[1]Λέγω οὖν, μὴ ἀπώσατο ὁ Θεὸς τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ; μὴ γένοιτο· καὶ γὰρ ἐγὼ ᾿Ισραηλίτης εἰμί, ἐκ σπέρματος ᾿Αβραάμ, φυλῆς Βενιαμίν.	[1]I Demand then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid: for I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
[2]οὐκ ἀπώσατο ὁ Θεὸς τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ ὃν προέγνω. ἢ οὐκ οἴδατε ἐν ᾿Ηλίᾳ τί λέγει ἡ γραφή, ὡς ἐντυγχάνει τῷ Θεῷ κατὰ τοῦ ᾿Ισραὴλ λέγων;	[2]God hath not cast away his people which he knew before. Know ye not what the Scripture saith of Elias, how he maketh request unto God against Israel, saying,
[3]Κύριε, τοὺς προφήτας σου ἀπέκτειναν καὶ τὰ θυσιαστήριά σου κατέσκαψαν, κἀγὼ ὑπελείφθην μόνος, καὶ ζητοῦσι τὴν ψυχήν μου.	[3]Lord, they have killed thy Prophets, and digged down thine altars: and I am left alone, and they seek my life?
[4]ἀλλὰ τί λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ χρηματισμός; κατέλιπον ἐμαυτῷ ἑπτακισχιλίους ἄνδρας, οἵτινες οὐκ ἔκαμψαν γόνυ τῷ Βάαλ.	[4]But what saith the answer of God to him? I have reserved unto myself seven thousand men, which have not bowed the knee to Baal.
[5]οὕτως οὖν καὶ ἐν τῷ νῦν καιρῷ λεῖμμα κατ᾿ ἐκλογὴν χάριτος γέγονεν.	[5]Even so then at this present time is there a remnant through the election of grace.
[6]εἰ δὲ χάριτι, οὐκέτι ἐξ ἔργων· ἐπεὶ ἡ χάρις οὐκέτι γίνεται χάρις. εἰ δὲ ἐξ ἔργων, οὐκέτι ἐστὶ χάρις· ἐπεὶ τὸ ἔργον οὐκέτι ἐστὶν ἔργον.	[6]And if it be of grace, it is no more of works: or else were grace no more grace: but if it be of works, it is no more grace: or else were work no more work.
[7]Τί οὖν; ὃ ἐπιζητεῖ ᾿Ισραήλ, τοῦτο οὐκ ἐπέτυχεν, ἡ δὲ ἐκλογὴ ἐπέτυχεν· οἱ δὲ λοιποὶ ἐπωρώθησαν,	[7]What then? Israel hath not obtained that he sought: but the election hath obtained it, and the rest have been hardened,
[8]καθὼς γέγραπται· ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς ὁ Θεὸς πνεῦμα κατανύξεως, ὀφθαλμοὺς τοῦ μὴ βλέπειν καὶ ὦτα τοῦ μὴ ἀκούειν, ἕως τῆς σήμερον ἡμέρας.	[8]According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber: eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear unto this day.
[9]καὶ Δαυῒδ λέγει· γενηθήτω ἡ τράπεζα αὐτῶν εἰς παγίδα καὶ εἰς θήραν καὶ εἰς σκάνδαλον καὶ εἰς ἀνταπόδομα αὐτοῖς·	[9]And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a net, and a stumbling block, even for a recompense unto them.
[10]σκοτισθήτωσαν οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ αὐτῶν τοῦ μὴ βλέπειν, καὶ τὸν νῶτον αὐτῶν διὰ παντὸς σύγκαμψον.	[10]Let their eyes be darkened that they see not, and bow down their back always.
[11]Λέγω οὖν, μὴ ἔπταισαν ἵνα πέσωσι; μὴ γένοιτο· ἀλλὰ τῷ αὐτῶν παραπτώματι ἡ σωτηρία τοῖς ἔθνεσιν, εἰς τὸ παραζηλῶσαι αὐτούς.	[11]I demand then, Have they stumbled, that they should fall? God forbid: but through their fall salvation cometh unto the Gentiles, to provoke them to follow them.
[12]εἰ δὲ τὸ παράπτωμα αὐτῶν πλοῦτος κόσμου καὶ τὸ ἥττημα αὐτῶν πλοῦτος ἐθνῶν, πόσῳ μᾶλλον τὸ πλήρωμα αὐτῶν;	[12]Wherefore if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles, how much more shall their abundance be?
[13]῾Υμῖν γὰρ λέγω τοῖς ἔθνεσιν. ἐφ᾿ ὅσον μέν εἰμι ἐγὼ ἐθνῶν ἀπόστολος, τὴν διακονίαν μου δοξάζω,	[13]For in that I speak to you Gentiles, in as much as I am the Apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office,
[14]εἴ πως παραζηλώσω μου τὴν σάρκα καὶ σώσω τινὰς ἐξ αὐτῶν.	[14]To try if by any means I might provoke them of my flesh to follow them, and might save some of them.
[15]εἰ γὰρ ἡ ἀποβολὴ αὐτῶν καταλλαγὴ κόσμου, τίς ἡ πρόσληψις εἰ μὴ ζωὴ ἐκ νεκρῶν;	[15]For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving be, but life from the dead?
[16]εἰ δὲ ἡ ἀπαρχὴ ἁγία, καὶ τὸ φύραμα· καὶ εἰ ἡ ῥίζα ἁγία, καὶ οἱ κλάδοι.	[16]For if the first fruits be holy, so is the whole lump: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
[17]Εἰ δέ τινες τῶν κλάδων ἐξεκλάσθησαν, σὺ δὲ ἀγριέλαιος ὢν ἐνεκεντρίσθης ἐν αὐτοῖς καὶ συγκοινωνὸς τῆς ῥίζης καὶ τῆς πιότητος τῆς ἐλαίας ἐγένου,	[17]And though some of the branches be broken off, and thou being a wild olive tree, wast graft in for them, and made partaker of the root, and fatness of the olive tree,
[18]μὴ κατακαυχῶ τῶν κλάδων· εἰ δὲ κατακαυχᾶσαι, οὐ σὺ τὴν ῥίζαν βαστάζεις, ἀλλ᾿ ἡ ῥίζα σέ.	[18]Boast not thy self against the branches: and if thou boast thy self, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
[19]ἐρεῖς οὖν· ἐξεκλάσθησαν οἱ κλάδοι, ἵνα ἐγὼ ἐγκεντρισθῶ.	[19]Thou wilt say then, The branches are broken off, that I might be graft in.
[20]καλῶς· τῇ ἀπιστίᾳ ἐξεκλάσθησαν, σὺ δὲ τῇ πίστει ἕστηκας. μὴ ὑψηλοφρόνει, ἀλλὰ φοβοῦ·	[20]Well: through unbelief they are broken off, and thou standest by faith: be not high minded, but fear.
[21]εἰ γὰρ ὁ Θεὸς τῶν κατὰ φύσιν κλάδων οὐκ ἐφείσατο, μή πως οὐδὲ σοῦ φείσεται.	[21]For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed, least he also spare not thee.
[22]ἴδε οὖν χρηστότητα καὶ ἀποτομίαν Θεοῦ, ἐπὶ μὲν τοὺς πεσόντας ἀποτομίαν, ἐπὶ δὲ σὲ χρηστότητα, ἐὰν ἐπιμείνῃς τῇ χρηστότητι· ἐπεὶ καὶ σὺ ἐκκοπήσῃ.	[22]Behold therefore the bountifulness, and severity of God: toward them which have fallen, severity: but toward thee, bountifulness, if thou continue in his bountifulness: or else thou shalt also be cut off.
[23]καὶ ἐκεῖνοι δέ, ἐὰν μὴ ἐπιμείνωσι τῇ ἀπιστίᾳ, ἐγκεντρισθήσονται· δυνατὸς γὰρ ὁ Θεός ἐστι πάλιν ἐγκεντρίσαι αὐτούς,	[23]And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.
[24]εἰ γὰρ σὺ ἐκ τῆς κατὰ φύσιν ἐξεκόπης ἀγριελαίου καὶ παρὰ φύσιν ἐνεκεντρίσθης εἰς καλλιέλαιον, πόσῳ μᾶλλον οὗτοι οἱ κατὰ φύσιν ἐγκεντρισθήσονται τῇ ἰδίᾳ ἐλαίᾳ;	[24]For if thou wast cut out of the olive tree, which was wild by nature, and wast grafted contrary to nature in a right olive tree, how much more shall they that are by nature, be grafted in their own olive tree?
[25]Οὐ γὰρ θέλω ὑμᾶς ἀγνοεῖν, ἀδελφοί, τὸ μυστήριον τοῦτο, ἵνα μὴ ἦτε παρ᾿ ἑαυτοῖς φρόνιμοι, ὅτι πώρωσις ἀπὸ μέρους τῷ ᾿Ισραὴλ γέγονεν ἄχρις οὗ τὸ πλήρωμα τῶν ἐθνῶν εἰσέλθῃ,	[25]For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this secret (least ye should be arrogant in your selves) that partly obstinacy is come to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in.
[26]καὶ οὕτω πᾶς ᾿Ισραὴλ σωθήσεται, καθὼς γέγραπται· ἥξει ἐκ Σιὼν ὁ ῥυόμενος καὶ ἀποστρέψει ἀσεβείας ἀπὸ ᾿Ιακώβ·	[26]And so all Israel shall be saved, as it is written, The deliverer shall come out of Zion, and shall turn away the ungodliness from Jacob.
[27]καὶ αὕτη αὐτοῖς ἡ παρ᾿ ἐμοῦ διαθήκη, ὅταν ἀφέλωμαι τὰς ἁμαρτίας αὐτῶν.	[27]And this is my covenant to them, When I shall take away their sins.
[28]κατὰ μὲν τὸ εὐαγγέλιον ἐχθροὶ δι᾿ ὑμᾶς, κατὰ δὲ τὴν ἐκλογὴν ἀγαπητοὶ διὰ τοὺς πατέρας·	[28]As concerning the Gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers sakes.
[29]ἀμεταμέλητα γὰρ τὰ χαρίσματα καὶ ἡ κλῆσις τοῦ Θεοῦ.	[29]For the gifts and calling of GOD are without repentance.
[30]ὥσπερ γὰρ καὶ ὑμεῖς ποτε ἠπειθήσατε τῷ Θεῷ, νῦν δὲ ἠλεήθητε τῇ τούτων ἀπειθείᾳ,	[30]For even as ye in time past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief,
[31]οὕτω καὶ οὗτοι νῦν ἠπείθησαν, τῷ ὑμετέρῳ ἐλέει ἵνα καὶ αὐτοὶ ἐλεηθῶσι·	[31]Even so now have they not believed by the mercy showed unto you, that they also may obtain mercy.
[32]συνέκλεισε γὰρ ὁ Θεὸς τοὺς πάντας εἰς ἀπείθειαν, ἵνα τοὺς πάντας ἐλεήσῃ.	[32]For God hath shut up all in unbelief, that he might have mercy on all.
[33]῏Ω βάθος πλούτου καὶ σοφίας καὶ γνώσεως Θεοῦ! ὡς ἀνεξερεύνητα τὰ κρίματα αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀνεξιχνίαστοι αἱ ὁδοὶ αὐτοῦ!	[33]O the deepness of the riches, both of the wisdom, and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
[34]τίς γὰρ ἔγνω νοῦν Κυρίου; ἢ τίς σύμβουλος αὐτοῦ ἐγένετο;	[34]For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who was his counselor?
[35]ἢ τίς προέδωκεν αὐτῷ, καὶ ἀνταποδοθήσεται αὐτῷ;	[35]Or who hath given unto him first, and he shall be recompensed?
[36]ὅτι ἐξ αὐτοῦ καὶ δι᾿ αὐτοῦ καὶ εἰς αὐτὸν τὰ πάντα. αὐτῷ ἡ δόξα εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας· ἀμήν.	[36]For of him, and through him, and for him are all things: to him be glory for ever. Amen.
