| [1]καὶ ἐμβὰς εἰς πλοῖον διεπέρασεν καὶ ἦλθεν εἰς τὴν ἰδίαν πόλιν. |
[1]Then he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city. |
| [2]καὶ ἰδοὺ προσέφερον αὐτῶ παραλυτικὸν ἐπὶ κλίνης βεβλημένον. καὶ ἰδὼν ὁ ἰησοῦς τὴν πίστιν αὐτῶν εἶπεν τῶ παραλυτικῶ, θάρσει, τέκνον· ἀφίενταί σου αἱ ἁμαρτίαι. |
[2]And lo, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed. And Jesus seeing their faith, said to the sick of the palsy, Son, be of good comfort: thy sins are forgiven thee. |
| [3]καὶ ἰδού τινες τῶν γραμματέων εἶπαν ἐν ἑαυτοῖς, οὖτος βλασφημεῖ. |
[3]And behold, certain of the Scribes said with themselves, This man blasphemeth. |
| [4]καὶ ἰδὼν ὁ ἰησοῦς τὰς ἐνθυμήσεις αὐτῶν εἶπεν, ἱνατί ἐνθυμεῖσθε πονηρὰ ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις ὑμῶν; |
[4]But when Jesus saw their thoughts, he said, Wherefore think ye evil things in your hearts? |
| [5]τί γάρ ἐστιν εὐκοπώτερον, εἰπεῖν, ἀφίενταί σου αἱ ἁμαρτίαι, ἢ εἰπεῖν, ἔγειρε καὶ περιπάτει; |
[5]For whether is it easier to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee, or to say, Arise, and walk? |
| [6]ἵνα δὲ εἰδῆτε ὅτι ἐξουσίαν ἔχει ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἀφιέναι ἁμαρτίας _ τότε λέγει τῶ παραλυτικῶ, ἐγερθεὶς ἆρόν σου τὴν κλίνην καὶ ὕπαγε εἰς τὸν οἶκόν σου. |
[6]And that ye may know that the Son of man hath authority in earth to forgive sins, (then said he unto the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go to thine house. |
| [7]καὶ ἐγερθεὶς ἀπῆλθεν εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ. |
[7]And he arose, and departed to his own house. |
| [8]ἰδόντες δὲ οἱ ὄχλοι ἐφοβήθησαν καὶ ἐδόξασαν τὸν θεὸν τὸν δόντα ἐξουσίαν τοιαύτην τοῖς ἀνθρώποις. |
[8]So when the multitude saw it, they marveled, and glorified God, which had given such authority to men. |
| [9]καὶ παράγων ὁ ἰησοῦς ἐκεῖθεν εἶδεν ἄνθρωπον καθήμενον ἐπὶ τὸ τελώνιον, μαθθαῖον λεγόμενον, καὶ λέγει αὐτῶ, ἀκολούθει μοι. καὶ ἀναστὰς ἠκολούθησεν αὐτῶ. |
[9]And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man sitting at the receipt of custom named Matthew, and said to him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him. |
| [10]καὶ ἐγένετο αὐτοῦ ἀνακειμένου ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ, καὶ ἰδοὺ πολλοὶ τελῶναι καὶ ἁμαρτωλοὶ ἐλθόντες συνανέκειντο τῶ ἰησοῦ καὶ τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ. |
[10]And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, behold, many Publicans and sinners, that came thither, sat down at the table with Jesus and his disciples. |
| [11]καὶ ἰδόντες οἱ φαρισαῖοι ἔλεγον τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ, διὰ τί μετὰ τῶν τελωνῶν καὶ ἁμαρτωλῶν ἐσθίει ὁ διδάσκαλος ὑμῶν; |
[11]And when the Pharisees saw that, they said to his disciples, Why eateth your master with Publicans and sinners? |
| [12]ὁ δὲ ἀκούσας εἶπεν, οὐ χρείαν ἔχουσιν οἱ ἰσχύοντες ἰατροῦ ἀλλ᾽ οἱ κακῶς ἔχοντες. |
[12]Now when Jesus heard it, he said unto them, The whole need not a Physician, but they that are sick. |
| [13]πορευθέντες δὲ μάθετε τί ἐστιν, ἔλεος θέλω καὶ οὐ θυσίαν· οὐ γὰρ ἦλθον καλέσαι δικαίους ἀλλὰ ἁμαρτωλούς. |
[13]But go ye and learn what this is, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but the sinners to repentance. |
| [14]τότε προσέρχονται αὐτῶ οἱ μαθηταὶ ἰωάννου λέγοντες, διὰ τί ἡμεῖς καὶ οἱ φαρισαῖοι νηστεύομεν [πολλά], οἱ δὲ μαθηταί σου οὐ νηστεύουσιν; |
[14]Then came the disciples of John to him, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, and thy disciples fast not? |
| [15]καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ὁ ἰησοῦς, μὴ δύνανται οἱ υἱοὶ τοῦ νυμφῶνος πενθεῖν ἐφ᾽ ὅσον μετ᾽ αὐτῶν ἐστιν ὁ νυμφίος; ἐλεύσονται δὲ ἡμέραι ὅταν ἀπαρθῇ ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν ὁ νυμφίος, καὶ τότε νηστεύσουσιν. |
[15]And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the marriage chamber mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast. |
| [16]οὐδεὶς δὲ ἐπιβάλλει ἐπίβλημα ῥάκους ἀγνάφου ἐπὶ ἱματίῳ παλαιῶ· αἴρει γὰρ τὸ πλήρωμα αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ τοῦ ἱματίου, καὶ χεῖρον σχίσμα γίνεται. |
[16]Moreover no man pieceth an old garment with a piece of new cloth: for that that should fill it up, taketh away from the garment, and the breach is worse. |
| [17]οὐδὲ βάλλουσιν οἶνον νέον εἰς ἀσκοὺς παλαιούς· εἰ δὲ μή γε, ῥήγνυνται οἱ ἀσκοί, καὶ ὁ οἶνος ἐκχεῖται καὶ οἱ ἀσκοὶ ἀπόλλυνται· ἀλλὰ βάλλουσιν οἶνον νέον εἰς ἀσκοὺς καινούς, καὶ ἀμφότεροι συντηροῦνται. |
[17]Neither do they put new wine into old vessels: for then the vessels would break, and the wine would be spilled, and the vessels should perish: but they put new wine into new vessels, and so are both preserved. |
| [18]ταῦτα αὐτοῦ λαλοῦντος αὐτοῖς ἰδοὺ ἄρχων εἷς ἐλθὼν προσεκύνει αὐτῶ λέγων ὅτι ἡ θυγάτηρ μου ἄρτι ἐτελεύτησεν· ἀλλὰ ἐλθὼν ἐπίθες τὴν χεῖρά σου ἐπ᾽ αὐτήν, καὶ ζήσεται. |
[18]While he thus spake unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is now deceased, but come and lay thine hand on her, and she shall live. |
| [19]καὶ ἐγερθεὶς ὁ ἰησοῦς ἠκολούθησεν αὐτῶ καὶ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ. |
[19]And Jesus arose and followed him with his disciples. |
| [20]καὶ ἰδοὺ γυνὴ αἱμορροοῦσα δώδεκα ἔτη προσελθοῦσα ὄπισθεν ἥψατο τοῦ κρασπέδου τοῦ ἱματίου αὐτοῦ· |
[20](And behold a woman which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment. |
| [21]ἔλεγεν γὰρ ἐν ἑαυτῇ, ἐὰν μόνον ἅψωμαι τοῦ ἱματίου αὐτοῦ σωθήσομαι. |
[21]For she said in herself, If I may touch but his garment only, I shall be whole. |
| [22]ὁ δὲ ἰησοῦς στραφεὶς καὶ ἰδὼν αὐτὴν εἶπεν, θάρσει, θύγατερ· ἡ πίστις σου σέσωκέν σε. καὶ ἐσώθη ἡ γυνὴ ἀπὸ τῆς ὥρας ἐκείνης. |
[22]Then Jesus turned himself about, and seeing her, did say, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole at that hour.) |
| [23]καὶ ἐλθὼν ὁ ἰησοῦς εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν τοῦ ἄρχοντος καὶ ἰδὼν τοὺς αὐλητὰς καὶ τὸν ὄχλον θορυβούμενον |
[23]Now when Jesus came into the Rulers house, and saw the minstrels and the multitude making noise, |
| [24]ἔλεγεν, ἀναχωρεῖτε, οὐ γὰρ ἀπέθανεν τὸ κοράσιον ἀλλὰ καθεύδει. καὶ κατεγέλων αὐτοῦ. |
[24]He said unto them, Get you hence: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn. |
| [25]ὅτε δὲ ἐξεβλήθη ὁ ὄχλος, εἰσελθὼν ἐκράτησεν τῆς χειρὸς αὐτῆς, καὶ ἠγέρθη τὸ κοράσιον. |
[25]And when the multitude were put forth, he went in and took her by the hand, and the maid arose. |
| [26]καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ἡ φήμη αὕτη εἰς ὅλην τὴν γῆν ἐκείνην. |
[26]And this bruit went throughout all that land. |
| [27]καὶ παράγοντι ἐκεῖθεν τῶ ἰησοῦ ἠκολούθησαν [αὐτῶ] δύο τυφλοὶ κράζοντες καὶ λέγοντες, ἐλέησον ἡμᾶς, υἱὸς δαυίδ. |
[27]And as Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, O son of David, have mercy upon us. |
| [28]ἐλθόντι δὲ εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν προσῆλθον αὐτῶ οἱ τυφλοί, καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς ὁ ἰησοῦς, πιστεύετε ὅτι δύναμαι τοῦτο ποιῆσαι; λέγουσιν αὐτῶ, ναί, κύριε. |
[28]And when he was come into the house, the blind came to him, and Jesus said unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? And they said unto him, Yea, Lord. |
| [29]τότε ἥψατο τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν αὐτῶν λέγων, κατὰ τὴν πίστιν ὑμῶν γενηθήτω ὑμῖν. |
[29]Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. |
| [30]καὶ ἠνεῴχθησαν αὐτῶν οἱ ὀφθαλμοί. καὶ ἐνεβριμήθη αὐτοῖς ὁ ἰησοῦς λέγων, ὁρᾶτε μηδεὶς γινωσκέτω. |
[30]And their eyes were opened, and Jesus charged them, saying, See that no man know it. |
| [31]οἱ δὲ ἐξελθόντες διεφήμισαν αὐτὸν ἐν ὅλῃ τῇ γῇ ἐκείνῃ. |
[31]But when they were departed, they spread abroad his fame throughout all that land. |
| [32]αὐτῶν δὲ ἐξερχομένων ἰδοὺ προσήνεγκαν αὐτῶ ἄνθρωπον κωφὸν δαιμονιζόμενον· |
[32]And as they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil. |
| [33]καὶ ἐκβληθέντος τοῦ δαιμονίου ἐλάλησεν ὁ κωφός. καὶ ἐθαύμασαν οἱ ὄχλοι λέγοντες, οὐδέποτε ἐφάνη οὕτως ἐν τῶ ἰσραήλ. |
[33]And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: then the multitude marveled, saying, The like was never seen in Israel. |
| [34]οἱ δὲ φαρισαῖοι ἔλεγον, ἐν τῶ ἄρχοντι τῶν δαιμονίων ἐκβάλλει τὰ δαιμόνια. |
[34]But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils, through the prince of devils. |
| [35]καὶ περιῆγεν ὁ ἰησοῦς τὰς πόλεις πάσας καὶ τὰς κώμας, διδάσκων ἐν ταῖς συναγωγαῖς αὐτῶν καὶ κηρύσσων τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τῆς βασιλείας καὶ θεραπεύων πᾶσαν νόσον καὶ πᾶσαν μαλακίαν. |
[35]And Jesus went about all cities and towns, teaching in their Synagogues, and preaching the Gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. |
| [36]ἰδὼν δὲ τοὺς ὄχλους ἐσπλαγχνίσθη περὶ αὐτῶν ὅτι ἦσαν ἐσκυλμένοι καὶ ἐρριμμένοι ὡσεὶ πρόβατα μὴ ἔχοντα ποιμένα. |
[36]But when he saw the multitude, he had compassion upon them, because they were dispersed, and scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. |
| [37]τότε λέγει τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ, ὁ μὲν θερισμὸς πολύς, οἱ δὲ ἐργάται ὀλίγοι· |
[37]Then said he to his disciples, Surely the harvest is great, but the laborers are few. |
| [38]δεήθητε οὗν τοῦ κυρίου τοῦ θερισμοῦ ὅπως ἐκβάλῃ ἐργάτας εἰς τὸν θερισμὸν αὐτοῦ. |
[38]Wherefore pray the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth laborers into his harvest. |
