| [1]LORD, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. |
[1]αἶνος ᾠδῆς τῷ δαυιδ ὁ κατοικῶν ἐν βοηθείᾳ τοῦ ὑψίστου ἐν σκέπῃ τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ αὐλισθήσεται |
| [2]Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. |
[2]ἐρεῖ τῷ κυρίῳ ἀντιλήμπτωρ μου εἶ καὶ καταφυγή μου ὁ θεός μου ἐλπιῶ ἐπ αὐτόν |
| [3]Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men. |
[3]ὅτι αὐτὸς ῥύσεταί με ἐκ παγίδος θηρευτῶν καὶ ἀπὸ λόγου ταραχώδους |
| [4]For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. |
[4]ἐν τοῖς μεταφρένοις αὐτοῦ ἐπισκιάσει σοι καὶ ὑπὸ τὰς πτέρυγας αὐτοῦ ἐλπιεῖς ὅπλῳ κυκλώσει σε ἡ ἀλήθεια αὐτοῦ |
| [5]The span of their life will be as a sleep; in the morning they are like grass which changes. |
[5]οὐ φοβηθήσῃ ἀπὸ φόβου νυκτερινοῦ ἀπὸ βέλους πετομένου ἡμέρας |
| [6]In the morning it flourishes and grows up; in the evening it is cut down and withers. |
[6]ἀπὸ πράγματος διαπορευομένου ἐν σκότει ἀπὸ συμπτώματος καὶ δαιμονίου μεσημβρινοῦ |
| [7]For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled. |
[7]πεσεῖται ἐκ τοῦ κλίτους σου χιλιὰς καὶ μυριὰς ἐκ δεξιῶν σου πρὸς σὲ δὲ οὐκ ἐγγιεῖ |
| [8]Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, the sins of our youth in the light of thy countenance. |
[8]πλὴν τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς σου κατανοήσεις καὶ ἀνταπόδοσιν ἁμαρτωλῶν ὄψῃ |
| [9]For all our days are passed away in thy wrath; we spend our years in emptiness. |
[9]ὅτι σύ κύριε ἡ ἐλπίς μου τὸν ὕψιστον ἔθου καταφυγήν σου |
| [10]The years of our lives are threescore and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet most of them are labor and sorrow; for life is soon cut off and we fly away. |
[10]οὐ προσελεύσεται πρὸς σὲ κακά καὶ μάστιξ οὐκ ἐγγιεῖ τῷ σκηνώματί σου |
| [11]Who knows the power of thine anger and the fear of thy wrath? |
[11]ὅτι τοῖς ἀγγέλοις αὐτοῦ ἐντελεῖται περὶ σοῦ τοῦ διαφυλάξαι σε ἐν πάσαις ταῖς ὁδοῖς σου |
| [12]So teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts to wisdom. |
[12]ἐπὶ χειρῶν ἀροῦσίν σε μήποτε προσκόψῃς πρὸς λίθον τὸν πόδα σου |
| [13]Return, O LORD. How long? Wouldst thou not comfort thy servants? |
[13]ἐπ ἀσπίδα καὶ βασιλίσκον ἐπιβήσῃ καὶ καταπατήσεις λέοντα καὶ δράκοντα |
| [14]O satisfy us early with thy mercy, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. |
[14]ὅτι ἐπ ἐμὲ ἤλπισεν καὶ ῥύσομαι αὐτόν σκεπάσω αὐτόν ὅτι ἔγνω τὸ ὄνομά μου |
| [15]Make us glad because our wickedness is dead, and the years wherein we have seen affliction. |
[15]ἐπικαλέσεταί με καὶ εἰσακούσομαι αὐτοῦ μετ αὐτοῦ εἰμι ἐν θλίψει καὶ ἐξελοῦμαι καὶ δοξάσω αὐτόν |
| [16]Let thy work appear to thy servants, and thy glory to their children. |
[16]μακρότητα ἡμερῶν ἐμπλήσω αὐτὸν καὶ δείξω αὐτῷ τὸ σωτήριόν μου |
| [17]And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us; for the work of his hands made us, yea, he made us by the work of his hands. |
