| [1]συ δε λαλει α πρεπει τη υγιαινουση διδασκαλια |
[1]But speak thou that which becometh sound doctrine, |
| [2]πρεσβυτας νηφαλιους ειναι σεμνους σωφρονας υγιαινοντας τη πιστει τη αγαπη τη υπομονη |
[2]And teach, That the elders be watchful in their minds, and be chaste and pure, and sound in the faith, and in charity, and in patience. |
| [3]πρεσβυτιδας ωσαυτως εν καταστηματι ιεροπρεπεις μη διαβολους μη οινω πολλω δεδουλωμενας καλοδιδασκαλους |
[3]And so also the aged women, that they be in behaviour what becometh the fear of Aloha, and not slanderers, nor enslaved to much wine, and that they teach good things; |
| [4]ινα σωφρονιζωσιν τας νεας φιλανδρους ειναι φιλοτεκνους |
[4]Making those who are young modest, to love their husbands and their children, |
| [5]σωφρονας αγνας οικουρους αγαθας υποτασσομενας τοις ιδιοις ανδρασιν ινα μη ο λογος του θεου βλασφημηται |
[5]And to be chaste and holy, well mindful of their houses, and submissive to their husbands, that no man blaspheme the word of Aloha. |
| [6]τους νεωτερους ωσαυτως παρακαλει σωφρονειν |
[6]And of those who are young men, likewise, require that they be chaste. |
| [7]περι παντα σεαυτον παρεχομενος τυπον καλων εργων εν τη διδασκαλια αδιαφθοριαν σεμνοτητα αφθαρσιαν |
[7]But in every thing show thyself the example in all good works, and in doctrine let there be with thee sound speech |
| [8]λογον υγιη ακαταγνωστον ινα ο εξ εναντιας εντραπη μηδεν εχων περι υμων λεγειν φαυλον |
[8]Which is sincere and incorrupt, and which no man will despise, that he who riseth against us may be ashamed when he cannot say any thing hateful against us. |
| [9]δουλους ιδιοις δεσποταις υποτασσεσθαι εν πασιν ευαρεστους ειναι μη αντιλεγοντας |
[9]Let servants to their masters be submissive in every thing, and please them, not contradicting, nor pilfering; |
| [10]μη νοσφιζομενους αλλα πιστιν πασαν ενδεικνυμενους αγαθην ινα την διδασκαλιαν του σωτηρος {VAR1: υμων } {VAR2: ημων } θεου κοσμωσιν εν πασιν |
[10]But let them show their good-trustinessⓘ in every thing, that they may adorn in every thing the doctrine of Aloha our Saviour. |
| [11]επεφανη γαρ η χαρις του θεου η σωτηριος πασιν ανθρωποις |
[11]FOR the all-saving grace of Alohaⓘ hath appeared to all men, |
| [12]παιδευουσα ημας ινα αρνησαμενοι την ασεβειαν και τας κοσμικας επιθυμιας σωφρονως και δικαιως και ευσεβως ζησωμεν εν τω νυν αιωνι |
[12]And teacheth us to deny wickedness and the lusts of the world, and to live in this world in purity, and in rectitude, and in the fear of Aloha, |
| [13]προσδεχομενοι την μακαριαν ελπιδα και επιφανειαν της δοξης του μεγαλου θεου και σωτηρος ημων ιησου χριστου |
[13]While expecting the blessed hope and the manifestation of the glory of the great God and our Saviour Jeshu Meshiha; |
| [14]ος εδωκεν εαυτον υπερ ημων ινα λυτρωσηται ημας απο πασης ανομιας και καθαριση εαυτω λαον περιουσιον ζηλωτην καλων εργων |
[14]Who gave himself for us, to redeem us from all iniquity, and to cleanse unto himself a new people,ⓘ who are zealous of good works. |
| [15]ταυτα λαλει και παρακαλει και ελεγχε μετα πασης επιταγης μηδεις σου περιφρονειτω |
[15]These speak, and require,ⓘ and maintain with all authority, and no man shall despise thee. |
