[24]Then JoabH3097 cameH935[H8799] to the kingH4428, and saidH559[H8799], What hast thou doneH6213[H8804]? behold, AbnerH74 cameH935[H8802] unto thee; why is it that thou hast sent him awayH7971[H8765], and he is quiteH1980[H8800] goneH3212?[H8799]

[26]And when JoabH3097 was come outH3318[H8799] from DavidH1732, he sentH7971[H8799] messengersH4397 afterH310 AbnerH74, which brought him againH7725[H8686] from the wellH953 of SirahH5626: but DavidH1732 knewH3045 it notH8804.
[27]And when AbnerH74 was returnedH7725[H8799] to HebronH2275, JoabH3097 took him asideH5186[H8686] inH413[H8432] the gateH8179 to speakH1696[H8763] with him quietlyH7987, and smoteH5221[H8686] him there under the fifthH2570 rib, that he diedH4191[H8799], for the bloodH1818 of AsahelH6214 his brotherH251.

[30]So JoabH3097 and AbishaiH52 his brotherH251 slewH2026[H8804] AbnerH74, because he had slainH4191[H8689] their brotherH251 AsahelH6214 at GibeonH1391 in the battleH4421.

[37]For all the peopleH5971 and all IsraelH3478 understoodH3045[H8799] that dayH3117 that it was not of the kingH4428 to slayH4191[H8687] AbnerH74 the sonH1121 of NerH5369.
