| [1]מהימנא הי מלתא דאנ אנשׁ ראג קשׁישׁותא עבדא טבא ראג |
[1]Trustworthy is the saying that if a man desires eldership a work good he desires |
| [2]ולא דינ דנהוא קשׁישׁא אינא דמומא לא משׁתכח בה והוא בעלא דחדא אנתתא אינא דעיר רעינה ונכפ ומטכס ורחמ אכסניא ומלפנ |
[2]And ought but to be an elder such that a fault not is found in him and be a husband of one woman which of vigilant mind and sober and orderly and loves strangers and is a teacher |
| [3]ולא עבר על חמרא ולא רהטא אידה לממחא אלא נהוא מכיכ ולא נצי ולא רחמ כספא |
[3]And not he transgresses concerning wine and not is swift his hand to strike but should be humble and not contentious neither loves money |
| [4]ומדבר ביתה שׁפיר ואחיד בנוהי בשׁועבדא בכלה דכיותא |
[4]And he leads his house well and holds his children in subjection in all purity |
| [5]אנ גיר ביתא דנפשׁה לא ידע דנדבר שׁפיר איכנא משׁכח עדתה דאלהא דנדבר |
[5]If for the house of himself not he knows to lead well how? can he the church of Alaha lead |
| [6]ולא נהוא טלא תולמדה דלא נתתרימ ונפל בדינה דסטנא |
[6]Neither shall he be a youth of his discipleship lest he be lifted up and would fall into the judgment of Satan |
| [7]ולא דינ דאפ סהדותא שׁפירתא אית לה מנ בריא דלא נפל בחסדא ובפחא דסטנא |
[7]And there ought but that also testimony excellent be to him from outsiders lest he fall into shame and into the trap of Satan |
| [8]ואפ משׁמשׁנא הכנא נהוונ דכינ ולא נמללונ תרתינ ולא נהוונ צלינ לחמרא סגיאא ולא נרחמונ יותרנא טנפא |
[8]And also ministers in this way shall be pure and not should speak two things neither shall they be inclined to wine much nor love riches defiled |
| [9]אלא נאחדונ ארזא דהימנותא בתארתא דכיתא |
[9]But they should hold the mystery of the faith in a conscience pure |
| [10]והנונ הלינ נתבקונ לוקדמ והידינ נשׁמשׁונ כד איתיהונ דלא רשׁינ |
[10]And those such should be proved first and then let them serve when they are without fault |
| [11]הכנא אפ נשׁא נהוינ נכפנ ונהוא עיר רעינהינ ונהוינ מהימננ בכל מדמ ולא נהוינ אכלנ קרצא |
[11]In this way also wives should be modest and will be alert in their minds and shall be faithful in every thing and not they should be ? slanderers |
| [12]משׁמשׁנא נהוונ אינא דחדא אנתתא הות לה ודבר בנוהי וביתה שׁפיר |
[12]Ministers shall be he who one woman has to him and leads his children and his house well |
| [13]אילינ גיר דשׁמשׁו שׁפיר דרגא טבא קנינ לנפשׁהונ ומגלא אפא סגיאא בהימנותא דישׁוע משׁיחא |
[13]Those for who serve well a rank good purchase for themselves and opening of face much in the faith of Ieshu The Messiah |
| [14]הלינ כתב אנא לכ כד מסבר אנא דבעגל אתא אנא לותכ |
[14]These things have written I to you while hope I that soon shall come I to you |
| [15]ואנ הו דינ דמוחר אנא דתדע איכנא ולא למתהפכו בביתה דאלהא דאיתיה עדתא דאלהא חיא עמודא ושׁתאסתא דשׁררא |
[15]And if it is but that delay I that you may know how it is necessary to behave in the household of Alaha which is the church of Alaha The Living the pillar and foundation of the truth |
| [16]ושׁריראית רב הו ארזא הנא דכאנותא דאתגלי בבסר ואזדדק ברוח ואתחזי למלאכא ואתכרז בית עממא ואתהימנ בעלמא ואסתלק בשׁובחא |
[16]And truly great is mystery this of righteousness which was revealed in the flesh and was justified in The Spirit and He appeared to angels and was preached among the nations and He was trusted in the world and He ascended into the glory |
