Peshitta (Lamsa, 1933)
Pes(Lam)
[1]A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son. [1]O LORD, how my oppressors are increased! Many are they that rise up against me.
[2]‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎, how many are mine adversaries become! Many are they that rise up against me. [2]Many there are that say to my soul, You have no salvation in your God.
[3]Many there are that say of my soul: 'There is no salvation for him in God.' Selah [3]But thou, O LORD, art my help and my glory, and the lifter up of my head.
[4]But thou, O ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎, art a shield about me; my glory, and the lifter up of my head. [4]I have cried to the LORD with my voice, and he has answered me from his holy mountain.
[5]With my voice I call unto ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎, and He answereth me out of His holy mountain. Selah [5]I lay down and slept; and I awoke; for the LORD sustained me.
[6]I lay me down, and I sleep; I awake, for ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ sustaineth me. [6]I will not be afraid of thousands of people that have surrounded me and set themselves against me.
[7]I am not afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about. [7]Arise, O LORD my God, and save me; for thou hast smitten all my enemies upon their cheeks; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.
[8]Arise, O ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎; save me, O my God; for Thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek, Thou hast broken the teeth of the wicked. [8]For salvation belongs to the LORD; and thy blessing is upon thy people.
[9]Salvation belongeth unto ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎; Thy blessing be upon Thy people. Selah 9[No verse]
