[1]And preaching he was in the desert of Judea in them but in days those came John the baptizer [1]Ἐν δὲ ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις παραγίνεται ᾿Ιωάννης ὁ βαπτιστὴς κηρύσσων ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ τῆς ᾿Ιουδαίας
[2]And he said repent has come near it the Kingdom of Heaven [2]καὶ λέγων· μετανοεῖτε· ἤγγικε γὰρ ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν.
[3]This is for he of whom was said by Isaiah the prophet a voice that cries in the desert prepare the way of the Lord and level His paths
[4]This and John it was his garment of hair of the camel and he girt the loins with leather on his loins and his food was locusts and honey of the field
[5]Then going out was Jerusalem and all Judea and the whole region which is around the Jordan
[6]And being baptized they were by him in the Jordan river while confessing their sins [6]καὶ ἐβαπτίζοντο ἐν τῷ ᾿Ιορδάνῃ ὑπ᾿ αὐτοῦ ἐξομολογούμενοι τὰς ἁμαρτίας αὐτῶν.
[7]When he saw but many from the Pharisees and from the Sadducees that came to be baptized he said to them offspring of vipers who? instructed you to flee from the wrath that is coming [7]ἰδὼν δὲ πολλοὺς τῶν Φαρισαίων καὶ Σαδδουκαίων ἐρχομένους ἐπὶ τὸ βάπτισμα αὐτοῦ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· γεννήματα ἐχιδνῶν, τίς ὑπέδειξεν ὑμῖν φυγεῖν ἀπὸ τῆς μελλούσης ὀργῆς;
[8]Produce therefore fruit that is worthy for repentance
[9]And not think and say in yourselves that the father is to us Abraham say I to you for can Alaha from these stones raise up children to Abraham [9]καὶ μὴ δόξητε λέγειν ἐν ἑαυτοῖς, πατέρα ἔχομεν τὸν ᾿Αβραάμ· λέγω γὰρ ὑμῖν ὅτι δύναται ὁ Θεὸς ἐκ τῶν λίθων τούτων ἐγεῖραι τέκνα τῷ ᾿Αβραάμ.
[10]Behold but the axe is laid on the root of the tree every tree therefore that fruit good not has produced is cut down and falls into the fire [10]ἤδη δὲ καὶ ἡ ἀξίνη πρὸς τὴν ῥίζαν τῶν δένδρων κεῖται· πᾶν οὖν δένδρον μὴ ποιοῦν καρπὸν καλὸν ἐκκόπτεται καὶ εἰς πῦρ βάλλεται.
[11]I baptizing am you in water for repentance He but Who after me comes mightier He than I is for not worthy I am His sandals to pick up He is to baptize you in The Spirit of Holiness and in fire [11]ἐγὼ μὲν βαπτίζω ὑμᾶς ἐν ὕδατι εἰς μετάνοιαν· ὁ δὲ ὀπίσω μου ἐρχόμενος ἰσχυρότερός μου ἐστίν, οὗ οὐκ εἰμὶ ἱκανὸς τὰ ὑποδήματα βαστάσαι· αὐτὸς ὑμᾶς βαπτίσει ἐν Πνεύματι ῾Αγίῳ καὶ πυρί.
[12]Is for the winnowing fan in His hand and He purges His threshing floor and the wheat He gathers into His barns and the chaff He will burn in fire which is not extinguished [12]οὗ τὸ πτύον ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ διακαθαριεῖ τὴν ἅλωνα αὐτοῦ, καὶ συνάξει τὸν σῖτον αὐτοῦ εἰς τὴν ἀποθήκην, τὸ δὲ ἄχυρον κατακαύσει πυρὶ ἀσβέστῳ.
[13]Then came Ieshu from Galila to the Jordan unto John to be baptized by him [13]Τότε παραγίνεται ὁ ᾿Ιησοῦς ἀπὸ τῆς Γαλιλαίας ἐπὶ τὸν ᾿Ιορδάνην πρὸς τὸν ᾿Ιωάννην τοῦ βαπτισθῆναι ὑπ᾿ αὐτοῦ.
[14]He but John refused had Him and he said I need do by You to be baptized and You to me have come? [14]ὁ δὲ ᾿Ιωάννης διεκώλυεν αὐτὸν λέγων· ἐγὼ χρείαν ἔχω ὑπὸ σοῦ βαπτισθῆναι, καὶ σὺ ἔρχῃ πρός με;
[15]He but Ieshu answered and said to him allow now this for it is proper for us to fulfill all justice and then he allowed Him
[16]When was baptized but Ieshu at once He came up from the water and were opened to Him the Heavens and He saw The Spirit of Alaha descending like a dove and coming upon Him [16]καὶ βαπτισθεὶς ὁ ᾿Ιησοῦς ἀνέβη εὐθὺς ἀπὸ τοῦ ὕδατος· καὶ ἰδοὺ ἀνεῴχθησαν αὐτῷ οἱ οὐρανοί, καὶ εἶδε τὸ Πνεῦμα τοῦ Θεοῦ καταβαῖνον ὡσεὶ περιστερὰν καὶ ἐρχόμενον ἐπ᾿ αὐτόν·
[17]And behold a voice from the Heavens that said This is My Son The Beloved in Whom I am delighted [17]καὶ ἰδοὺ φωνὴ ἐκ τῶν οὐρανῶν λέγουσα· οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ υἱός μου ὁ ἀγαπητός, ἐν ᾧ εὐδόκησα.
