[Praise of a Song, by David.]
[1]He that dwells in the help of the Highest, shall sojourn under the shelter of the God of heaven. [1]O thou that dwellest in the covert of the Most High, and abidest in the shadow of the Almighty;
[2]He shall say to the Lord, Thou art my helper and my refuge: my God; I will hope in him. [2]I will say of ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎, who is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust,
[3]For he shall deliver thee from the snare of the hunters, from every troublesome matter. [3]That He will deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
[4]He shall overshadow thee with his shoulders, and thou shalt trust under his wings: his truth shall cover thee with a shield. [4]He will cover thee with His pinions, and under His wings shalt thou take refuge; His truth is a shield and a buckler.
[5]Thou shalt not be afraid of terror by night; nor of the arrow flying by day; [5]Thou shalt not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flieth by day;
[6]nor of the evil thing that walks in darkness; nor of calamity, and the evil spirit at noon-day. [6]Of the pestilence that walketh in darkness, nor of the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
[7]A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. [7]A thousand may fall at Thy side, and ten thousand at Thy right hand; it shall not come nigh thee.
[8]Only with thine eyes shalt thou observe and see the reward of sinners. [8]Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold, and see the recompense of the wicked.
[9]For thou, O Lord, art my hope: thou, my soul, hast made the Most High thy refuge. [9]For thou hast made ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ who is my refuge, even the Most High, thy habitation.
[10]No evils shall come upon thee, and no scourge shall draw night to thy dwelling. [10]There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy tent.
[11]For he shall give his angels charge concerning thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. [11]For He will give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
[12]They shall bear thee up on their hands, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. [12]They shall bear thee upon their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
[13]Thou shalt tread on the asp and basilisk: and thou shalt trample on the lion and dragon. [13]Thou shalt tread upon the lion and asp; the young lion and the serpent shalt thou trample under feet.
[14]For he has hoped in me, and I will deliver him: I will protect him, because he has known my name. [14]'Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he hath known My name.
[15]He shall call upon me, and I will hearken to him: I am with him in affliction; and I will deliver him, and glorify him. [15]He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him, and bring him to honour.
[16]I will satisfy him with length of days, and shew him my salvation. [16]With long life will I satisfy him, and make Him to behold My salvation.'
