| [1]Trustworthy is the saying that if a man desires eldership a work good he desires |
[1]This is a faithful saying: Yf a man desire ye office of a bishop, he desireth a good worke |
| [2]And ought but to be an elder such that a fault not is found in him and be a husband of one woman which of vigilant mind and sober and orderly and loves strangers and is a teacher |
[2]A bishop therfore must be blamelesse, the husband of one wyfe, watchyng, sober, comely apparelled, a louer of hospitalitie, apt to teache |
| [3]And not he transgresses concerning wine and not is swift his hand to strike but should be humble and not contentious neither loves money |
[3]Not geuen to ouermuch wine, no striker, not greedy of fylthy lucre: but gentle, abhorryng fyghtyng, abhorryng couetousnesse |
| [4]And he leads his house well and holds his children in subjection in all purity |
[4]One that ruleth well his owne house, hauyng chyldren in subiection, with all grauitie |
| [5]If for the house of himself not he knows to lead well how? can he the church of Alaha lead |
[5]For yf a man knowe not to rule his owne house, howe shall he care for the Churche of God |
| [6]Neither shall he be a youth of his discipleship lest he be lifted up and would fall into the judgment of Satan |
[6]Not a young scoler, lest he, beyng puffed vp, fall into the condempnation of the deuyll |
| [7]And there ought but that also testimony excellent be to him from outsiders lest he fall into shame and into the trap of Satan |
[7]He must also haue a good report of the which are without, lest he fall into the rebuke and snare of the deuyll |
| [8]And also ministers in this way shall be pure and not should speak two things neither shall they be inclined to wine much nor love riches defiled |
[8]Likewise must ye ministers be graue, not double tongued, not geuen to much wine, neither greedy of fylthy lucre |
| [9]But they should hold the mystery of the faith in a conscience pure |
[9]Holdyng the misterie of the fayth in a pure conscience |
| [10]And those such should be proved first and then let them serve when they are without fault |
[10]And let them first be proued, then let them minister, beyng blamelesse |
| [11]In this way also wives should be modest and will be alert in their minds and shall be faithful in every thing and not they should be ? slanderers |
[11]Euen so must their wyues be graue, not euyll speakers, sober, faythfull in all thynges |
| [12]Ministers shall be he who one woman has to him and leads his children and his house well |
[12]Let the deacons be the husbandes of one wife, and such as can rule their children well, and their owne housholdes |
| [13]Those for who serve well a rank good purchase for themselves and opening of face much in the faith of Ieshu The Messiah |
[13]For they that haue ministred well, get them selues a good degree, and great libertie in the fayth [whiche is] in Christe Iesus |
| [14]These things have written I to you while hope I that soon shall come I to you |
[14]These thynges write I vnto thee, hopyng to come shortly vnto thee |
| [15]And if it is but that delay I that you may know how it is necessary to behave in the household of Alaha which is the church of Alaha The Living the pillar and foundation of the truth |
[15]But yf I tary long, that thou mayest knowe howe thou oughtest to behaue thy selfe in the house of God, whiche is the Church of the lyuyng God, the pyller and grounde of trueth |
| [16]And truly great is mystery this of righteousness which was revealed in the flesh and was justified in The Spirit and He appeared to angels and was preached among the nations and He was trusted in the world and He ascended into the glory |
[16]And without doubt, great is that misterie of godlynesse: God was shewed in the flesshe, was iustified in the spirite, was seene among the angels, was preached vnto the gentiles, was beleued on in the worlde, and was receaued vp in glorie |
