| [1]We whiche are stronge, ought to beare ye fraylnes of the weake, & not to stande in our owne conceiptes |
[1]We then who are strong, ought to bear the infirmity of the weak, and not to please ourselves. |
| [2]Let euery man please his neygbour, in that that is good to edifiyng |
[2]But each of us should please his neighbor, in good things, as conducive to edification. |
| [3]For Christe pleased not him selfe. But as it is written: The rebukes of them which rebuked thee, fell on me |
[3]Because Messiah also did not please himself; but, as it is written: The reviling of thy revilers fell upon me. |
| [4]For whatsoeuer thynges haue ben written afore time, were written for our learnyng, that we through pacience and comfort of ye scriptures might haue hope |
[4]For every thing written of old, was written for our instruction; that we, by patience and by the consolation of the scriptures, might possess hope. |
| [5]The God of pacience and consolation, graunt you to be lyke mynded one towardes another, after the ensample of Christe Iesu |
[5]And may the God of patience and of consolation, grant to you, to think in harmony one with another, in Jesus Messiah; |
| [6]That ye all agreeyng together, may with one mouth prayse God, and the father of our Lorde Iesus Christe |
[6]so that with one mind and one mouth, ye may glorify God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Messiah. |
| [7]Wherfore, receaue ye one another, as Christe receaued vs, to ye prayse of God |
[7]Wherefore, receive ye and bear up one another, as also Messiah received you, to the glory of God. |
| [8]And I say, that Iesus Christe was a minister of the circumcisio for the trueth of God, to confirme the promise [made] vnto the fathers |
[8]Now I say, that Jesus Messiah ministered to the circumcision, in behalf of the truth of God, in order to confirm the promise [made] to the fathers; |
| [9]And that the gentiles myght prayse God for his mercie, as it is written: For this cause I wyll praise thee among the gentiles, and syng vnto thy name |
[9]and that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercies upon them, as it is written: I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and to thy name will I sing psalms. |
| [10]And againe he saith: Reioyce ye gentiles with his people |
[10]And again he said: Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people. |
| [11]And againe: praise the Lord al ye gentiles, & laude him al ye people together |
[11]And again he said: Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; [and] laud him, all ye nations. |
| [12]And againe Esaias saith: There shalbe the roote of Iesse, and he that shall rise to raigne ouer the gentiles, in hym shall the gentiles trust |
[12]And again Isaiah said: There will be a root of Jesse; and he that shall arise, will be a prince for the Gentiles; and in him will the Gentiles hope. |
| [13]The God of hope, fyll you with al ioy and peace in beleuyng, that ye may be riche in hope, through the power of the holy ghost |
[13]Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace, by faith; that ye may abound in his hope, by the power of the Holy Spirit. |
| [14]I my selfe am perswaded of you my brethre, that ye also are full of goodnes, and fylled with all knowledge, able also to exhort one another |
[14]Now I am persuaded, my Brethren, even I, concerning you; that ye too are full of goodness, and are replenished with all knowledge, and are able also to instruct others. |
| [15]Neuerthelesse brethren, I haue somewhat more boldly written vnto you, to put you in remembraunce, through the grace that is geuen me of God |
[15]Yet I have written rather boldly to you, my Brethren, that I might put you in remembrance; because of the grace which is given to me by God, |
| [16]That I should be the minister of Iesus Christe, to the gentiles, and shoulde minister the Gospell of God, that the offeryng of the gentiles might be acceptable, and sanctified by the holy ghost |
[16]that I should be a minister of Jesus Messiah among the Gentiles, and should subserve the gospel of God, that the oblation of the Gentiles might be acceptable, and be sanctified by the Holy Spirit. |
| [17]I haue therefore whereof I may reioyce through Christ Iesus, in those thynges which parteyne to God |
[17]I have therefore a glorying in Jesus Messiah, before God. |
| [18]For I dare not speake of any of those thinges which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the gentiles obedient with worde and deede |
[18]Yet I presume not to speak of any thing [done] for the obedience of the Gentiles, which Messiah hath not wrought by me, in word and in deeds, |
| [19]In myghtie signes and wonders, by the power of the spirite of God: so that from Hierusalem, & the coastes rounde about, vnto Illyricum, I haue fullye preached the Gospell of Christe |
[19]by the power of signs and wonders, and by the power of the Holy Spirit; so that from Jerusalem I have made a circuit quite to Illyricum, and have fulfilled the announcement of the Messiah; |
| [20]So haue I enforced my selfe to preach the Gospell, not where Christe was named, lest I shoulde haue buylt vpon an other mans foundation |
[20]while I was careful not to preach where the name of Messiah had been invoked, lest I should build upon another man's foundation; |
| [21]But as it is written: To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that hearde not, shall vnderstande |
[21]but, it is written: They, to whom mention of him had not been made, will see him; and they, who had not heard, will be obedient. |
| [22]For this cause I haue ben oft let, that I coulde not come vnto you |
[22]And on this account, I have been many times prevented from coming to you. |
| [23]But nowe, seyng I haue no more to do in these countreys, and also haue ben desirous many yeres to come vnto you |
[23]But now, since I have no place in these regions, and as I have been desirous for many years past to come to you, |
| [24]Whensoeuer I take my iourney into Spayne, I wyll come to you: For I trust to see you in my iourney, and to be brought on my waye thytherwarde by you, after that I be somewhat fylled with you |
[24]when I go to Spain, I hope to come and see you; and that ye will accompany me thither, when I shall have been satisfied, in some measure, with visiting you. |
| [25]But nowe go I vnto Hierusalem, to minister vnto the saintes |
[25]But I am now going to Jerusalem, to minister to the saints. |
| [26]For it hath pleased them of Macedonia & Achaia to make a certaine comon gatheryng for the poore saintes whiche are at Hierusalem |
[26]For they of Macedonia and Achaia, have been willing to make up a contribution for the needy saints who are at Jerusalem. |
| [27]It hath pleased them veryly, & their detters are they. For yf the gentiles be made partakers of their spirituall thynges, their duetie is to minister vnto the in carnall thynges |
[27]They were willing, because they were also debtors to them: for if the Gentiles have been participators with them in the Spirit, they are debtors to serve them also in things of the flesh. |
| [28]When I haue perfourmed this, and haue sealed to the this fruite, I wyll come by you into Spayne |
[28]When therefore, I shall have accomplished this, and shall have sealed to them this fruit, I will pass by you into Spain. |
| [29]And I am sure, that when I come vnto you, I shall come with aboundaunce of the blessyng of the Gospell of Christe |
[29]And I know that when I come to you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Messiah. |
| [30]I beseche you brethren for ye Lorde Iesus Christes sake, and for the loue of the spirite, that ye helpe me in my busynesse with your prayers to God for me |
[30]And I beseech you, my Brethren, by our Lord Jesus Messiah, and by the love of the Spirit, that ye labor with me in prayer to God for me; |
| [31]That I may be delyuered from them which beleue not in Iurie, & that this my seruice which I haue at Hierusalem may be accepted of the saintes |
[31]that I may be delivered from them in Judaea, who believe not and that the ministration, which I carry to the saints in Jerusalem, may be well received; |
| [32]That I may come vnto you with ioy, by the wyll of God, and may with you be refresshed |
[32]and that, by the good pleasure of God, I may come to you with joy, and may take comfort with you. |
| [33]The God of peace be with you al. Ame |
[33]And may the God of peace be with you all: Amen. |
