[[To him that excelleth upon Aiieleth Hasshahar.] A Psalm Chapter of David.]
[1]To the chief MusicianH5329[H8764] upon AijelethH365 ShaharH7837, A PsalmH4210 of DavidH1732. My GodH410, my GodH410, why hast thou forsakenH5800[H8804] me? why art thou so farH7350 from helpingH3444 me, and from the wordsH1697 of my roaringH7581? [1]My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me, and art so far from mine health , and from the words of my roaring?
[2]O my GodH430, I cryH7121[H8799] in the daytimeH3119, but thou hearestH6030[H8799] not; and in the night seasonH3915, and am not silentH1747. [2]O my God, I cry by day, but thou hearest not, and by night, but have no audience.
[3]But thou art holyH6918, O thou that inhabitestH3427[H8802] the praisesH8416 of IsraelH3478. [3]But thou art holy, and dost inhabit the praises of Israel.
[4]Our fathersH1 trustedH982[H8804] in thee: they trustedH982[H8804], and thou didst deliverH6403 themH8762. [4]Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.
[5]They criedH2199[H8804] unto thee, and were deliveredH4422[H8738]: they trustedH982[H8804] in thee, and were not confoundedH954.[H8804] [5]They called upon thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.
[6]But I am a wormH8438, and no manH376; a reproachH2781 of menH120, and despisedH959[H8803] of the peopleH5971. [6]But I am a worm, and not a man: a shame of men, and the contempt of the people.
[7]All they that seeH7200[H8802] me laugh me to scornH3932[H8686]: they shoot outH6358[H8686] the lipH8193, they shakeH5128[H8686] the head, sayingH7218, [7]All they that see me, have me in derision: they make a mow and nod the head, saying,
[8]He trustedH1556[H8800] on the LORDH3068 that he would deliverH6403[H8762] him: let him deliverH5337[H8686] him, seeing he delightedH2654 in himH8804. [8]He trusted in the Lord, let him deliver him: let him save him, seeing he loveth him.
[9]But thou art he that tookH1518[H8801] me out of the wombH990: thou didst make me hopeH982[H8688] when I was upon my mother'sH517 breastsH7699. [9]But thou didst draw me out of the womb: thou gavest me hope, even at my mother's breasts.
[10]I was castH7993[H8717] upon thee from the wombH7358: thou art my GodH410 from my mother'sH517 bellyH990. [10]I was cast upon thee, even from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly.
[11]Be not farH7368[H8799] from me; for troubleH6869 is nearH7138; for there is none to helpH5826.[H8802] [11]Be not far from me, because trouble is near: for there is none to help me.
[12]ManyH7227 bullsH6499 have compassedH5437[H8804] me: strongH47 bulls of BashanH1316 have beset me roundH3803.[H8765] [12]Many young bulls have compassed me: mighty bulls of Bashan have closed me about.
[13]They gapedH6475[H8804] upon me with their mouthsH6310, as a raveningH2963[H8802] and a roaringH7580[H8802] lionH738. [13]They gape upon me with their mouths, as a ramping and roaring lion.
[14]I am poured outH8210[H8738] like waterH4325, and all my bonesH6106 are out of jointH6504[H8694]: my heartH3820 is like waxH1749; it is meltedH4549[H8738] in the midstH8432 of my bowelsH4578. [14]I am like water poured out, and all my bones are out of joint: mine heart is like wax: it is molten in the midst of my bowels.
[15]My strengthH3581 is dried upH3001[H8804] like a potsherdH2789; and my tongueH3956 cleavethH1692[H8716] to my jawsH4455; and thou hast broughtH8239[H8799] me into the dustH6083 of deathH4194. [15]strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws, and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.
[16]For dogsH3611 have compassedH5437[H8804] me: the assemblyH5712 of the wickedH7489[H8688] have inclosedH5362[H8689] me: they piercedH3738[H8804][H8675][H738] my handsH3027 and my feetH7272. [16]For dogs have compassed me, and the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me: they pierced mine hands and my feet.
[17]I may tellH5608[H8762] all my bonesH6106: they lookH5027[H8686] and stareH7200 upon meH8799. [17]I may tell all my bones: yet they behold, and look upon me.
[18]They partH2505[H8762] my garmentsH899 among them, and castH5307[H8686] lotsH1486 upon my vestureH3830. [18]They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
[19]But be not thou farH7368[H8799] from me, O LORDH3068: O my strengthH360, hasteH2363[H8798] thee to help meH5833. [19]But be not thou far off, O Lord, my strength: hasten to help me.
[20]DeliverH5337[H8685] my soulH5315 from the swordH2719; my darlingH3173 from the powerH3027 of the dogH3611. [20]Deliver my soul from the sword: my desolate soul from the power of the dog.
[21]SaveH3467[H8685] me from the lion'sH738 mouthH6310: for thou hast heardH6030[H8804] me from the hornsH7161 of the unicornsH7214. [21]Save me from the lion's mouth, and answer me in saving me from the horns of the unicorns.
[22]I will declareH5608[H8762] thy nameH8034 unto my brethrenH251: in the midstH8432 of the congregationH6951 will I praiseH1984 theeH8762. [22]I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee, saying,
[23]Ye that fearH3373 the LORDH3068, praiseH1984[H8761] him; all ye the seedH2233 of JacobH3290, glorifyH3513[H8761] him; and fearH1481[H8798] him, all ye the seedH2233 of IsraelH3478. [23]Praise the Lord, ye that fear him: magnify ye him, all the seed of Jacob, and fear ye him, all the seed of Israel.
[24]For he hath not despisedH959[H8804] nor abhorredH8262[H8765] the afflictionH6039 of the afflictedH6041; neither hath he hidH5641[H8689] his faceH6440 from him; but when he criedH7768[H8763] unto him, he heardH8085.[H8804] [24]For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the poor: neither hath he hid his face from him, but when he called unto him, he heard.
[25]My praiseH8416 shall be of thee in the greatH7227 congregationH6951: I will payH7999[H8762] my vowsH5088 before them that fear himH3373. [25]My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: my vows will I perform before them that fear him.
[26]The meekH6035 shall eatH398[H8799] and be satisfiedH7646[H8799]: they shall praiseH1984[H8762] the LORDH3068 that seekH1875[H8802] him: your heartH3824 shall liveH2421[H8799] for everH5703. [26]The poor shall eat and be satisfied: they that seek after the Lord, shall praise him: your heart shall live forever.
[27]All the endsH657 of the worldH776 shall rememberH2142[H8799] and turnH7725[H8799] unto the LORDH3068: and all the kindredsH4940 of the nationsH1471 shall worshipH7812[H8691] before theeH6440. [27]All the ends of the world shall remember themselves, and turn to the Lord: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.
[28]For the kingdomH4410 is the LORD'SH3068: and he is the governorH4910[H8802] among the nationsH1471. [28]For the kingdom is the Lord's, and he ruleth among the nations.
[29]All they that be fatH1879 upon earthH776 shall eatH398[H8804] and worshipH7812[H8691]: all they that go downH3381[H8802] to the dustH6083 shall bowH3766[H8799] beforeH6440 him: and none can keep aliveH2421[H8765] his own soulH5315. [29]All they that be fat in the earth, shall eat and worship: all they that go down into the dust, shall bow before him, even he that cannot quicken his own soul.
[30]A seedH2233 shall serveH5647[H8799] him; it shall be accountedH5608[H8792] to the LordH136 for a generationH1755. [30]Their seed shall serve him: it shall be counted unto the Lord for a generation.
[31]They shall comeH935[H8799], and shall declareH5046[H8686] his righteousnessH6666 unto a peopleH5971 that shall be bornH3205[H8737], that he hath doneH6213 thisH8804. [31]They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, because he hath done it.
