| [1]WHOSOEVER believeth that Jeshu is the Meshiha of Aloha is born. And every one who loveth the Generator loveth also him who is generated of him. |
[1]כל דמהימנ דישׁוע איתוהי משׁיחא מנ אלהא יליד וכל דמחב לילודא מחב אפ להו דאתילד מנה |
| [2]And by this we know that we love the children of Aloha, when we love Aloha, and work his commandments. |
[2]ובהדא ידעיננ דמחביננ לבנוהי דאלהא מא דלאלהא מחביננ ועבדיננ פוקדנוהי |
| [3]For this is the love of Aloha, that we keep his commandments; and his commandments are not heavy. |
[3]הנא הו גיר חובה דאלהא דנטר פוקדנוהי ופוקדנוהי לא יקירינ |
| [4]Because every one who is born of Aloha overcometh the world: and this is the victory which overcometh the world, our faith. |
[4]מטל דכל דיליד מנ אלהא זכא לה לעלמא והדא הי זכותא דזכתה לעלמא הימנותנ |
| [5]For who [is he] that overcometh the world, but he who believeth that Jeshu is the Son of Aloha? |
[5]מנו גיר דזכא לה לעלמא אלא הו דמהימנ דישׁוע ברה הו דאלהא |
| [6]This is he who came by water and blood, Jeshu the Meshiha: it was not by water only, but by water and blood; |
[6]הנו דאתא ביד מיא ודמא ישׁוע משׁיחא לא הוא במיא בלחוד אלא במיא ודמא |
| [7]And the Spirit testifieth, because the Spirit himself is truth. |
[7]ורוחא מסהדא דהי רוחא איתיה שׁררא |
| [8]And there are three that testify, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood; and these three are in one. |
[8]ואיתיהונ תלתא סהדינ רוחא ומיא ודמא ותלתיהונ בחד אנונ |
| [9]If the testimony of men we receive, how much greater is the testimony of Aloha? and this is the testimony which Aloha hath testified concerning his Son. |
[9]אנ סהדותא דבנינשׁא מקבליננ חד כמא סהדותה דאלהא דרבא הי והדא הי סהדותה דאלהא דאסהד על ברה |
| [10]Whosoever believeth in the Son of Aloha hath this testimony in himself. Every one who believeth not Aloha hath made him a liar, in not believing the testimony that he hath testified concerning his Son. |
[10]כלמנ דמהימנ בברה דאלהא אית לה הדא סהדותא בנפשׁה כל דלא מהימנ לאלהא דגלא עבדה בדלא הימנ לסהדותא דאסהד אלהא על ברה |
| [11]And this is the testimony, That the life which is eternal, Aloha hath given to us, and this life is in his Son. |
[11]והדא הי סהדותא דחיא דלעלמ יהב לנ אלהא והנונ חיא בברה איתיהונ |
| [12]Every one who apprehendethⓘ the Son, apprehendeth also life; and every one who apprehendeth not the Son of Aloha, hath not life. |
[12]כל דאחיד לברא אחיד אפ לחיא וכל דלא אחיד לברה דאלהא לית לה חיא |
| [13]These I have written to you, that you may know that you have the life which is eternal, who believe in the name of the Son of Aloha. |
[13]הלינ כתבת לכונ דתדעונ דחיא דלעלמ אית לכונ לאילינ דהימנתונ בשׁמה דברה דאלהא |
| [14]And this is the assurance that we have toward him, that all that we ask of him according to his will, he heareth us. |
[14]והדא פרהסיא אית לנ לותה דכל דשׁאליננ לה איכ צבינה שׁמע לנ |
| [15]And if we are persuaded that he heareth us concerning what we ask from him, we are confident of receiving already the requests that we ask from him. |
[15]ואנ מפסיננ דשׁמע לנ על מדמ דשׁאליננ מנה תכיליננ דקבלנ מנ כדו שׁאלתנ דשׁאלנ מנה |
| [16]If a man shall see his brother sin a sin not obnoxious to the death, he shall ask, and life be given to him, to those who sin not as unto the death. For there is the sin of death;—it is not concerning this I say that a man shall pray. |
[16]אנ אנשׁ נחזא לאחוהי דחטא חטהא דלא מחיב למותא נשׁאל ומתיהבינ לה חיא לאילינ דלא הוא איכ דלמותא חטינ אית גיר חטהא דמותא לא הוא על הנא אמר אנא דנבעא אנשׁ |
| [17]For all iniquity is sin; and there is sin which is not of death. |
[17]כל עולא גיר חטיתא הו ואית חטהא דלא הוא דמותא הו |
| [18]And we know that every one who is born of Aloha sinneth not. For he who is born of Aloha keepeth himself, and the Evil doth not approach him. |
[18]וידעיננ דכל דיליד מנ אלהא לא חטא הו גיר דיליד מנ אלהא נטר נפשׁה ובישׁא לא מתקרב לה |
| [19]We know that we are of Aloha, and the whole world in the Evil is lying. |
[19]ידעיננ דמנ אלהא חננ ועלמא כלה בבישׁא הו סימ |
| [20]And we know that the Son of Aloha hath come, and hath given us knowledge to know the truth, and to be in him in the truth, in his Son Jeshu the Meshiha. This is Aloha the true, and the life which is eternal. |
[20]וידעיננ דברה דאלהא אתא ויהב לנ מדעא דנדע לשׁרירא ונהוא בה בשׁרירא בברה ישׁוע משׁיחא הנא הו אלהא שׁרירא וחיא דלעלמ |
| [21]My sons, keep yourselves from the service of idols. |
[21]בני טרו נפשׁכונ מנ דחלת פתכרא |
