| [1]ܫܡܲܥܘ ܡܸܟܹ̇ܝܠ ܡܸܕܸ̇ܡ ܕܐܸܡܲܪ ܡܵܪܝܵܐ: ܩܘܼܡ ܕܘܼܢ ܥܲܡ ܛܘܼܪܹ̈ܐ: ܘܢܸܫ̱ܡ̈ܥܵܢ ܩܵܠܵܟ݂ ܪ̈ܵܡܵܬ̣ܵܐ. |
[1]Hear now a word: the Lord God has said; Arise, plead with the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice. |
| [2]ܫܡܲܥܘ ܛܘܼܪܹ̈ܐ ܕܝܼܢܹܗ ܕܡܵܪܝܵܐ: ܘܥܘܼܡܩܹ̈ܐ ܕܫܲܬ̣ܐ̱ܣܹܝ̈ܗ̇ ܕܐܲܪܥܵܐ: ܕܕ݂ܵܐܹ̇ܢ ܡܵܪܝܵܐ ܥܲܡ ܥܲܡܹܗ. ܘܠܝܼܣܪܵܝܹܠ ܡܲܟܸ̇ܣ. |
[2]Hear ye, O mountains, the controversy of the Lord, and ye valleys even the foundations of the earth: for the Lord has a controversy with his people, and will plead with Israel. |
| [3]ܥܲܡܝ ܡܵܢܵܐ ܥܸܒ̣̇ܕܹ̇ܬ̣ ܠܵܟ݂: ܐܵܘ ܒܡܵܢܵܐ ܐܲܟ݂ܪܝܬ̇ ܠܵܟ݂: ܐܲܣܗܸܕ݂ܝܢܝ. |
[3]O my people, what have I done to thee? or wherein have I grieved thee? or wherein have I troubled thee? answer me. |
| [4]ܠܵܐ ܐܲܣܸܩ̇ܬܵܟ݂ ܡ̣ܢ ܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܕܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ: ܘܡ̣ܢ ܒܹܝܬ̣ ܥܲܒ̣ܕ̇ܘܼܬ̣ܵܐ ܦܪܲܩܬܵܟ݂: ܘܫܲܕ̇ܪܹܬ̣ ܩܕ݂ܵܡܲܝܟ ܠܡܘܼܫܹܐ ܘܠܲܐܗܪܘܼܢ ܘܲܠܡܲܪܝܲܡ. |
[4]For I brought tee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of bondage, and sent before thee Moses, and Aaron, and Mariam. |
| [5]ܥܲܡܝ ܐܸܬ̇ܕܲܟ݂ܪ ܗܵܟܹܝܠ ܡܵܢܵܐ ܐܸܬܪܲܥܝܼ ܥܠܲܝܟ ܒܵܠܵܩ ܡܲܠܟܵܐ ܕܡܘܼܐܵܒ̣: ܘܡܵܢܵܐ ܥܢ̣ܝܗܝ ܒܸܠܥܵܡ ܒܲܪ ܒܥܘܿܪ: ܡ̣ܢ ܣܵܛܝܼܡ ܘܲܥܕܲܡܵܐ ܠܓܲܠܓܵܠ: ܡܸܛܠ ܕܝܼܕܲܥ̣ ܙܲܕ̇ܝܼܩܘܼܬܹܗ ܕܡܵܪܝܵܐ. |
[5]O my people, remember now, what counsel Balac king of Moab took against thee, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him, from the reeds to Galgal; that the righteousness of the Lord might be known. |
| [6]ܒܡܵܢܵܐ ܐܹܩܲܕܸ̇ܡ ܠܡܵܪܝܵܐ: ܘܐܸܫܦܲܪ ܠܐܲܠܵܗܵܐ ܡܪܲܝܡܵܐ: ܐܹܩܲܕ̇ܡܝܼܘܗܝ ܒܝܲܩ̈ܕܹ̇ܐ ܫܲܠܡܹ̈ܐ: ܐܵܘ ܒܥܸܓ̣ܠܹ̈ܐ ܒܢܲܝ̈ ܫܲܢ̄ܬܵܐ. |
[6]Wherewithal shall I reach the Lord, and lay hold of my God most high? shall I reach him by whole-burnt-offerings, by calves of a year old? |
| [7]ܠܵܐ ܡܸܨܛܒܸܐ ܡܵܪܝܵܐ ܒܐܲܠܦܹ̈ܐ ܕܕܸܟ݂ܪܹ̈ܐ: ܐܵܦܠܵܐ ܒܪܸ̈ܒ̇ܘܵܬ̣ܵܐ ܕܚܲܝܠܵܐ ܕܡܘܼܫܚܹ̈ܐ. ܐܸܢ ܐܸܬܸ̇ܠ ܒܘܼܟ݂ܪܝ ܥܵܘܼܠܵܐ ܗ̄ܘܼ ܠܝܼ: ܘܦܹܐܪܹ̈ܐ ܕܟܲܪܣܝ ܚܛܝܼܬ̣ܵܐ ܐܸܢܘܿܢ ܕܢܲܦ̮ܫܝ. |
[7]Will the Lord accept thousands of rams, or ten thousands of fat goats? should I give my first-born for ungodliness, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? |
| [8]ܚܵܘܝܼܬ̣ܵܟ݂ ܒܲܪܢܵܫܵܐ ܡܸܕܸ̇ܡ ܕܲܡܥܲܕܲܪ ܕܬ̣ܵܒܲܥ ܠܵܟ݂ ܡܵܪܝܵܐ: ܕܬܸܥܒܸ̇ܕ݂ ܕܝܼܢܵܐ ܘܬܸܪܚܲܡ ܛܲܝܒ̇ܘܼܬ̣ܵܐ: ܘܬܸܗܘܹܐ ܥܬ̣ܝܼܕ݂ ܠܡܹܐܙܲܠ ܒܵܬܲܪ ܐܲܠܵܗܵܟ݂. |
[8]Has it not been told thee, O man, what is good? or what does the Lord require of thee, but to do justice, and love mercy, and be ready to walk with the Lord thy God? |
| [9]ܩܵܠܹܗ ܕܡܵܪܝܵܐ ܥܲܠ ܡܕ݂ܝܼܢ̄ܬܵܐ: ܡܲܟ݂ܪܸܙ ܝܘܼܠܦܵܢܵܐ ܠܕ݂ܵܚܠܲܝ̈ ܫܡܹܗ: ܫܡܲܥ ܫܲܒ̣ܛܹܐ ܡܲܢ ܢܲܣܗܸܕ݂. |
[9]The Lord's voice shall be proclaimed in the city, and he shall save those that fear his name: hear, O tribe; and who shall order the city? |
| [10]ܕܬ̣ܘܼܒ̣ ܢܘܼܪܵܐ ܒܒܲܝܬܹ̇ܗ ܕܥܵܘܵܠܵܐ: ܘܐܵܘܨܪܹ̈ܐ ܕܥܵܘܼܠܵܐ: ܘܲܟ݂ܝܵܠܬܵܐ ܙܥܘܿܪܬܵܐ ܕܥܸܬܵܐ. |
[10]Is there not fire, and the house of the wicked heaping up wicked treasures, and that with the pride of unrighteousness? |
| [11]ܐܲܝܟܲܢܵܐ ܢܸܙܕܲܕ̇ܩܘܼܢ ܒܡܲܣܲܐܬ̣ܵܐ ܕܥܵܘܼܠܵܐ: ܘܲܒ̣ܡܲܪܣܘܼܦܵܐ ܕܡܲܬ̣ܩܵܠܹ̈ܐ ܕܢܸܟ݂ܠܵܐ. |
[11]Shall the wicked be justified by the balanced, or deceitful weights in the bag, |
| [12]ܕܥܲܬ̇ܝܼܪܹ̈ܝܗ̇ ܡܠܹܝܢ ܥܸܬܵܐ: ܘܥܵܡܘܿܪܹ̈ܝܗ̇ ܡܡܲܠܠܝܼܢ ܕܲܓܵܠܘܼܬ̣ܵܐ: ܘܠܸܫܵܢܗܘܿܢ ܢܟ݂ܝܼܠ ܒܦܘܼܡܗܘܿܢ. |
[12]whereby they have accumulated their ungodly wealth, and they that dwell in the city have uttered falsehoods, and their tongue has been exalted in their mouth? |
| [13]ܐܵܦ ܐܸܢܵܐ ܐܹܫܲܪܸܐ ܠܡܸܡ̄ܚܝܵܟ݂: ܘܐܹܚܲܒ̇ܠܵܟ݂ ܡܸܛܠ ܚܛܵܗܲܝ̈ܟ. |
[13]Therefore will I begin to smite thee; I will destroy thee in thy sins. |
| [14]ܘܬܹܐܟ݂ܘܿܠ ܘܠܵܐ ܬܸܣܒܲܥ: ܘܥܵܒܲܪܬܵܐ ܬܸܗܘܹܐ ܒܓ̣ܵܘܵܟ݂: ܘܬܲܕ݂ܪܸܟ݂ ܘܠܵܐ ܬܦܲܨܹܐ: ܘܡܸܕܸ̇ܡ ܕܲܬ̣ܦܲܨܹܐ ܠܚܲܪܒܵܐ ܐܲܫܠܸܡ. |
[14]Thou shalt eat, and shalt not be satisfied; and there shall be darkness upon thee; and he shall depart from thee, and thou shalt not escape; and all that shall escape shall be delivered over to the sword. |
| [15]ܐܲܢ̄ܬ̇ ܬܸܙܪܘܿܥ ܘܠܵܐ ܬܸܚܨܘܿܕ݂: ܐܲܢ̄ܬ̇ ܬܸܥܨܘܿܪ ܙܲܝ̈ܬܹ̇ܐ ܘܠܵܐ ܬܸܡܫܘܿܚ ܡܸܫܚܵܐ: ܘܬܸܥܨܘܿܪ ܚܲܡܪܵܐ ܘܠܵܐ ܬܸܫܬܸ̇ܐ. |
[15]Thou shalt sow, but thou shalt not reap; thou shalt press the olive, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with oil; and shalt make wine, but ye shall drink no wine: and the ordinances of my people shall be utterly abolished. |
| [16]ܥܲܠ ܕܲܢܛܲܪܬ̇ ܦܘܼܩܕܵܢܵܘ̈ܗܝ ܕܥܲܡܪܝܼ: ܘܟ݂ܠܗܘܿܢ ܥܒ̣ܵܕܹ̈ܐ ܕܒܹܝܬ̣ ܐܵܚܵܒ̣: ܘܗܲܠܸܟ݂ܬ̇ܘܿܢ ܒܬܲܪ̈ܥܝܵܬ̣ܗܘܿܢ: ܡܸܛܠ ܗܵܢܵܐ ܝܲܗܒ̣̇ܬܵܗ̇ ܒܬܸܡܗܵܐ: ܘܥܵܡܘܿܪܹ̈ܝܗ̇ ܒܡܲܫܪܘܿܩܝܼܬ̣ܵܐ: ܘܚܸܣܕܹ̇ܗ ܕܥܲܡܝ ܬܩܲܒ̇ܠܘܼܢ. |
[16]For thou hast kept the statues of Zambri, and done all the works of the house of Achaab; and ye have walked in their ways, that I might deliver thee to utter destruction, and those that inhabit the city to hissing: and ye shall bear the reproach of nations. |
