| [1]עַ֥ל נַהֲרֹ֨ות ׀ בָּבֶ֗ל שָׁ֣ם יָ֭שַׁבְנוּ גַּם־בָּכִ֑ינוּ בְּ֝זָכְרֵ֗נוּ אֶת־צִיֹּֽון׃ |
[1]By the rivers of Babylon we sat, and there we wept, when we remembered Zion. |
| [2]עַֽל־עֲרָבִ֥ים בְּתֹוכָ֑הּ תָּ֝לִ֗ינוּ כִּנֹּרֹותֵֽינוּ׃ |
[2]We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof. |
| [3]כִּ֤י שָׁ֨ם שְֽׁאֵל֪וּנוּ שֹׁובֵ֡ינוּ דִּבְרֵישִׁ֭־יר וְתֹולָלֵ֣ינוּ שִׂמְחָ֑ה שִׁ֥ירוּ לָ֝֗נוּ מִשִּׁ֥יר צִיֹּֽון׃ |
[3]Then they that led us captives, required of us songs and mirth, when we had hanged up our harps, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion. |
| [4]אֵ֗יךְ נָשִׁ֥יר אֶת־שִׁיר־יְהוָ֑ה עַ֝֗ל אַדְמַ֥ת נֵכָֽר׃ |
[4]How shall we sing, said we, a song of the Lord in a strange land? |
| [5]אִֽם־אֶשְׁכָּחֵ֥ךְ יְֽרוּשָׁלִָ֗ם תִּשְׁכַּ֥ח יְמִינִֽי׃ |
[5]If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget to play. |
| [6]תִּדְבַּ֥ק־לְשֹׁונִ֨י ׀ לְחִכִּי֮ אִם־לֹ֪א אֶ֫זְכְּרֵ֥כִי אִם־לֹ֣א אַ֭עֲלֶה אֶת־יְרוּשָׁלִַ֑ם עַ֝֗ל רֹ֣אשׁ שִׂמְחָתִֽי׃ |
[6]If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth: yea, if I prefer not Jerusalem to my chief joy. |
| [7]זְכֹ֤ר יְהוָ֨ה ׀ לִבְנֵ֬י אֱדֹ֗ום אֵת֮ יֹ֤ום יְֽרוּשָׁ֫לִָ֥ם הָ֭אֹ֣מְרִים עָ֤רוּ ׀ עָ֑רוּ עַ֝֗ד הַיְסֹ֥וד בָּֽהּ׃ |
[7]Remember the children of Edom, O Lord, in the day of Jerusalem, which said, Rase it, rase it to the foundation thereof. |
| [8]בַּת־בָּבֶ֗ל הַשְּׁד֫וּדָ֥ה אַשְׁרֵ֥י שֶׁיְשַׁלֶּם־לָ֑ךְ אֶת־גְּ֝מוּלֵ֗ךְ שֶׁגָּמַ֥לְתְּ לָֽנוּ׃ |
[8]O daughter of Babylon, worthy to be destroyed, blessed shall he be that rewardeth thee, as thou hast served us. |
| [9]אַשְׁרֵ֤י ׀ שֶׁיֹּאחֵ֓ז וְנִפֵּ֬ץ אֶֽת־עֹ֝לָלַ֗יִךְ אֶל־הַסָּֽלַע׃ |
[9]Blessed shall he be that taketh and dasheth thy children against the stones. |
