[1]Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom. [1]ܘܲܒ̣ܫܲܬ̇ܝܼܩܘܼܬܹܗ ܪܵܢܹ̇ܐ ܒܪܸܓ̇ܬ̣ܵܐ: ܘܲܡܡܲܝܸܩ ܒܝܘܼܠܦܵܢܵܐ ܛܵܒ̣ܵܐ.
[2]A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may reveal itself. [2]ܣܲܟ݂ܠܵܐ ܠܵܐ ܨܵܒܹ̇ܐ ܒܚܸܟ݂ܡ̱ܬ̣ܵܐ. ܡܸܛܠ ܕܪܵܢܹ̇ܐ ܠܸܒܹ̇ܗ ܒܫܵܛ̇ܝܘܼܬ̣ܵܐ.
[3]When the wicked cometh, then cometh also contempt, and with ignominy reproach. [3]ܘܡܵܐ ܕܐܸܬ̣ܵܐ ܥܵܘܿܠܵܐ ܠܥܘܼܡܩܵܐ ܕܒ̣ܝܼ̈ܫܵܬ̣ܵܐ: ܐܵܬ̣ܝܵܐ ܥܠܵܘܗܝ ܫܵܛ̇ܝܘܼܬ̣ܵܐ ܘܥܵܘܼܠܵܐ ܘܨܲܥܪܵܐ ܘܚܸܣܕܵܐ.
[4]The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the well-spring of wisdom as a flowing brook. [4]ܡܲـ̈ـܝܵܐ ܥܲܡܝܼܩܹ̈ܐ ܡܸܠܲܝ̈ ܦܘܼܡܹܗ ܕܓܲܒ̣ܪܵܐ: ܘܢܲܚܠܵܐ ܕܢܵܒܲܥ ܡܲܒ̇ܘܼܥܵܐ ܕܚܸܟ݂ܡ̱ܬ̣ܵܐ.
[5]It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to overthrow the righteous in judgment. [5]ܠܡܸܟܲܒ̣ ܒܐܲܦܹ̈ܐ ܕܥܵܘܿܠܵܐ: ܠܵܐ ܫܲܦܝܼܪ: ܐܵܦܠܵܐ ܠܡܸܨܠܵܐ ܕܝܼܢܵܐ ܥܲܠ ܙܲܕ̇ܝܼܩܵܐ.
[6]A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes. [6]ܣܸܦ̈ܘܵܬܹܗ ܕܣܲܟ݂ܠܵܐ ܥܵܐ̈ܠܵܢ ܒܕ݂ܝܼܢܵܐ. ܘܦܘܼܡܹܗ ܡܡܲܛܹܐ ܠܹܗ ܠܡܵܘܬܵܐ.
[7]A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul. [7]ܦܘܼܡܹܗ ܕܣܲܟ݂ܠܵܐ ܬܒ̣ܵܪܵܐ ܗ̄ܘܼ ܠܢܲܦ̮ܫܹܗ: ܘܲܒ̣ܣܸܦ̈ܘܵܬܹܗ ܨܵܐܹ̇ܕ݂ ܢܲܦ̮ܫܹܗ.
[8]The words of a tale-bearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly. [8]ܡܸܠܵܘ̈ܗܝ ܕܲܚܒܸܢܵܢܵܐ ܪ̈ܵܡܝܵܢ ܠܹܗ ܒܒ̣ܝܼܫܬܵܐ. ܘܗܸܢܹܝܢ ܡܲܚ̈ܬ̣ܵܢ ܠܹܗ ܠܬ̣ܵܘܵܢܹ̈ܐ ܕܲܫܝܘܿܠ.
[9]He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster. [9]ܘܐܲܝܢܵܐ ܕܲܡܪܲܦܹܐ ܐܝܼܕ݂ܵܘ̈ܗܝ ܒܲܥܒ̣ܵܕܹ̇ܗ: ܐܲܚܝܼܘܗܝ ܗ̄ܘܼ ܕܓܲܒ̣ܪܵܐ ܡܚܲܒ̇ܠܵܢܵܐ.
[10]The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. [10]ܡܲܓ̣ܕ̇ܠܵܐ ܗ̄ܘܼ ܥܲܫܝܼܢܵܐ ܫܡܹܗ ܕܡܵܪܝܵܐ. ܘܠܹܗ ܢܸܪܗܲܛ ܙܲܕ̇ܝܼܩܵܐ ܘܥܲܫܝܼܢܵܐ.
[11]The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as a high wall in his own conceit. [11]ܐܝܼܩܵܪܵܐ ܘܥܘܼܬ̣ܪܵܐ ܡܕ݂ܝܼܢ̄ܬܵܐ ܕܥܘܼܫܢܹܗ. ܘܲܒ̣ܫܘܼܪܵܐ ܥܲܫܝܼܢܵܐ ܡܲܫ̱ܪܝܹܗ.
[12]Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honor is humility. [12]ܩܕ݂ܵܡ ܬܒ̣ܵܪܵܐ ܢܸܬ̇ܬ̇ܪܝܼܡ ܠܸܒܹ̇ܗ ܕܓܲܒ̣ܪܵܐ. ܘܲܩܕ݂ܵܡ ܐܝܼܩܵܪܵܐ ܡܘܼܟܵܟ݂ܵܐ.
[13]He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame to him. [13]ܕܝܵܗܹ̇ܒ̣ ܦܸܬ̣ܓ̣ܵܡܵܐ ܥܲܕ݂ܠܵܐ ܢܸܫܡܲܥ: ܣܲܟ݂ܠܵܐ ܗ̄ܘܼ ܘܲܡܚܲܣܕ݂ܵܐ.
[14]The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear? [14]ܪܘܼܚܹܗ ܕܓܲܒ̣ܪܵܐ ܡܣܲܝܒ̇ܪܵܐ ܚܲܫܹܗ. ܘܪܘܼܚܵܐ ܡܲܟ݂ܐܲܒ̣ܬܵܐ ܡ̇ܢ ܢܣܲܝܒ̇ܪܝܼܗ̇.
[15]The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge. [15]ܠܸܒܵܐ ܬܲܩܢܵܐ ܩܵܢܹ̇ܐ ܚܸܟ݂ܡ̱ܬ̣ܵܐ. ܘܐܸܕ݂ܢܵܐ ܚܲܟ̇ܝܼܡܬܵܐ ܨܵܝ̇ܬܵܐ ܝܼܕܲܥܬ̣ܵܐ.
[16]A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men. [16]ܡܵܘܗ̈ܒ̣ܵܬ̣ܵܐ ܕܒܲܪܢܵܫܵܐ ܡܲܪ̈ܘ̱ܚܵܢ ܠܹܗ. ܘܲܩܕ݂ܵܡ ܪܵܘ̱ܪ̈ܒ̣ܵܢܹܐ ܡܩܝܼ̈ܡܵܢ ܠܹܗ.
[17]He that is first in his own cause seemeth just; but his neighbor cometh and searcheth him. [17]ܙܲܟܵܝ ܗ̄ܘܼ ܒܲܪܢܵܫܵܐ ܒܕ݂ܝܼܢܹܗ. ܘܡܵܐ ܕܐܸܬ̣ܵܐ ܚܲܒ̣ܪܹܗ: ܒܵܕܹ̇ܩ ܠܹܗ.
[18]The lot causeth contentions to cease, and parteth between the mighty. [18]ܦܸܨܬ̣ܵܐ ܫܵܪܝܵܐ ܚܸܪܝܵܢܵܐ. ܘܒܲܝܢܵܬ̣ ܥܲܫܝܼܢܹ̈ܐ ܦܵܪܫܵܐ.
[19]A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle. [19]ܐܲܚܵܐ ܕܡܸܬ̣ܥܲܕܲܪ ܡ̣ܢ ܐܲܚܘܼܗܝ: ܐܲܝܟ݂ ܡܕ݂ܝܼܢ̄ܬܵܐ ܡ̣ܢ ܚܸܣܢܵܗ̇. ܘܐܲܚܵܕܹ̈ܝܗ̇ ܐܲܝܟ݂ ܣܘܼܟ̇ܪܵܐ ܕܚܸܣܢܵܐ.
[20]A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. [20]ܘܡ̣ܢ ܦܹܐܪ̈ܲܝ ܦܘܼܡܹܗ ܕܓܲܒ̣ܪܵܐ ܬܸܣܒܲܥ ܟܲܪܣܹܗ. ܘܥܲܠ̈ܠܵܬ̣ܵܐ ܕܣܸܦ̈ܘܵܬܹܗ ܢܸܣܒܲܥ.
[21]Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit of it. [21]ܡܵܘܬܵܐ ܘܚܲܝܹ̈ܐ ܒܝܲܕ݂ ܠܸܫܵܢܵܐ ܗ̄ܘܼ. ܘܲܕ݂ܪܵܚܹ̇ܡ ܠܹܗ: ܢܹܐܟ݂ܘܿܠ ܡ̣ܢ ܦܹܐܪ̈ܵܘܗܝ.
[22]Whoever findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favor from the LORD. [22]ܕܡܸܫܟܲܚ ܐܲܢ̄ܬ̇ܬ̣ܵܐ ܛܵܒ̣ܬ̣ܵܐ: ܡܸܫܟܲܚ ܛܵܒ̣ܬܵܐ. ܘܲܡܩܲܒܸ̇ܠ ܨܸܒ̣ܝܵܢܵܐ ܡ̣ܢ ܡܵܪܝܵܐ ܘܲܕ݂ܡܲܦܸܩ ܐܲܢ̄ܬ̇ܬ̣ܵܐ ܛܵܒ̣ܬ̣ܵܐ: ܡܲܦܸܩ ܛܵܒ̣ܬ̣ܵܐ ܡ̣ܢ ܒܲܝܬܹ̇ܗ.
[23]The poor useth entreaties; but the rich answereth roughly. [23]ܡܸܣܟܹ̇ܢܵܐ ܡܡܲܠܸܠ ܪ̈ܲܟ̇ܝܼܟ݂ܵܬ̣ܵܐ. ܘܥܲܬ̇ܝܼܪܵܐ ܡܡܲܠܸܠ ܥܲܫܝܼ̈ܢܵܬ̣ܵܐ.
[24]A man that hath friends must show himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. [24]ܐܝܼܬ̣ ܪ̈ܵܚ̇ܡܹܐ ܕܪ̈ܵܚܡܹܐ ܐܸܢܘܿܢ. ܘܐܝܼܬ̣ ܪܵܚ̇ܡܵܐ ܕܢܵܦܹ̇ܩ ܝܲܬ̇ܝܼܪ ܡ̣ܢ ܐܲܚܵܐ.
