[1]My son, forget not my teaching; but let thy heart keep my commandments; [1]My son, forget not thou my law, but let thine heart keep my commandments.
[2]For length of days, and years of life, and peace, will they add to thee. [2]For they shall increase the length of thy days and the years of life, and thy prosperity.
[3]Let not kindness and truth forsake thee; bind them about thy neck, write them upon the table of thy heart; [3]Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them on thy neck, and write them upon the table of thine heart.
[4]So shalt thou find grace and good favour in the sight of God and man. [4]So shalt thou find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
[5]Trust in ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ with all thy heart, and lean not upon thine own understanding. [5]Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own wisdom.
[6]In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct thy paths. [6]In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy ways.
[7]Be not wise in thine own eyes; fear ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎, and depart from evil; [7]Be not wise in thine own eyes: but fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
[8]It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. [8]So health shall be unto thy navel, and marrow unto thy bones.
[9]Honour ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ with thy substance, and with the first-fruits of all thine increase; [9]Honor the Lord with thy riches, and with the first fruits of all thine increase.
[10]So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy vats shall overflow with new wine. [10]So shall thy barns be filled with abundance, and thy presses shall burst with new wine.
[11]My son, despise not the chastening of ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎, neither spurn thou His correction; [11]My son, refuse not the chastening of the Lord, neither be grieved with his correction.
[12]For whom ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ loveth H correcteth, even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. [12]For the Lord correcteth him, whom he loveth, even as the father doth the child in whom he delighteth.
[13]Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that obtaineth understanding. [13]Blessed is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
[14]For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. [14]For the merchandise thereof is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof is better than gold.
[15]She is more precious than rubies; and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. [15]It is more precious than pearls: and all things that thou canst desire, are not to be compared unto her.
[16]Length of days is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honour. [16]Length of days is in her right hand, and in her left hand riches and glory.
[17]Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. [17]Her ways are ways of pleasure, and all her paths prosperity.
[18]She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her, and happy is every one that holdest her fast. [18]She is a tree of life to them that lay hold on her, and blessed is he that retaineth her.
[19]‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding He established the heavens. [19]The Lord by wisdom hath laid the foundation of the earth, and hath stablished the heavens through understanding.
[20]By His knowledge the depths were broken up, and the skies drop down the dew. [20]By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.
[21]My son, let not them depart from thine eyes; keep sound wisdom and discretion; [21]My son, let not these things depart from thine eyes, but observe wisdom, and counsel.
[22]So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck. [22]So they shall be life to thy soul, and grace unto thy neck.
[23]Then shalt thou walk in thy way securely, and thou shalt not dash thy foot. [23]Then shalt thou walk safely by thy way: and thy foot shall not stumble.
[24]When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid; yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet. [24]If thou sleepest, thou shalt not be afraid, and when thou sleepest, thy sleep shall be sweet.
[25]Be not afraid of sudden terror, neither of the destruction of the wicked, when it cometh; [25]Thou shalt not fear for any sudden fear, neither for the destruction of the wicked, when it cometh.
[26]For ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ will be thy confidence, and will keep thy foot from being caught. [26]For the Lord shall be for thine assurance, and shall preserve thy foot from taking.
[27]Withhold not good from him to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thy hand to do it. [27]Withhold not the good from the owners thereof, though there be power in thine hand to do it.
[28]Say not unto thy neighbour: 'Go, and come again, and to-morrow I will give'; when thou hast it by thee. [28]Say not unto thy neighbor, Go and come again, and tomorrow will I give thee, if thou now have it.
[29]Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee. [29]Intend none hurt against thy neighbor, seeing he doth dwell without fear by thee.
[30]Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm. [30]Strive not with a man causeless, when he hath done thee no harm.
[31]Envy thou not the man of violence, and choose none of his ways. [31]Be not envious for the wicked man, neither choose any of his ways.
[32]For the perverse is an abomination to ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎; but His counsel is with the upright. [32]For the froward is abomination unto the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous.
[33]The curse of ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ is in the house of the wicked; but He blesseth the habitation of the righteous. [33]The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the righteous.
[34]If it concerneth the scorners, He scorneth them, but unto the humble He giveth grace. [34]With the scornful he scorneth, but he giveth grace unto the humble.
[35]The wise shall inherit honour; but as for the fools, they carry away shame. [35]The wise shall inherit glory: but fools dishonor, though they be exalted.
