[1]The burdenH4853 of the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 in the landH776 of HadrachH2317, and DamascusH1834 shall be the restH4496 thereof: when the eyesH5869 of manH120, as of all the tribesH7626 of IsraelH3478, shall be toward the LORDH3068. [1]The burden of the word of the lord in the lande of Hadrach: & Damascus shalbe his rest, when the eyes of man, euen of all the tribes of Israel shalbe towards the Lorde
[2]And HamathH2574 also shall borderH1379[H8799] thereby; TyrusH6865, and ZidonH6721, though it be veryH3966 wiseH2449.[H8804] [2]The borders of Hemath shalbe harde therby, Tyrus also and Sidon, for they are very wyse
[3]And TyrusH6865 did buildH1129[H8799] herself a strong holdH4692, and heaped upH6651[H8799] silverH3701 as the dustH6083, and fine goldH2742 as the mireH2916 of the streetsH2351. [3]Tyrus shall make her selfe strong, heape vp siluer as the sand, and golde as the clay of the streetes
[4]Behold, the LordH136 will cast her outH3423[H8686], and he will smiteH5221[H8689] her powerH2428 in the seaH3220; and she shall be devouredH398[H8735] with fireH784. [4]Beholde, the Lorde shall spoyle her, he shall smite downe her power in the sea, and she shalbe consumed with fire
[5]AshkelonH831 shall seeH7200[H8799] it, and fearH3372[H8799]; GazaH5804 also shall see it, and be veryH3966 sorrowfulH2342[H8799], and EkronH6138; for her expectationH4007 shall be ashamedH3001[H8689]; and the kingH4428 shall perishH6[H8804] from GazaH5804, and AshkelonH831 shall not be inhabitedH3427.[H8799] [5]This shall Ascalon see, and be afraide: Gaza shalbe very sory, so shal Accaron also, because her hope is come to confusion: For the king of Gaza shall perishe, and at Ascalon shall no man dwell
[6]And a bastardH4464 shall dwellH3427[H8804] in AshdodH795, and I will cut offH3772[H8689] the prideH1347 of the PhilistinesH6430. [6]Straungers shall dwel at Asdod, and as for the pride of the Philistines I shal roote it out
[7]And I will take awayH5493[H8689] his bloodH1818 out of his mouthH6310, and his abominationsH8251 from between his teethH8127: but he that remainethH7604[H8738], even he, shall be for our GodH430, and he shall be as a governorH441 in JudahH3063, and EkronH6138 as a JebusiteH2983. [7]Their blood wyl I take away from their mouth, & their abhominatios from betweene their teeth: Thus they that shalbe left shalbe for our God, he shalbe as a prince in Iuda, and Accaron like as a Iebusite
[8]And I will encampH2583[H8804] about mine houseH1004 because of the armyH4675, because of him that passeth byH5674[H8802], and because of him that returnethH7725[H8802]: and no oppressorH5065[H8802] shall pass throughH5674[H8799] them any more: for now have I seenH7200[H8804] with mine eyesH5869. [8]And I wyll pitche a campe about myne house against the armie, against him that passeth by, & against him that returneth, and no oppressour shall come vpon them any more: For now I haue seene with myne eyes
[9]RejoiceH1523[H8798] greatlyH3966, O daughterH1323 of ZionH6726; shoutH7321[H8685], O daughterH1323 of JerusalemH3389: behold, thy KingH4428 comethH935[H8799] unto thee: he is justH6662, and having salvationH3467[H8737]; lowlyH6041, and ridingH7392[H8802] upon an assH2543, and upon a coltH5895 the foalH1121 of an assH860. [9]Reioyce thou greatly O daughter Sion, be glad O daughter Hierusalem: For lo, the king commeth vnto thee, euen the righteous and sauiour, lowly & simple is he, he rydeth vpon an Asse and vpon the foale of an Asse
[10]And I will cut offH3772[H8689] the chariotH7393 from EphraimH669, and the horseH5483 from JerusalemH3389, and the battleH4421 bowH7198 shall be cut offH3772[H8738]: and he shall speakH1696[H8765] peaceH7965 unto the heathenH1471: and his dominionH4915 shall be from seaH3220 even to seaH3220, and from the riverH5104 even to the endsH657 of the earthH776. [10]I wyl roote out the charrets from Ephraim, and the horse from Hierusalem, the battaile bowes shalbe destroyed, he shal geue the doctrine of peace vnto the heathen: and his dominion shalbe from the one sea to the other, & from the ryuer to the ende of the worlde
[11]As for thee also, by the bloodH1818 of thy covenantH1285 I have sent forthH7971[H8765] thy prisonersH615 out of the pitH953 wherein is no waterH4325. [11]Thou also [shalt be saued] through the blood of thy couenaunt: I haue loosed thy prisoners out of the pit wherin is no water
[12]TurnH7725[H8798] you to the strong holdH1225, ye prisonersH615 of hopeH8615: even to dayH3117 do I declareH5046[H8688] that I will renderH7725[H8686] double unto theeH4932; [12]Turne you now to the strong holde ye that be in prison & long sore to be deliuered: euen this day I bring thee word that I wyl reward thee double againe
[13]When I have bentH1869[H8804] JudahH3063 for me, filledH4390[H8765] the bowH7198 with EphraimH669, and raised upH5782[H8790] thy sonsH1121, O ZionH6726, against thy sonsH1121, O GreeceH3120, and madeH7760[H8804] thee as the swordH2719 of a mighty manH1368. [13]For Iuda haue I bent as a bowe for me, Ephraim [his hande] haue I filled, & thy sonnes O Sion wyl I rayse vp against the Grekes, and make thee as a Giauntes sworde
[14]And the LORDH3068 shall be seenH7200[H8735] over them, and his arrowH2671 shall go forthH3318[H8804] as the lightningH1300: and the LordH136 GODH3069 shall blowH8628[H8799] the trumpetH7782, and shall goH1980[H8804] with whirlwindsH5591 of the southH8486. [14]The Lorde God shalbe seene aboue them, and his dartes shall go foorth as the lightning: the Lorde God shall blowe the trumpet, & shall come foorth as a storme out of the south
[15]The LORDH3068 of hostsH6635 shall defendH1598[H8686] them; and they shall devourH398[H8804], and subdueH3533[H8804] with slingH7050 stonesH68; and they shall drinkH8354[H8804], and make a noiseH1993[H8804] as through wineH3196; and they shall be filledH4390[H8804] like bowlsH4219, and as the cornersH2106 of the altarH4196. [15]The lord of hoastes shal defend them, they shal consume & deuour, and subdue them with sling stones, they shall drincke & rage as it were through wine, they shalbe filled lyke the basons, and as the hornes of the aulter
[16]And the LORDH3068 their GodH430 shall saveH3467[H8689] them in that dayH3117 as the flockH6629 of his peopleH5971: for they shall be as the stonesH68 of a crownH5145, lifted up as an ensignH5264[H8706] upon his landH127. [16]The Lorde their God shall deliuer them in that day, as the flocke of his people: For as precious stones of a Diademe they shalbe set vp ouer his lande
[17]For how great is his goodnessH2898, and how great is his beautyH3308! cornH1715 shall make the young menH970 cheerfulH5107[H8766], and new wineH8492 the maidsH1330. [17]O how prosperous and goodly a thing shall that be? For the corne shall make the young men cheareful, and the newe wine the maydens
