| [1]Καὶ εἶδον οὐρανὸν καινὸν καὶ γῆν καινήν· ὁ γὰρ πρῶτος οὐρανὸς καὶ ἡ πρώτη γῆ παρῆλθε, καὶ ἡ θάλασσα οὐκ ἔστιν ἔτι. |
[1]And I saw a new heaven, and a new earth: for the first heaven, and the first earth were passed away, and there was no more sea. |
| [2]καὶ ἐγὼ Ἰωάννης εἶδον τὴν πόλιν τὴν ἁγίαν Ἰερουσαλὴμ καινὴν, καταβαίνουσαν ἀπὸ τοῦ Θεοῦ ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ, ἡτοιμασμένην ὡς νύμφην κεκοσμημένην τῷ ἀνδρὶ αὐτῆς. |
[2]And I John saw the holy city new Jerusalem come down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride trimmed for her husband. |
| [3]καὶ ἤκουσα φωνῆς μεγάλης ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ, λεγούσης, Ἰδοὺ, ἡ σκηνὴ τοῦ Θεοῦ μετὰ τῶν ἀνθρώπων, καὶ σκηνώσει μετ’ αὐτῶν, καὶ αὐτοὶ λαοὶ αὐτοῦ ἔσονται, καὶ αὐτὸς ὁ Θεὸς ἔσται μετ’ αὐτῶν, Θεός αὐτῶν· |
[3]And I heard a great voice out of heaven, saying, Behold, the Tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them: and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be their God with them. |
| [4]καὶ ἐξαλείψει ὁ Θεὸς πᾶν δάκρυον ἀπὸ τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν αὐτῶν, καὶ ὁ θάνατος οὐκ ἔσται ἔτι· οὔτε πένθος, οὔτε κραυγὴ, οὔτε πόνος, οὐκ ἔσται ἔτι· ὅτι τὰ πρῶτα ἀπῆλθον. |
[4]And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes: and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, neither crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the first things are passed. |
| [5]καὶ εἶπεν ὁ καθήμενος ἐπὶ τοῦ θρόνου, Ἰδοὺ, καινὰ πάντα ποιῶ. καὶ λέγει μοι, Γράψον· ὅτι οὗτοι οἱ λόγοι ἀληθινοί καὶ πιστοὶ εἰσι. |
[5]And he that sat upon the throne, said, Behold, I make all things new: and he said unto me, Write: for these words are faithful and true. |
| [6]καὶ εἶπέ μοι, Γέγονε. ἐγώ εἰμι τὸ Α καὶ τὸ Ὦ, ἡ ἀρχὴ καὶ τὸ τέλος. ἐγὼ τῷ διψῶντι δώσω ἐκ τῆς πηγῆς τοῦ ὕδατος τῆς ζωῆς δωρεάν. |
[6]And he said unto me, It is done, I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to him that is athirst, of the well of the water of life freely. |
| [7]ὁ νικῶν κληρονομήσει πάντα, καὶ ἔσομαι αὐτῷ Θεὸς, καὶ αὐτὸς ἔσται μοι ὁ υἱός. |
[7]He that overcometh, shall inherit all things, and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. |
| [8]δειλοῖς δὲ καὶ ἀπίστοις καὶ ἐβδελυγμένοις καὶ φονεῦσι καὶ πόρνοις καὶ φαρμάκεῦσι καὶ εἰδωλολάτραις καὶ πᾶσι τοῖς ψευδέσι τὸ μέρος αὐτῶν ἐν τῇ λίμνῃ τῇ καιομένῃ πυρὶ καὶ θείῳ, ὅ ἐστι δεύτερος θάνατος. |
[8]But the fearful and unbelieving, and the abominable and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake, which burneth with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. |
| [9]Καὶ ἦλθε πρὸς με εἷς τῶν ἑπτὰ ἀγγέλων τῶν ἐχόντων τὰς ἑπτὰ φιάλας τὰς γεμούσας τῶν ἑπτὰ πληγῶν τῶν ἐσχάτων, καὶ ἐλάλησε μετ’ ἐμοῦ, λέγων, Δεῦρο, δείξω σοι τὴν νύμφην τοῦ ἀρνίου τὴν γυναῖκα. |
[9]And there came unto me one of the seven Angels, which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come: I will show thee the bride, the Lamb's wife. |
| [10]καὶ ἀπήνεγκέ με ἐν Πνεύματι ἐπ’ ὄρος μέγα καὶ ὑψηλόν, καὶ ἔδειξέ μοι τὴν πόλιν τὴν μεγάλην, τὴν ἁγίαν Ἰερουσαλὴμ, καταβαίνουσαν ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἀπὸ τοῦ Θεοῦ, |
[10]And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and an high mountain, and he showed me the great city, holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, |
| [11]ἔχουσαν τὴν δόξαν τοῦ Θεοῦ· καὶ ὁ φωστὴρ αὐτῆς ὅμοιος λίθῳ τιμιωτάτῳ ὡς λίθῳ ἰάσπιδι κρυσταλλίζοντι· |
[11]Having the glory of God: and her shining was like unto a stone most precious, as a Jasper stone clear as crystal, |
| [12]ἔχουσαν τε τεῖχος μέγα καὶ ὑψηλόν, ἔχουσαν πυλῶνας δώδεκα, καὶ ἐπὶ τοῖς πυλῶσιν ἀγγέλους δώδεκα, καὶ ὀνόματα ἐπιγεγραμμένα, ἅ ἐστι τῶν δώδεκα φυλῶν τῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ. |
[12]And had a great wall and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve Angels, and the names written, which are the twelve tribes of the children of Israel. |
| [13]ἀπ’ ἀνατολῆς πυλῶνες τρεῖς· ἀπὸ βοῤῥᾶ, πυλῶνες τρεῖς· ἀπὸ νότου, πυλῶνες τρεῖς· ἀπὸ δυσμῶν, πυλῶνες τρεῖς. |
[13]On the East part there were three gates, and on the North side three gates, on the South side three gates, and on the West side three gates. |
| [14]καὶ τὸ τεῖχος τῆς πόλεως ἔχον θεμελίους δώδεκα, καὶ ἐν αὐτοῖς ὀνόματα τῶν δώδεκα ἀποστόλων τοῦ ἀρνίου. |
[14]And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the Names of the Lamb's twelve Apostles. |
| [15]καὶ ὁ λαλῶν μετ’ ἐμοῦ εἶχε κάλαμον χρυσοῦν, ἵνα μετρήσῃ τὴν πόλιν, καὶ τοὺς πυλῶνας αὐτῆς, καὶ τὸ τεῖχος αὐτῆς. |
[15]And he that talked with me, had a golden reed to measure the city withal, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. |
| [16]καὶ ἡ πόλις τετράγωνος κεῖται, καὶ τὸ μῆκος αὐτῆς τοσοῦτόν ἐστιν ὅσον καὶ τὸ πλάτος. καὶ ἐμέτρησε τὴν πόλιν τῷ καλάμῳ ἐπὶ σταδίων δώδεκα χιλιάδων· τὸ μῆκος καὶ τὸ πλάτος καὶ τὸ ὕψος αὐτῆς ἴσα ἐστί. |
[16]And the city lay four-square, and the length is as large as the breadth of it, and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs: and the length, and the breadth, and the height of it are equal. |
| [17]καὶ ἐμέτρησε τὸ τεῖχος αὐτῆς ἑκατὸν τεσσαράκοντατεσσάρων πηχῶν, μέτρον ἀνθρώπου, ὅ ἐστιν ἀγγέλου. |
[17]And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred, forty and four cubits, by the measure of man, that is, of the Angel. |
| [18]καὶ ἦν ἡ ἐνδόμησις τοῦ τείχους αὐτῆς, ἴασπις· καὶ ἡ πόλις χρυσίον καθαρὸν, ὅμοια ὑάλῳ καθαρῷ. |
[18]And the building of the wall of it was of Jasper: and the city was pure gold like unto clear glass. |
| [19]καὶ οἱ θεμέλιοι τοῦ τείχους τῆς πόλεως παντὶ λίθῳ τιμίῳ κεκοσμημένοι. ὁ θεμέλιος ὁ πρῶτος, ἴασπις· ὁ δεύτερος, σάπφειρος· ὁ τρίτος, χαλκηδών· ὁ τέταρτος, σμάραγδος· |
[19]And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones: the first foundation was Jasper: the second of Sapphire: the third of a Chalcedony: the fourth of an Emerald: |
| [20]ὁ πέμπτος, σαρδόνυξ· ὁ ἕκτος, σάρδιος· ὁ ἕβδομος, χρυσόλιθος· ὁ ὄγδοος, βήρυλλος· ὁ ἔννατος, τοπάζιον· ὁ δέκατος, χρυσόπρασος· ὁ ἑνδέκατος, ὑάκινθος· ὁ δωδέκατος, ἀμέθυστος. |
[20]The fifth of a Sardonyx: the sixth of a Sardius: the seventh of a Chrysolyte: the eighth of a Beryl: the ninth of a Topaz: the tenth of a Chrysoprasus: the eleventh of a Jacinth: the twelfth an Amethyst. |
| [21]καὶ οἱ δώδεκα πυλῶνες, δώδεκα μαργαρῖται· ἀνὰ εἷς ἕκαστος τῶν πυλώνων ἦν ἐξ ἑνὸς μαργαρίτου· καὶ ἡ πλατεῖα τῆς πόλεως χρυσίον καθαρὸν, ὡς ὕαλος διαφανής. |
[21]And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, and every gate is of one pearl, and the street of the city is pure gold, as shining glass. |
| [22]καὶ ναὸν οὐκ εἶδον ἐν αὐτῇ· ὁ γὰρ Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ὁ παντοκράτωρ ναὸς αὐτῆς ἐστι, καὶ τὸ ἀρνίον. |
[22]And I saw no Temple therein: for the Lord God almighty and the Lamb are the Temple of it. |
| [23]καὶ ἡ πόλις οὐ χρείαν ἔχει τοῦ ἡλίου, οὐδὲ τῆς σελήνης, ἵνα φαίνωσιν ἐν αὐτῇ· ἡ γὰρ δόξα τοῦ Θεοῦ ἐφώτισεν αὐτήν, καὶ ὁ λύχνος αὐτῆς τὸ ἀρνίον· |
[23]And this city hath no need of the sun, neither of the moon to shine in it: for the glory of God did light it: and the Lamb is the light of it, |
| [24]καὶ τὰ ἔθνη τῶν σωζομένων ἐν τῷ φωτί αὐτῆς περιπατήσουσι· καὶ οἱ βασιλεῖς τῆς γῆς φέρουσι τὴν δόξαν καὶ τὴν τιμὴν αὐτῶν εἰς αὐτήν· |
[24]And the people which are saved, shall walk in the light of it: and the Kings of the earth shall bring their glory and honor unto it. |
| [25]καὶ οἱ πυλῶνες αὐτῆς οὐ μὴ κλεισθῶσιν ἡμέρας νὺξ γὰρ οὐκ ἔσται ἐκεῖ· |
[25]And the gates of it shall not be shut by day: for there shall be no night there. |
| [26]καὶ οἴσουσι τὴν δόξαν καὶ τὴν τιμὴν τῶν ἐθνῶν εἰς αὐτήν· |
[26]And the glory, and honor of the Gentiles shall be brought unto it. |
| [27]καὶ οὐ μὴ εἰσέλθῃ εἰς αὐτὴν πᾶν κοινοῦν, καὶ ποιοῦν βδέλυγμα καὶ ψεῦδος· εἰ μὴ οἱ γεγραμμένοι ἐν τῷ βιβλίῳ τῆς ζωῆς τοῦ ἀρνίου. |
[27]And there shall enter into it none unclean thing, neither whatsoever worketh abomination or lies: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. |
