[1]'O give thanks unto ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎, for He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever.' [1]Praise the Lord, because he is good: for his mercy endureth forever.
[2]So let the redeemed of ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ say, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the adversary; [2]Let them, which have been redeemed of the Lord, show how he hath delivered them from the hand of the oppressor,
[3]And gathered them out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the sea. [3]And gathered them out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.
[4]They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way; they found no city of habitation. [4]When they wandered in the desert and wilderness out of the way, and found no city to dwell in,
[5]Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. [5]Both hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.
[6]Then they cried unto ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses. [6]Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress,
[7]And He led them by a straight way, that they might go to a city of habitation. [7]And led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.
[8]Let them give thanks unto ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! [8]Let them therefore confess before the Lord his loving kindness, and his wonderful works before the sons of men.
[9]For He hath satisfied the longing soul, and the hungry soul He hath filled with good. [9]For he satisfied the thirsty soul, and filled the hungry soul with goodness.
[10]Such as sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron— [10]They that dwell in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in misery and iron,
[11]Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the Most High. [11]Because they rebelled against the words of the Lord, and despised the counsel of the Most High,
[12]Therefore He humbled their heart with travail, they stumbled, and there was none to help— [12]When he humbled their heart with heaviness, then they fell down and there was no helper.
[13]They cried unto ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses. [13]Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.
[14]He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands in sunder. [14]He brought them out of darkness, and out of the shadow of death, and brake their bands asunder.
[15]Let them give thanks unto ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! [15]Let them therefore confess before the Lord his loving kindness, and his wonderful works before the sons of men.
[16]For He hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder. [16]For he hath broken the gates of brass, and burst the bars of iron asunder.
[17]Crazed because of the way of their transgression, and afflicted because of their iniquities— [17]Fools by reason of their transgression, and because of their iniquities are afflicted.
[18]Their soul abhorred all manner of food, and they drew near unto the gates of death— [18]Their soul abhorreth all meat, and they are brought to death's door.
[19]They cried unto ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses; [19]Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivereth them from their distress.
[20]He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their graves. [20]He sendeth his word and healeth them, and delivereth them from their graves.
[21]Let them give thanks unto ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! [21]Let them therefore confess before the Lord his loving kindness, and his wonderful works before the sons of men,
[22]And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with singing. [22]And let them offer sacrifices of praise, and declare his works with rejoicing.
[23]They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters— [23]They that go down to the sea in ships, and occupy by the great waters,
[24]These saw the works of ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎, and His wonders in the deep; [24]They see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep.
[25]For He commanded, and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves thereof; [25]For he commandeth and raiseth the stormy wind, and it lifteth up the waves thereof.
[26]They mounted up to the heaven, they went down to the deeps; their soul melted away because of trouble; [26]They mount up to the heaven, and descend to the deep, so that their soul melteth for trouble.
[27]They reeled to and fro, and staggered like a drunken man, and all their wisdom was swallowed up— [27]They are tossed to and from, and stagger like a drunken man, and all their cunning is gone.
[28]They cried unto ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ in their trouble, and He brought them out of their distresses. [28]Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble , and he bringeth them out of their distress.
[29]He made the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof were still. [29]He turneth the storm to calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
[30]Then were they glad because they were quiet, and He led them unto their desired haven. [30]When they are quieted, they are glad, and he bringeth them unto the haven, where they would be.
[31]Let them give thanks unto ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! [31]Let them therefore confess before the Lord his loving kindness, and his wonderful works before the sons of men.
[32]Let them exalt Him also in the assembly of the people, and praise Him in the seat of the elders. [32]And let them exalt him in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.
[33]He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and watersprings into a thirsty ground; [33]He turneth the floods into a wilderness, and the springs of waters into dryness,
[34]A fruitful land into a salt waste, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein. [34]And a fruitful land into barrenness for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.
[35]He turneth a wilderness into a pool of water, and a dry land into watersprings. [35]Again he turneth the wilderness into pools of water, and the dry land into water springs.
[36]And there He maketh the hungry to dwell, and they establish a city of habitation; [36]And there he placeth the hungry, and they build a city to dwell in,
[37]And sow fields, and plant vineyards, which yield fruits of increase. [37]And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which bring forth fruitful increase.
[38]He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly, and suffereth not their cattle to decrease. [38]For he blesseth them, and they multiply exceedingly, and he diminisheth not their cattle.
[39]Again, they are minished and dwindle away through oppression of evil and sorrow. [39]Again men are diminished, and brought low by oppression, evil and sorrow.
[40]He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the waste, where there is no way. [40]He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to err in desert places out of the way.
[41]Yet setteth He the needy on high from affliction, and maketh his families like a flock. [41]Yet he raiseth up the poor out of misery, and maketh him families like a flock of sheep.
[42]The upright see it, and are glad; and all iniquity stoppeth her mouth. [42]The righteous shall see it, and rejoice, and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.
[43]Whoso is wise, let him observe these things, and let them consider the mercies of ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎. [43]Who is wise that he may observe these things? For they shall understand the loving kindness of the Lord.
