| [1]שִׁ֥יר הַֽמַּעֲלֹ֗ות לְדָ֫וִ֥ד מַחְתִּי בְּאֹמְרִ֣ים לִ֑י בֵּ֖ית יְהוָ֣ה נֵלֵֽךְ׃ |
[1]I WAS glad when they said to me, Let us go to the house of the LORD. |
| [2]עֹ֭מְדֹות הָי֣וּ רַגְלֵ֑ינוּ בִּ֝שְׁעָרַ֗יִךְ יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ |
[2]My feet shall stand within your gates, O Jerusalem. |
| [3]יְרוּשָׁלִַ֥ם הַבְּנוּיָ֑ה כְּ֝עִ֗יר שֶׁחֻבְּרָה־לָּ֥הּ יַחְדָּֽו׃ |
[3]Jerusalem is built like a city that is surrounded by a wall, |
| [4]שֶׁשָּׁ֨ם עָל֪וּ שְׁבָטִ֡ים שִׁבְטֵי־יָ֭הּ עֵד֣וּת לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל לְ֝הֹדֹ֗ות לְשֵׁ֣ם יְהוָֽה׃ |
[4]Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, to the testimony of Israel, to give thanks to the name of the LORD. |
| [5]כִּ֤י שָׁ֨מָּה ׀ יָשְׁב֣וּ כִסְאֹ֣ות לְמִשְׁפָּ֑ט כִּ֝סְאֹ֗ות לְבֵ֣ית דָּוִֽיד׃ |
[5]For there are thrones of judgment set, the thrones of the house of David. |
| [6]אֲלוּ שְׁלֹ֣ום יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם יִ֝שְׁלָ֗יוּ אֹהֲבָֽיִךְ׃ |
[6]Greet Jerusalem with peace; they shall prosper who love you. |
| [7]יְהִֽי־שָׁלֹ֥ום בְּחֵילֵ֑ךְ לְוָ֗ה בְּאַרְמְנֹותָֽיִךְ׃ |
[7]Peace be within your walls and prosperity within your palaces. |
| [8]לְ֭מַעַן אַחַ֣י וְרֵעָ֑י אֲדַבְּרָה־נָּ֖א שָׁלֹ֣ום בָּֽךְ׃ |
[8]For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within you. |
| [9]לְ֭מַעַן בֵּית־יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ אֲבַקְשָׁ֖ה טֹ֣וב לָֽךְ׃ |
[9]For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your good. |
