| [1]πιστος ο λογος ει τις επισκοπης ορεγεται καλου εργου επιθυμει |
[1]Trustworthy is the saying that if a man desires eldership a work good he desires |
| [2]δει ουν τον επισκοπον ανεπιληπτον ειναι μιας γυναικος ανδρα νηφαλεον σωφρονα κοσμιον φιλοξενον διδακτικον |
[2]And ought but to be an elder such that a fault not is found in him and be a husband of one woman which of vigilant mind and sober and orderly and loves strangers and is a teacher |
| [3]μη παροινον μη πληκτην μη αισχροκερδη αλλ επιεικη αμαχον αφιλαργυρον |
[3]And not he transgresses concerning wine and not is swift his hand to strike but should be humble and not contentious neither loves money |
| [4]του ιδιου οικου καλως προισταμενον τεκνα εχοντα εν υποταγη μετα πασης σεμνοτητος |
[4]And he leads his house well and holds his children in subjection in all purity |
| [5]ει δε τις του ιδιου οικου προστηναι ουκ οιδεν πως εκκλησιας θεου επιμελησεται |
[5]If for the house of himself not he knows to lead well how? can he the church of Alaha lead |
| [6]μη νεοφυτον ινα μη τυφωθεις εις κριμα εμπεση του διαβολου |
[6]Neither shall he be a youth of his discipleship lest he be lifted up and would fall into the judgment of Satan |
| [7]δει δε αυτον και μαρτυριαν καλην εχειν απο των εξωθεν ινα μη εις ονειδισμον εμπεση και παγιδα του διαβολου |
[7]And there ought but that also testimony excellent be to him from outsiders lest he fall into shame and into the trap of Satan |
| [8]διακονους ωσαυτως σεμνους μη διλογους μη οινω πολλω προσεχοντας μη αισχροκερδεις |
[8]And also ministers in this way shall be pure and not should speak two things neither shall they be inclined to wine much nor love riches defiled |
| [9]εχοντας το μυστηριον της πιστεως εν καθαρα συνειδησει |
[9]But they should hold the mystery of the faith in a conscience pure |
| [10]και ουτοι δε δοκιμαζεσθωσαν πρωτον ειτα διακονειτωσαν ανεγκλητοι οντες |
[10]And those such should be proved first and then let them serve when they are without fault |
| [11]γυναικας ωσαυτως σεμνας μη διαβολους νηφαλεους πιστας εν πασιν |
[11]In this way also wives should be modest and will be alert in their minds and shall be faithful in every thing and not they should be ? slanderers |
| [12]διακονοι εστωσαν μιας γυναικος ανδρες τεκνων καλως προισταμενοι και των ιδιων οικων |
[12]Ministers shall be he who one woman has to him and leads his children and his house well |
| [13]οι γαρ καλως διακονησαντες βαθμον εαυτοις καλον περιποιουνται και πολλην παρρησιαν εν πιστει τη εν χριστω ιησου |
[13]Those for who serve well a rank good purchase for themselves and opening of face much in the faith of Ieshu The Messiah |
| [14]ταυτα σοι γραφω ελπιζων ελθειν προς σε ταχιον |
[14]These things have written I to you while hope I that soon shall come I to you |
| [15]εαν δε βραδυνω ινα ειδης πως δει εν οικω θεου αναστρεφεσθαι ητις εστιν εκκλησια θεου ζωντος στυλος και εδραιωμα της αληθειας |
[15]And if it is but that delay I that you may know how it is necessary to behave in the household of Alaha which is the church of Alaha The Living the pillar and foundation of the truth |
| [16]και ομολογουμενως μεγα εστιν το της ευσεβειας μυστηριον θεος εφανερωθη εν σαρκι εδικαιωθη εν πνευματι ωφθη αγγελοις εκηρυχθη εν εθνεσιν επιστευθη εν κοσμω ανεληφθη εν δοξη |
[16]And truly great is mystery this of righteousness which was revealed in the flesh and was justified in The Spirit and He appeared to angels and was preached among the nations and He was trusted in the world and He ascended into the glory |
