[1]שִׁיר הַמַּעֲלֹות לְדָוִד שָׂמַחְתִּי בְּאֹמְרִים לִי בֵּית יְהוָה נֵלֵךְ׃ [1]The `title of the hundrid and two and twentithe salm. `The song of grecis. To thee Y haue reisid myn iyen; that dwellist in heuenes.
[2]עֹמְדֹות הָיוּ רַגְלֵינוּ בִּשְׁעָרַיִךְ יְרוּשָׁלִָם׃ [2]Lo! as the iyen of seruauntis; ben in the hondis of her lordis. As the iyen of the handmaide ben in the hondis of her ladi; so oure iyen ben to oure Lord God, til he haue mercy on vs.
[3]יְרוּשָׁלִַם הַבְּנוּיָה כְּעִיר שֶׁחֻבְּרָה־לָּהּ יַחְדָּו׃ [3]Lord, haue thou merci on vs, haue thou merci on vs; for we ben myche fillid with dispisyng.
[4]שֶׁשָּׁם עָלוּ שְׁבָטִים שִׁבְטֵי־יָהּ עֵדוּת לְיִשְׂרָאֵל לְהֹדֹות לְשֵׁם יְהוָה׃ [4]For oure soule is myche fillid; we ben schenschipe to hem that ben abundaunte with richessis, and dispising to proude men.
[5]כִּי שָׁמָּה יָשְׁבוּ כִסְאֹות לְמִשְׁפָּט כִּסְאֹות לְבֵית דָּוִיד׃ 5[No verse]
[6]שַׁאֲלוּ שְׁלֹום יְרוּשָׁלִָם יִשְׁלָיוּ אֹהֲבָיִךְ׃ 6[No verse]
[7]יְהִי־שָׁלֹום בְּחֵילֵךְ שַׁלְוָה בְּאַרְמְנֹותָיִךְ׃ 7[No verse]
[8]לְמַעַן אַחַי וְרֵעָי אֲדַבְּרָה־נָּא שָׁלֹום בָּךְ׃ 8[No verse]
[9]לְמַעַן בֵּית־יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ אֲבַקְשָׁה טֹוב לָךְ׃ 9[No verse]
