν ἐσχάτων ἕως τῶν πρώτων |
[8]And when even was come, the master of the vineyard said unto his steward, Call the laborers, and give them their hire, beginning at the last, till thou come to the first. |
| [9]καὶ ἐλθόντες οἱ περὶ τὴν ἑνδεκάτην ὥραν ἔλαβον ἀνὰ δηνάριον. |
[9]And they which were hired about the eleventh hour, came and received every man a penny. |
| [10]ἐλθόντες δὲ οἱ πρῶτοι ἐνόμισαν ὅτι πλεῖονα λήψονται· καὶ ἔλαβον καὶ αὐτοὶ ἀνὰ δηνάριον. |
[10]Now when the first came, they supposed that they should receive more, but they likewise received every man a penny. |
| [11]λαβόντες δὲ ἐγόγγυζον κατὰ τοῦ οἰκοδεσπότου, |
[11]And when they had received it, they murmured against the master of the house, |
| [12]λέγοντες ὅτι Οὗτοι οἱ ἔσχατοι μίαν ὥραν ἐποίησαν, καὶ ἴσους ἡμῖν αὐτοὺς ἐποίησας, τοῖς βαστάσασι τὸ βάρος τῆς ἡμέρας καὶ τὸν καύσωνα. |
[12]Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have born the burden, and heat of the day. |
| [13]ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν ἑνὶ αὐτῶν, Ἑταῖρε, οὐκ ἀδικῶ σε· οὐχὶ δηναρίου συνεφώνησάς μοι; |
[13]And he answered one of them, saying, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst thou not agree with me for a penny? |
| [14]ἆρον τὸ σὸν καὶ ὕπαγε· θέλω δὲ τούτῳ τῷ ἐσχάτῳ δοῦναι ὡς καὶ σοί. |
[14]Take that which is thine own, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, as much as to thee. |
| [15]ἢ οὐκ ἔξεστί μοι ποιῆσαι ὃ θέλω ἐν τοῖς ἐμοῖς; ἢ ὁ ὀφθαλμός σου πονηρός ἐστιν, ὅτι ἐγὼ ἀγαθός εἰμι; |
[15]Is it not lawful for me to do as I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil because I am good? |
| [16]οὕτως ἔσονται οἱ ἔσχατοι πρῶτοι, καὶ οἱ πρῶτοι ἔσχατοι· πολλοὶ γάρ εἰσι κλητοί, ὀλίγοί δὲ ἐκλεκτοί. |
[16]So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many are called, but few chosen. |
| [17]Καὶ ἀναβαίνων ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα παρέλαβε τοὺς δώδεκα μαθητὰς κατ’ ἰδίαν ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ, καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, |
[17]And Jesus went up to Jerusalem, and took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them, |
| [18]Ἰδού, ἀναβαίνομεν εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα, καὶ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου παραδοθήσεται τοῖς ἀρχιερεῦσι καὶ γραμματεῦσι· καὶ κατακρινοῦσιν αὐτὸν θανάτῳ, |
[18]Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief Priests, and unto the Scribes, and they shall condemn him to death, |
| [19]καὶ παραδώσουσιν αὐτὸν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν εἰς τὸ ἐμπαῖξαι καὶ μαστιγῶσαι καὶ σταυρῶσαι· καὶ τῇ τρίτῃ ἡμέρᾳ ἀναστήσεται. |
[19]And shall deliver him to the Gentiles, to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: but the third day he shall rise again. |
| [20]Τότε προσῆλθεν αὐτῷ ἡ μήτηρ τῶν υἱῶν Ζεβεδαίου μετὰ τῶν υἱῶν αὐτῆς, προσκυνοῦσα καὶ αἰτοῦσά τι παρ’ αὐτοῦ. |
[20]Then came to him the mother of Zebedees children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him. |
| [21]ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῇ, Τί θέλεις; λέγει αὐτῷ, Εἰπὲ ἵνα καθίσωσιν οὗτοι οἱ δύο υἱοί μου, εἷς ἐκ δεξιῶν σου, καὶ εἷς ἐξ εὐωνύμων, ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ σου. |
[21]And he said unto her, What wouldest thou? She said to him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one at thy right hand, and the other at thy left hand in thy kingdom. |
| [22]ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν, Οὐκ οἴδατε τί αἰτεῖσθε δύνασθε πιεῖν τὸ ποτήριον ὃ ἐγὼ μέλλω πίνειν, καὶ τὸ βάπτισμα ὅ ἐγὼ βαπτίζομαι βαπτισθῆναι; λέγουσιν αὐτῷ, Δυνάμεθα. |
[22]And Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I shall be baptized with? They said to him, We are able. |
| [23]καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς, Τὸ μὲν ποτήριόν μου πίεσθε, καὶ τὸ βάπτισμα ὃ ἐγὼ βαπτίζομαι βαπτισθήσεσθε· τὸ δὲ καθίσαι ἐκ δεξιῶν μου καὶ ἐξ εὐωνύμων μου, οὐκ ἔστιν ἐμὸν δοῦναι, ἀλλ’ οἷς ἡτοίμασται ὑπὸ τοῦ πατρός μου. |
[23]And he said unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and shall be baptized with the baptism, that I am baptized with, but to sit at my right hand, and at my left hand, is not mine to give: but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father. |
| [24]καὶ ἀκούσαντες οἱ δέκα ἠγανάκτησαν περὶ τῶν δύο ἀδελφῶν. |
[24]And when the other ten heard this, they disdained at the two brethren. |
| [25]ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς προσκαλεσάμενος αὐτοὺς εἶπεν, Οἴδατε ὅτι οἱ ἄρχοντες τῶν ἐθνῶν κατακυριεύουσιν αὐτῶν, καὶ οἱ μεγάλοι κατεξουσιάζουσιν αὐτῶν. |
[25]Therefore Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the lords of the Gentiles have domination over them, and they that are great, exercise authority over them. |
| [26]οὐχ οὕτως δὲ ἔσται ἐν ὑμῖν· ἀλλ’ ὃς ἐὰν θέλῃ ἐν ὑμῖν μέγας γενέσθαι ἔστω ὑμῶν διάκονος· |
[26]But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your servant. |
| [27]καὶ ὃς ἐὰν θέλῃ ἐν ὑμῖν εἶναι πρῶτος ἔστω ὑμῶν δοῦλος· |
[27]And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant. |
| [28]ὥσπερ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου οὐκ ἦλθε διακονηθῆναι, ἀλλὰ διακονῆσαι, καὶ δοῦναι τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ λύτρον ἀντὶ πολλῶν. |
[28]Even as the Son of man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life for the ransom of many. |
| [29]Καὶ ἐκπορευομένων αὐτῶν ἀπὸ Ἰεριχώ, ἠκολούθησεν αὐτῷ ὄχλος πολύς. |
[29]And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him. |
| [30]καὶ ἰδού, δύο τυφλοὶ καθήμενοι παρὰ τὴν ὁδόν, ἀκούσαντες ὅτι Ἰησοῦς παράγει, ἔκραξαν, λέγοντες, Ἐλέησον ἡμᾶς, Κύριε, υἱὸς Δαβίδ. |
[30]And behold, two blind men, sitting by the wayside, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried saying, O Lord, the Son of David, have mercy on us. |
| [31]ὁ δὲ ὄχλος ἐπετίμησεν αὐτοῖς ἵνα σιωπήσωσιν οἱ δὲ μεῖζον ἔκραζον, λέγοντες, Ἐλέησον ἡμᾶς, Κύριε, υἱὸς Δαβίδ. |
[31]And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, O Lord, the Son of David, have mercy on us. |
| [32]καὶ στὰς ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐφώνησεν αὐτούς, καὶ εἶπε, Τί θέλετε ποιήσω ὑμῖν; |
[32]Then Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I should do to you? |
| [33]λέγουσιν αὐτῷ, Κύριε, ἵνα ἀνοιχθῶσιν ἡμῶν οἱ ὀφθαλμοί. |
[33]They said to him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened. |
| [34]σπλαγχνισθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἥψατο τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν αὐτῶν·, καὶ εὐθέως ἀνέβλεψαν αὐτῶν οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ, καὶ ἠκολούθησαν αὐτῷ |
[34]And Jesus moved with compassion touched their eyes, and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him. |
