[1] O God our Lorde, howe excellent is thy name in all the earth? for that thou hast set thy glory aboue the heauens [1]To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of David. O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
[2]Out of the mouth of very babes and sucklinges thou hast layde the foundation of thy strength for thyne aduersaries sake: that thou mightest styll the enemie and the auenger [2]Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thy enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
[3]For I will consider thy heauens, euen the workes of thy fingers: the moone and the starres whiche thou hast ordayned [3]When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers; the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
[4]What is man that thou art myndfull of him? and the sonne of man that thou visitest hym [4]What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
[5]Thou hast made hym somthyng inferiour to angels: thou hast crowned him with glory and worship [5]For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honor.
[6]Thou makest hym to haue dominion of the workes of thy handes: and thou hast put all thinges [in subiection] vnder his feete [6]Thou hast made him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
[7](8:7a) All sheepe and oxen, & also the beastes of the fielde [7]All sheep and oxen, yes, and the beasts of the field;
[8](8:7b) the foules of the ayre, and the fishe of the sea, and whatsoeuer swymmeth in the seas [8]The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatever passeth through the paths of the seas.
[9](8:8) O God our Lorde: howe excellent great is thy name in all the earth [9]O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
