| [1]וישבו שרי העם בירושלם ושאר העם הפילו גורלות להביא אחד מן העשרה לשבת בירושלם עיר הקדש ותשע הידות בערים |
[1]And the rulers of the people dwelt in Jerusalem: the other people also cast lots, to bring one out of ten to dwell in Jerusalem the holy city, and nine parts to be in the cities. |
| [2]ויברכו העם־לכל האנשים המתנדבים לשבת בירושלם |
[2]And the people thanked all the men that were willing to dwell in Jerusalem. |
| [3]ואלה ראשי המדינה אשר ישבו בירושלם ובערי יהודה ישבו איש באחזתו בעריהם ישראל הכהנים והלוים והנתינים ובני עבדי שלמה |
[3]These now are the chief of the province, that dwelt in Jerusalem, but in the cities of Judah, every one dwelt in his own possession in their cities of Israel, the priests and the Levites, and the Nethinims, and the sons of Solomon's servants. |
| [4]ובירושלם ישבו מבני יהודה ומבני בנימן מבני יהודה עתיה בן עזיה בן זכריה בן אמריה בן שפטיה בן מהללאל־מבני פרץ |
[4]And in Jerusalem dwelt certain of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin. Of the sons of Judah, Athaiah, the son of Uzziah, the son of Zechariah, the son of Amariah, the son of Shephatiah, the son of Mahalalel, of the sons of Perez, |
| [5]ומעשיה בן ברוך בן כל חזה בן חזיה בן עדיה בן יויריב בן זכריה־בן השלני |
[5]And Maaseiah the son of Baruch, the son of Col-Hozeh, the son of Hazaiah, the son of Adaiah, the son of Joiarib, the son of Zechariah, the son of Shiloni. |
| [6]כל בני פרץ הישבים בירושלם־ארבע מאות ששים ושמנה אנשי חיל |
[6]All the sons of Perez that dwelt at Jerusalem, were four hundred, threescore and eight valiant men. |
| [7]ואלה בני בנימן סלא בן משלם בן יועד בן פדיה בן קוליה בן מעשיה בן איתיאל־בן ישעיה |
[7]These also are the sons of Benjamin, Sallu, the son of Meshullam, the son of Joed, the son of Pedaiah, the son of Kolaiah, the son of Maaseiah, the son of Ithiel, the son of Jeshaiah. |
| [8]ואחריו גבי סלי־תשע מאות עשרים ושמנה |
[8]And after him Gabbai, Sallai, nine hundred and twenty and eight. |
| [9]ויואל בן זכרי פקיד עליהם ויהודה בן הסנואה על העיר משנה |
[9]And Joel the son of Zichri was governor over them: and Judah, the son of Hassenuah was the second over the city: |
| [10]מן הכהנים ידעיה בן יויריב יכין |
[10]Of the priests, Jedaiah, the son of Joiarib, Jachin. |
| [11]שריה בן חלקיה בן משלם בן צדוק בן מריות בן אחיטוב־נגד בית האלהים |
[11]Seraiah, the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub was chief of the house of God. |
| [12]ואחיהם עשה המלאכה לבית־שמנה מאות עשרים ושנים ועדיה בן ירחם בן פלליה בן אמצי בן זכריה בן פשחור בן מלכיה |
[12]And their brethren that did the work in the temple, were eight hundred, twenty and two: and Adaiah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Pelaliah, the son of Amzi, the son of Zechariah, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchiah: |
| [13]ואחיו ראשים לאבות מאתים ארבעים ושנים ועמשסי בן עזראל בן אחזי בן משלמות בן אמר |
[13]And his brethren, chief of the fathers, two hundred and two and forty: and Amashsai the son of Azarel, the son of Ahzai, the son of Meshillemoth, the son of Immer: |
| [14]ואחיהם גברי חיל מאה עשרים ושמנה ופקיד עליהם זבדיאל בן הגדולים |
[14]And their brethren valiant men, an hundred and eight and twenty: and their overseer was Zabdiel the son of Haggedolim. |
| [15]ומן הלוים שמעיה בן חשוב בן עזריקם בן חשביה בן בוני |
[15]And of the Levites, Shemaiah, the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Bunni. |
| [16]ושבתי ויוזבד על המלאכה החיצנה לבית האלהים מראשי הלוים |
[16]And Shabbethai, and Jozabad of the chief of the Levites were over the works of the house of God without. |
| [17]ומתניה בן מיכא בן זבדי בן אסף ראש התחלה יהודה לתפלה ובקבקיה משנה מאחיו ועבדא בן שמוע בן גלל בן ידיתון [Q: ידותון] |
[17]And Mattaniah, the son of Mica, the son of Zabdi, the son of Asaph was the chief to begin the thanksgiving and prayer: and Bakbukiah the second of his brethren, and Abda, the son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun. |
| [18]כל הלוים בעיר הקדש מאתים שמנים וארבעה |
[18]All the Levites in the holy city were two hundred fourscore and four. |
| [19]והשוערים עקוב טלמון ואחיהם השמרים בשערים־מאה שבעים ושנים |
[19]And the porters Akkub, Talmon and their brethren that kept the gates, were an hundred twenty and two. |
| [20]ושאר ישראל הכהנים הלוים בכל ערי יהודה איש בנחלתו |
[20]And the residue of Israel, of the priests , and of the Levites dwelt in all the cities of Judah, every one in his inheritance. |
| [21]והנתינים ישבים בעפל וציחא וגשפא על הנתינים |
[21]And the Nethinims dwelt in the fortress, and Ziha, and Gishpa was over the Nethinims. |
| [22]ופקיד הלוים בירושלם־עזי בן בני בן חשביה בן מתניה בן מיכא מבני אסף המשררים לנגד מלאכת בית האלהים |
[22]And the overseer of the Levites in Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Mica: of the sons of Asaph singers were over the work of the house of God. |
| [23]כי מצות המלך עליהם ואמנה על המשררים דבר יום ביומו |
[23]For it was the king's commandment concerning them, that faithful provision should be for the singers every day. |
| [24]ופתחיה בן משיזבאל מבני זרח בן יהודה ליד המלך לכל דבר לעם |
[24]And Pethahiah the son of Meshezabel, of the sons of Zerah, the son of Judah was at the king's hand in all matters concerning the people. |
| [25]ואל החצרים בשדתם־מבני יהודה ישבו בקרית הארבע ובנתיה ובדיבן ובנתיה וביקבצאל וחצריה |
[25]And in the villages in their lands, some of the children of Judah dwelt in Kiriath-arba, and in the villages thereof, and in Dibon, and in the villages thereof, and in Jekabzeel. and in the villages thereof, |
| [26]ובישוע ובמלדה ובבית פלט |
[26]And in Jeshua, and in Moladah, and in Beth-pelet, |
| [27]ובחצר שועל ובבאר שבע ובנתיה |
[27]And in Aazer-shual, and in Beer-sheba, and in the villages thereof, |
| [28]ובצקלג ובמכנה ובבנתיה |
[28]And in Ziklag, and in Mekonah, and in the villages thereof, |
| [29]ובעין רמון ובצרעה ובירמות |
[29]And in En-rimmon, and in Zareah, and in Jarmuth, |
| [30]זנח עדלם וחצריהם לכיש ושדתיה עזקה ובנתיה ויחנו מבאר שבע עד גיא הנם |
[30]Zanoah, Adullam, and in their villages, in Lachish, and in the fields thereof, at Azekah, and in the villages thereof: and they dwelt from Beer-sheba, unto the valley of Hinnom. |
| [31]ובני בנימן מגבע מכמש ועיה ובית אל ובנתיה |
[31]And the sons of Benjamin from Geba, in Michmash, and Aija, and Beth-el, and in the villages thereof, |
| [32]ענתות נב ענניה |
[32]Anathoth, Nob, Ananiah, |
| [33]חצור רמה גתים |
[33]Hazor, Ramah, Gittaim, |
| [34]חדיד צבעים נבלט |
[34]Hadid, Zeboim, Neballat, |
| [35]לד ואונו גי החרשים |
[35]Lod and Ono, in the carpenter's valley. |
| [36]ומן הלוים־מחלקות יהודה לבנימין |
[36]And of the Levites were divisions in Judah and in Benjamin. |
