| [1]פולוס עבדא דישׁוע משׁיחא קריא ושׁליחא דאתפרשׁ לאונגליונ דאלהא |
[1]PAUL, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, and chosen to proclaim the gospel of God |
| [2]דמנ קדימ מלכ ביד נביוהי בכתבא קדישׁא |
[2]Which was promised from early days by his prophets in the holy scriptures, |
| [3]על ברה הו דאתילד בבסר מנ זרעא דבית דויד |
[3]Concerning his son who was born in the flesh of the seed of the house of David, |
| [4]ואתידע ברא דאלהא בחיל וברוח קדושׁ דקמ מנ בית מיתא ישׁוע משׁיחא מרנ |
[4]And who came to be known as the Son of God with power and with the Holy Spirit, because he arose from the dead, and he is Jesus Christ our LORD, |
| [5]דבה נסבנ טיבותא ושׁליחותא בכלהונ עממא איכ דנשׁתמעונ להימנותא דשׁמה |
[5]And by him we have received grace and apostleship among all the Gentiles, so that they may hear the faith which is under his name, |
| [6]דאפ אנתונ מנהונ אנתונ קריא בישׁוע משׁיחא |
[6]And in which you also are of them, and are called by Jesus Christ; |
| [7]לכלהונ דברהומי חביבוהי דאלהא קריא וקדישׁא שׁלמא וטיבותא עמכונ מנ אלהא אבונ ומנ מרנ ישׁוע משׁיחא |
[7]To all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called and sanctified: Grace and peace be unto you from God our Father, and from our LORD Jesus Christ. |
| [8]לוקדמ מודא אנא לאלהי בישׁוע משׁיחא על כלכונ דהימנותכונ אשׁתמעת בכלה עלמא |
[8]First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith has been heard of throughout the world. |
| [9]סהד הו לי גיר אלהא דלה משׁמשׁ אנא ברוח באונגליונ דברה דדלא שׁלוא בכלזבנ מתדכר אנא לכונ בצלותי |
[9]For God, whom I serve in spirit in the gospel of his Son, is my witness that unceasingly I make mention of you in my prayers; |
| [10]ומתחננ אנא דאנ מנ כדו תתפתח לי אורחא בצבינה דאלהא דאתא לותכונ |
[10]Beseeching that, if the way is open to me by the will of God, I may come to you. |
| [11]מטל דטב סוא אנא דאחזכונ ואתל לכונ מוהבתא דרוח דבה תשׁתררונ |
[11]For I long to see you, and to impart to you the gift of the Spirit, in order that you may be strengthened by it, |
| [12]ואכחדא נתביא בהימנותא דילכונ ודילי |
[12]And that we may be comforted together by our mutual faith. |
| [13]צבא אנא דינ אחי דתדעונ דזבנינ סגיאנ צבית דאתא לותכונ ואתכלית עדמא להשׁא דאפ בכונ נהוא לי אדשׁא איכ דבשׁרכא דעממא |
[13]Now I want you to know, my brethren, that often I have wanted to come to you, but I have been prevented thus far, that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles, |
| [14]יוניא וברבריא חכימא וסכלא דלכל אנשׁ חיב אנא דאכרז |
[14]Greeks and Barbarians, the wise and the unwise; for it is my duty to preach to everybody. |
| [15]והכנא מתחפט אנא דאפ לכונ דברהומי אסבר |
[15]So I am eager to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome also. |
| [16]לא גיר בהת אנא בה באונגליונ מטל דחילא הו דאלהא לחיא דכל דמהימנינ בה אנ מנ יהודיא לוקדמ ואנ מנ ארמיא |
[16]For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one who believes; whether they are Jews first, or Arameans (Syrians). |
| [17]כאנותה גיר דאלהא בה מתגליא מנ הימנותא להימנותא איכ דכתיב דכאנא מנ הימנותא נחא |
[17]For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The righteous shall live by faith. |
| [18]מתגלא הו גיר רוגזה דאלהא מנ שׁמיא על כלה עולהונ ורושׁעהונ דבנינשׁא הנונ דקושׁתא בעולא אחידינ |
[18]For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all the iniquity and wickedness of men who unjustly suppress the truth; |
| [19]מטל דידיעותה דאלהא גליא הי בהונ אלהא גיר גלה בהונ |
[19]Because that which may be known of God is manifested to them for God has revealed it unto them. |
| [20]כסיתה גיר דאלהא מנ תרמיתה דעלמא לבריתה בסוכלא מתחזינ וחילה ואלהותה דלעלמ דנהוונ דלא מפק ברוח |
[20]For, from the very creation of the world, the invisible things of God have been clearly seen and understood by his creations, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse. |
| [21]מטל דידעו לאלהא ולא איכ דלאלהא שׁבחוהי ואודיו לה אלא אסתרקו במחשׁבתהונ ואתחשׁכ לבהונ דלא מסתכל |
[21]For they knew God and did not glorify him and give thanks to him as God, but became vain in their imaginations, and their hearts were darkened so that they could not understand. |
| [22]וכד סברינ בנפשׁהונ דחכימינ אנונ שׁטו להונ |
[22]And while they thought within themselves that they were wise, they became fools, |
| [23]וחלפו תשׁבוחתה דאלהא דלא מתחבל בדמותא דצלמא דברנשׁא דמתחבל ובדמותא דפרחתא ודארבעת רגליה ודרחשׁא דארעא |
[23]And they have changed the glory of the uncorruptible God for an image made in the likeness of corruptible man, and in the likeness of birds, and of four-footed beasts, and of creeping things on the earth. |
| [24]מטל הנא אשׁלמ אנונ אלהא לרגיגתא טמאתא דלבהונ דנצערונ פגריהונ בהונ |
[24]That is why God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: |
| [25]וחלפו שׁררה דאלהא בכדבותא ודחלו ושׁמשׁו לבריתא טב מנ דלברויהינ דלה תשׁבחנ ובורכנ לעלמ עלמינ אמינ |
[25]And they have changed the truth of God for lies, and worshipped and served the created things more than their Creator to whom belong glory and blessings for ever. Amen. |
| [26]מטל הנא אשׁלמ אנונ אלהא לכאבא דצערא נקבתהונ גיר חלפ חשׁחתא דכינהינ ובמדמ דלא מכנ אתחשׁח |
[26]Therefore God has given them up to vile passions: for even their women have changed the natural use of their sex into that which is unnatural: |
| [27]ותוב אפ דכריהונ הכנא שׁבקו חשׁחתא דכינא דנקבתא ואשׁתרחו ברגתא חד על חד ודכרא על דכרא בהתתא עבדו ופורענא דזדק הוא לטעיותהונ בקנומהונ קבלוהי |
[27]And likewise also their men have left the natural use of the women and have run wild with lust toward one another, male with male committing shameful acts, and receiving in themselves the due recompense of their error. |
| [28]ואיכ דלא דנו בנפשׁהונ דנדעונ לאלהא אשׁלמ אנונ אלהא למדעא דסריקותא דנהוונ עבדינ מדמ דלא ולא |
[28]And as they did not consent in themselves to know God, God has given them over to a weak mind, to do the things which should not be done; as, |
| [29]כד מלינ כל עולותא וזניותא ומרירותא ובישׁותא ועלובותא וחסמא וקטלא וחרינא ונכלא ומחשׁבתא בישׁתא |
[29]Being filled with all manner of iniquity, fornication, bitterness, malice, extortion, envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil thoughts, |
| [30]ורטנא ומאכל קרצא וסניאינ לאלהא מצערנא חתירא שׁבהרנא משׁכחי בישׁתא חסירי רעינא דלאבהיהונ לא מתטפיסינ |
[30]Slanderers, backbiters, haters of God, revilers, proud boasters, inventors of evil things, the weak-minded, disobedient to their parents; |
| [31]ודקימא לית להונ ולא חובא ולא שׁינא ולא רחמא אית בהונ |
[31]These have no respect for a covenant. They know neither love nor peace, nor is there mercy in them; |
| [32]אילינ דכד ידעינ דינה דאלהא דלאילינ דאיכ הלינ סערינ למותא מחיב לא הוא בלחוד עבדינ להינ אלא אפ משׁתותפינ לאילינ דהלינ עבדינ |
[32]Knowing the judgment of God, that those who commit such things, he condemns to death, they not only do them, but also associate with those who practice them. |
